S15 Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 Unfortunately not. Aside from the brilliant Xabi Alonso one (you can probably find the discussion generated by that if you search hard enough), my favourite ones used to be the obscene guesses for how much each PL team would spend in a transfer window. The real figures never amounted to even half. Name them.

savage90 Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 I would rather we splashed out on N'Zogbia. He will keep us in the Premier League.
Ralfinho Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 is no one else looking forward to seeing the likes of Rochina and Formica next season? I know I am. They will be like 2 new signings anyway
nicko Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 Nicko, what's the deal with Ba? Was he transferred permanently to West Ham in January or was it just a loan deal? Or as some papers are saying it's some kind of payment plan based on installments that the new club will have to take on? Can't really imagine it being a straight money transfer where he would have a clause to be able to leave on free five months after? If it was a loan deal, is Hoffenheim really letting him leave on free? Ba joined West Ham for £500,000 down and a further major lump if they stayed up. They didn't. He was able to demand a free because of a clause in his contract. So Hoffenheim lost out, West Ham lost a bit of money but are not crying. Strange, strange transfer.
Hughesy Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 LT list of KEAN targets Collins & Seb Larsson on the domestic list Vucinic - High on the list, price around £16m. Also considered Adebayor & Amauri Miranda - Central defence but agent says still likely to join Atletico even though we offered to double his wages, since been offered Argentinian defender Novaretti Also mentioned we may get involved in Matt Mills from Reading
hawkiiz Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 I would rather we splashed out on N'Zogbia. He will keep us in the Premier League. Should we not aim higher than just stay in the league? is no one else looking forward to seeing the likes of Rochina and Formica next season? I know I am. They will be like 2 new signings anyway YES! Very much! And Grant Hanley aswell.
Ralfinho Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 Should we not aim higher than just stay in the league? YES! Very much! And Grant Hanley aswell. The Rovers coaching staff and dietitian needs to get Formica on Whey protein and get him smashing the gym everyday and putting on some decent size. Maybe they should ring Michah Richards up and see what his diet etc is like. I can see it now an monster Argentinean twinkle toes in our midfield!!!
davulsukur Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 is no one else looking forward to seeing the likes of Rochina and Formica next season? I know I am. They will be like 2 new signings anyway Rochina significantly more than Formica, but yer good to see how they get going in preseason.
jim mk2 Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 I don't know which part of the LET report is more depressing .... Collins as a transfer target or Venky's continuing love-in with Kean by paying for his and his wife's holiday. I'm sure Kean loves his wife but for Rovers fans the combination of Kean and Venky's so far has been a marriage made in hell.

Previous graduates including Nani, C Ronaldo, Obertan and Evra. All came back after a 3 month break HUGE.

RoyRover Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 is no one else looking forward to seeing the likes of Rochina and Formica next season? I know I am. They will be like 2 new signings anyway I'm looking forward to seeing Formica more than Rochina, due to simple fact that I haven't seen him yet and hope that he can be a real creative influence on the team. What I saw of Rochina I liked and look forward to seeing him progress next season.

A bad start to the season and there is a ready-made alternative to get the juices flowing! Pity Kean will have spent the dosh by then though!
neophox Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 As working as an physician its not just to build muscles, you have to combine it with the right stretch to avoid stiffness and not to lose pace.....Its alot of work but maybe Formica may need it, Rochina looks in really good shape. I would had liked them to beef up Kalinic to the size of Ibrahimovic....similiar height but Zlatan has more muscles than Kalinic.

Collins as a transfer target or Venky's continuing love-in with Kean by paying for his and his wife's holiday. I've never rated Collins, quite error prone from what I've seen of him due to poor positioning. If Collins replaces Jones we are weaker defensively, it's a major downgrade. Been looking at Vucinic in closer detail, his goal record really isn't that impressive. Better than what we have currently? Yes but at a cost of £16m? It seems rather steep if you ask me.

A bad start to the season and there is a ready-made alternative to get the juices flowing! Pity Kean will have spent the dosh by then though! Why Hughes resigned from Fulham is a mystery ..... did he think he was in line for the Villa job ? I'll believe the Venky's money when I see it. If they want success for Rovers they would be better spending money on a good manager first before players. Collins is very ordinary...not in the same league as either Samba or Jones, so swapping those 2 for him instantly makes the squad weaker. Venky's would of course though have more money in the family coffers.

Jamesw1982 Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 i wouldnt mind us getting Jack Collison and James Tomkins from west spam rather them than Collins dont rate that guy at all
RibbleValleyRover Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 He often plays in midfield. Might explain it then. I assume he plays up front for his country? He has a pretty decent record at international level.
artemorethanlabore Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 Isn't that list comprised of players linked in this thread? As in, they have no clue?
budha Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 He often plays in midfield. On the left wing in the games I've seen with Totti in the middle.
LeftWinger Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 I would had liked them to beef up Kalinic to the size of Ibrahimovic....similiar height but Zlatan has more muscles than Kalinic. Isn't Zlatan 6'5"?
True Blue & White Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 Kalinic is 6'1", Ibra is 6'5", I'm starting to doubt neophox's credentials as a physian.
