[Archived] Summer 2011 Transfer Window Part One

You shouldn't believe everything you hear on this board.

It's mostly made up. Just thought I would join in, see if I enjoyed it.

I did enjoy it as well. People seemed to pick up on it. Maybe that's why other people do it? To feel important.

You're an idiot. The Board deserves better than you.

Strange thing to say considering the post previously had just made up the fact that Niko wouldn't come because of Kalinic. (negative).

I made up something (positive) and you call me an idiot.

I'm surprised you didn't pick the other poster up on him making something up negative.

Not.

nicko.. is the winger James Rodriguez - of porto??? heard we had him watched at toulon tournament ?

€30m release clause according to wiki. Didn't see enough of the Touloun tournament so haven't seen him in action myself, but looks costly. Is your source reliable?

£12m and Ryo Miyaichi for Samba and I'd be happy. Or maybe we could take him on loan if he can get a work permit - looks a real talent.

Not really seen or heard much of him. But from what been said highly rated what position does he play?

Hearing that the players Rovers are after will "excite" fans, of course targeting them is one thing and getting them is another thing but it does appear that Venky's are being true to their word and giving Kean every penny raised from sales, so that is a minimum of £26 million!

Also an official approach for Chris Samba is imminent, once one club makes an approach other will follow.

No news whatsoever on Junior, hopefully a new contract is being agreed under the radar otherwise there is going to be a huge amount of interest in him from within the Premier League and also from Europe.

I think he can play both wings and a roaming role. Very good technique with Ronaldo'esque stepovers and ability to take players on. One to excite the fans and only 18, but I doubt Arsenal would part with him. Just saying that if they want Samba bad enough maybe we could give it a shot ;)

Its a good and well having the money but can kean attract top players. I'm not that bothered by samba leaving he's given us 5 good years and has earned the right to move to a bigger club(unlike jones). I will never forget he's late winner at spurs followed by me staking in down the stairs doing the conga on the way out.

Yawn, heard it in December/January and nothing actually transpired. I'm still waiting for Venky's to make their first proper signing yet (by that I mean permanently transfer a proven player in a top league).

January was Venky's chance to make their first impression and they blew it for me. I'm going to go through this summer believing we'll spend £5m-£10m on some Championship level players until I'm proven otherwise instead of getting my hopes up.

The biggest problem we'll have is probably not money but pulling power anyway. We've never been the most fashionable of clubs but we were never a laughing stock either (which I feel we now are to some people since Venky's took over).

Am I missing something here? We've got 20million from Jones, 5 million for this transfer window, and 5 mill more from the next one if we want it. Why have we got 26m and not 30m?

£4m of the Jones transfer is add-ons that will come later.

Depending on who you listen to the upfront payment is around the £16M mark, the other £4m or so is in add-ons if certain levels are attained - appearances, United winning title etc. 'ALLEGEDLY'

Beat me to it artemorethanlabore :brfcsmilie:

Let's keep our powder dry until the end of the transfer window (it hasn't opened yet, has it?)

There have been plenty of things to criticise, but this summer is their first real chance to start getting it right. I'm just going to wait and see what happens.

No excitement required - just a solid centre half to fill the gaping hole left by the departure of Jones and the probable departure also of Samba.

Unless of course you mean Ronaldinho - but I'll quite relaxed about that one happening thank you.
