As for an alternative....id prefer someone with abit of pace, who is much younger and that can improve, and not a dead end investment

Players like that would cost money, and do you honestly think that if we sell Jones and Samba, that we would be able to spend every single penny of that money on new players?

Is the centre half position something we need to focus on, or should we be focussing on more key areas ie Striker, Left Back(perhaps not so much if Givet stays) and still a creative midfielder. Also we would like to secure Jermaine Jones, so why should we let both Phil Jones and Samba leave? Samba perhaps yes, but why should we let P Jones leave at this point in time?

Good point...will check.

Oriol Romeu was the first choice in January until he got injured. I note he played for Barca B at the weekend. Good player. Will probably go to World under-20s. Might have to wait and see how he does in that to be sure he is fully fit.

There are others available as Barca are moving a few out. He would be the pick of the available ones.

Thiago wont be coming to Blackburn. He is a world class player in the making. Already had about 15 or so first team games last year. British media seems to think Barcelona are offering to Arsenal as part of the Cesc deal but I find that hard to believe cause already he looks like he belongs in that Barcelona first team.

Thiago is the star of the Barcelona youth set-up in his generation. Doubt he would come to us, unless Rochina put in a good word.

Jefferen is apparently on his way out too, he is a very good player. He could play as back up to either Hoilet or Olsson.

Would be good if we tried to set up an official link with Barcelona. We could share coaching techniques, scouting and youth development ideas. The benefit for them being their younger players get a taste of English football through loans etc.

For the left back position what about Danillo from Santos, very green but will develop into a very good player, might be worth a look.

Can anybody give a rough indication of what J.Jones would cost us? I know Schalke have got rid of the manger that he fell out with.. I can see him costing more than the 5m we have though?

Beginning to feel selling Samba would be in the clubs best interests.
