rover, you think we have £33m to spend BEFORE we sell Samba? Where do you get that figure from?

10m original budget + 20m from Jones.. which is being put in.. we won't just be getting the 16.. = 30m.. and I'm sure Venkys would put up another 3m to make a signing happen like Vucinic..

The budget of Keans is minus the so called "marquee" signing anyway.. as always planned..

+ the sale of EH Diouf 500k-1m.. and Hopefully Grella and Andrews can be shipped off for 1m a piece..

formica in the hole hoillet and olsson on the wings

or how about hoillet in the hole with larsson and olsson on the wings?

As a Swedish Rovers fan I'd very much like that. Them playing together on both club and national level would benefit both. Should just sign Toivonen now as well.

Or Zlatan, but I don't quite see that happening ;)

Sorry, 28.6% less - couldn't be bothered to reach for my calculator first time

I don't think we'll get JJ for £2.5m but I certainly don't want us to pay £6m. As I said, we should be using E.H Diouf as our benchmark as his situation with us is the same as Jones' is with Schalke (unwanted and loaned out). I don't expect to get £6m for Diouf and likewise don't expect to pay £6m for Jones.

Relatively easy to sign players - getting the balance right and getting them to gel as a unit is another matter.

Seems like we are overloaded with midfielders albeit of not the right quality. Emerton, Hoilett, Olsson, EH Diouf, Rochina, Dunn, Pedersen, Nzonzi, Andrews, Formica, Grella, Linganzi, Doran, Goulon. A staggering 14 players with an annual wage bill of circa £14m!!! Need to ship out a minimum of six if we are to bring 2 in.

A difficult balancing act for even the most experienced of managers.

You missed out Jason Lowe! :)

Agree - key point, not many takers. Therefore, is he that good ?

Did you see JJ play for us last season? why would anyone ask such s stupid question if they had

I think that Sam has made two cracking signings for WHAM in Nolan & Faye.

Nolan would have been good for us - gets goals and has the aggression and power to supplement the likes of Hoilett & Olsson.

Of course I did - admittedly, got better and was very decent in the last half dozen matches. How good is he - well let's see how many options he has.

I agree. With those players added to the squad, frankly anything less than champions with 110 points would be a disgrace.

So which of these would be realistically get rid of? Goulon will probably go quietly, Diouf will probably go. Players like Lowe and Doran, what will happen to them? Kean said that Lowe would be part of the team next year, will Doran? Linganzi? Grella? There won't exactly be a huge interest in any of the players that we want to get rid of...

JJ was loaned out by the previous manager at Schalke who he'd fallen out with, the new manager might see things from a different perspective, particularly if he or any of the Schalke staff have paid any kind of attention to how hes been doing over here.

Still i'd been surprised if the fee was as high as £6m to be honest. £4-5m tops.

Mercerman- JJ has played how many games in the top flight in Germany? How many apps in CL? The guy has pedigree, I'll ask the same question I asked earlier, can anyone name a box to box midfield player with CL experience going for 2.5 million, either now or in the last year say? We paid 4 million for Grella and 1.3 million for Andrews, puts things into perspective. Personally I would pay up to 5 million for him.

RT @Football_Agent9: Ideye Brown to #Blackburn , very strong rumour! Good goalscorer, should suit the English league very well. #Sochaux

If true... He is 22, and average a goal for ever 2 games. Nigerian. Very interesting!

Pointless question imy. The fact that he had champions league experience means nothing now.

Shows he has the pedigree to have played in the competition, look at his apps in the German league too. He has got 3 years left on a contract worth about 65K a week- cant think of too many average players on that type of salary or length of contract.

The question I asked is not pointless IMO, can you name a player who covers the criteria? If not then why do you think he is worth under £3 million?

Diouf - nasty now..and always has been. Older and slower. Retirement in Scotland

Jones - bust up with current manager. not a football issue. rich club. sidelined.

Not good comparison.

Just watched this guy on You Tube.

One of his goal celebrations is pretending to be a dog p!ssing up a landpost.

OK then.

Dino Baggio.

I guess you would have paid £5m for him.
