Yawn, heard it in December/January and nothing actually transpired. I'm still waiting for Venky's to make their first proper signing yet (by that I mean permanently transfer a proven player in a top league).

January was Venky's chance to make their first impression and they blew it for me. I'm going to go through this summer believing we'll spend £5m-£10m on some Championship level players until I'm proven otherwise instead of getting my hopes up.

The biggest problem we'll have is probably not money but pulling power anyway. We've never been the most fashionable of clubs but we were never a laughing stock either (which I feel we now are to some people since Venky's took over).

I can understand your feelings but with the size of the transfer budget we should be bringing in players, but agree attracting quality players regardless of budget is always difficult due to us being an "unfashionable" club.

The time to judge will be 1st September.

i just hope we sign the players before pre season starts and they all get a full pre season training program behind them and there is no excuses for poor performances due to lack of fitness etc because we bought them on Aug 31st at 23:59

I'm struggling to remember any of our managers selling a player for a very large sum of money and adequately replacing them. Didn't happen with Shearer, Sutton, LeSaux, Duff, Bentley, RSC - because it's very difficult to do. So whilst it is good that we are actually in the market for once, I'm trying not to get over-excited by it until we see the signings

Actually it has in England, it opens after the last day of the season. The European window however doesn't open until the 1st July.

There have been plenty of things to criticise, but this summer is their first real chance to start getting it right. I'm just going to wait and see what happens.

No January was their first real chance to get it right. This is their second chance.

Hearing that the players Rovers are after will "excite" fans, of course targeting them is one thing and getting them is another thing but it does appear that Venky's are being true to their word and giving Kean every penny raised from sales, so that is a minimum of £26 million!

Also an official approach for Chris Samba is imminent, once one club makes an approach other will follow.

No news whatsoever on Junior, hopefully a new contract is being agreed under the radar otherwise there is going to be a huge amount of interest in him from within the Premier League and also from Europe.

No harm in trying? Yes, Liverpool is a bigger club, but they can't offer CL either. If I remember correctly, they can't even offer Europa league (?), so why not give it a shot? Obviously it will be much harder to break into their team aswell. Offer him a better contract and see what he says.

Adam always came off as a bit of a prick to me. A very talented prick, but a prick nontheless. I remember watching a blackpool game where after he scored he was running around pointing to the badge on his shirt and the name on the back, yelling "I AM BLACKPOOL". Which in a sense was true, as they would have been relegated long before had he not been in the team. But you don't see that kind of action out of Scott Parker (still think we should throw a bid in). Just got a feeling he's gonna get found out at whatever club he goes to.

I'd like to see us swap samba for Steven Caulker and Danny Rose with Tottenham, and maybe an extra 5mil cash if we push our luck. Two great young prospects, Danny Rose is a much better left back than we have presently and would allow Givet to move into a central position. Givet, nelson, hanley and steven caulker as our CBs is just as good as what we've had this season, its a sideways step, and we'll be £25mil up.

He has skill no doubt, but he was a moby dick in a team of goldfish at B'pool and was made to look far better than he is.

Plus, his reaction after scoring at Ewood makes him a prize 'fin de cloche' IMO

OMG not Charlie 'bloody' Adam again. Nicko mentioned him way back in what? November and wouldn't have done so had he not been Scottish and ever since people thought that we were getting him. A "big club" is always going to be his destination, it was back in January and still is now and if anyone else types that name in this thread it'll be too soon.
