Cortez Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 And maybe Joey 'top hat' Barton aswell:O BARTON has been interviewed on Talk Sport this morning and has stated that unless a club comes in who can offer Cahmpions League football then he will be remaining at Newcastle. He added that his family are settled in the area and he is enjoying his football.
Hughesy Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Hughesy disagree on Newcastle. Even if they sign Ba they have lost Carroll, Nolan, Faye and look like losing Gutierez. They lost Carroll 6 months ago – so no point Nolan has already been replaced by a better player in Cabaye Ben Arfa will soon be fit too. Ba is better than anything they have upfront, they also want to add Erdin from PSV to that too. Aswell as the midfielder from St Etienne Add to that Warnock as left back it seems.
bennyboyt11 Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 What's the latest on Samba, Alan? Is it a case of one of the two out of Cahill and Samba for Wenger?
Gav Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 ADEBAYOR - can't see that being right on his wages. Pity, would love to see him here, not sure how motivated he is these days though. Just the type of player we need in my opinion.
Exiled_Rover Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 If you want to play with lots of pace and a quick attack – Larsson isn’t your man….he’s quite slow for starters……….Shaun Wright Phillips for right wing anyone?? Wright-Phillips is crap.
nicko Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 What's the latest on Samba, Alan? Is it a case of one of the two out of Cahill and Samba for Wenger? There's an awful lot of messing about behind the scenes with Samba...there usually is. I would say Arsenal will come in with a low offer and be turned down. Then the Big Lad goes all Davraki. Man City still faves for Cahill but yet to put a proper bid in. Seem to be spending all of their time on the boy Sanchez.
adsfortheblues Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Hughesy disagree on Newcastle. Even if they sign Ba they have lost Carroll, Nolan, Faye and look like losing Gutierez. Newcastle never had Faye, he's from Stoke or was

Interesting to see City going for Sanchez, would love to see him in the league, whether with City or with United. Lots of talk about Neymar moving around too, the little sh!t would hate the Premier League, judging by his international performances.
pick32 Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 If Warnock goes newcastle do we get the 2million owed? I wouldn't mind him here. HART ALVES PIQUE VIDIC Warnock XAVI ALONSO RONALDO INIESTA MESSI ROONEY
S15 Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 If Warnock goes newcastle do we get the 2million owed? I wouldn't mind him here. Robinson Aurier Bassong Samba Warnock Nzonzi J.Jones Bentley Hoilet Olson Adebayor If you want to post teams that will never happen in a million years, why not stick some 'Worldies' in there?
Blue n White Rover Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 If you want to post teams that will never happen in a million years, why not stick some 'Worldies' in there?
budha Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 .. and wasn't there some separate topic for these fantasy lineups?
niggit Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Think people will be let down when they see who we get. Can see a main striker and odd couple of players coming in. Formica and Rochina will be used more in team I would guess too
jim mk2 Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Thank goodness the Adebayor thing has been dropped. We do not need another prima donna with a dodgy attitude.
hawkiiz Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Think people will be let down when they see who we get. Can see a main striker and odd couple of players coming in. Formica and Rochina will be used more in team I would guess too Let down compared to what though? I don't think a lot of us actually thought Adebayor was imminient
Roverdale Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 I know Connor Wickham may hold out for a move to a club bigger than us but surely he's worth an ask by our lot? Young, BIG and bags a fair number of goals, I can see him settling into the Prem quite well. Be nice to see us with another young Brit after losing Jones.
philip369 Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Thank goodness the Adebayor thing has been dropped. We do not need another prima donna with a dodgy attitude. George Graham never liked signing a player from a bigger club..'they think they are doing you a favour'. Get someone on the up curve....hungry and eager to impress. Some of the big names we are being linked with fill me with dread.
Kenwoo Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 I think Wickham would be a good shout. A lot more of an investment than spunking 15 million on a 29 year old on 90k a week. If it pays off and there's interest from the big four a year down the line you get a tonne of money back. Roberts the other way?
Steve Moss Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 On strikers, Venkys and Kean could win a lot of Rovers fans over by simply signing Sturridge. He's young and hungry, proven in the Premier League and going to get better unlike Vucinic who doe not have another hefty transfer in him. That 20 M could become way more in 3 or 4 years whereas 16M for Vucinic would simply disappear. And Sturridge has done brilliantly in an ordinary Bolton team. No brainer for me Me too. But I can't see Venkys spending 20 million on young British talent, even if they would get a return on their money in a few years. They seem to like being linked with marquee names or South American talent. I wonder if Jimmy Bullard is worth taking a chance on? In my opinion, no.
bennyboyt11 Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 I think Wickham would hold out for a move to Liverpool, rather than coming to us.
Ralfinho Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 I cant wait for the day I log on and we are all talking about our new top signing we have just made rather than all this speculating thats been going on since the final whistle at the wolves match
niggit Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Let down compared to what though? I don't think a lot of us actually thought Adebayor was imminient Who said anything about Adebayor? Meaning the amount and type of players, half the people seem to think we will get. With teams that have been put on here, half the team would be changed.
Ricky Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Roverdale, not that I'm against going for wickham but I have to take issue with your comment about him bagging a fair number of goals. 13 in 65 games doesn't seem like that great a return.
gumboots Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Freiburg have got their replacement for Papiss Cisse, Garra Dembele (think we have been linked with him in the past). It was reported the other day e was the target they wanted before cashing in on Cisse. Perhaps we should have taken him instead. He and Kean could have swapped drink driving stories
