So this is what Drunk Steve was talking about when he said that we were going to have a healthy transfer budget. He just neglected to mention the sale of Samba and Jones. I'm excited to see what our transfer budget will be after we increase it (Through the sale of Junior).

Seriously BPF why dont you do everybody a favour and leave the board for a while. At the moment we havent sold anyone and until that happens why even bother spewing your negative crap 24/7. Samba made it clear he wanted to leave before the takeover and Jones' clause was placed at the time of the trust and obviously Jones himself would have asked for it. Your Kean and Venky bashing is getting really tiresome.

Jones' clause was placed at the time of the trust

Interesting. Where did you hear that? According to Cryer, it was placed in January, when Venky's were in charge.

http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/blackburnrovers/news/9068623.__16m_release_clause_in_Phil_Jones__contract_with_Blackburn_Rovers/

"It is understood the clause was inserted when the 19-year-old signed an extension in January until 2016"

If this information is wrong, it would cast Venky's in a better light. That said, Cryer is normally pretty reliable.

I've not posted anything negative. I am merely presenting the situation as it is. The part about Junior is just for comedic effect of course. I'm happy that you are looking on the bright side, but until Kean or Venkys give me actual cause to support their efforts, I find very little reason to do so. I'm sorry if that upsets you but as I've said before, the most important aspect of all this to me is Blackburn Rovers. Do I currently believe that they are making this club better? No. Can you honestly say that you believe otherwise?

Potential transfer target Seb Larsson started for Sweden against Finland. Reacted quickly to a pass from the Finnish keeper, sprinting 25 yards to disposses the defender before setting up Zlatan to score his second, and Sweden's third.

Samba is as good as gone. You only have to read his twitter feed to see that.

It's not him.

Not disagreeing with the claim that he won't be here next season though.

So Shearer didn't leave, we didn't have a respected manager and we hadn't won the premier league only the season before? So carry on, tell me just "how much is wrong with this"

Shearer did leave, but not when we had just won the league. We won the league in 94/95, Shearer left in 96. Thus the 'season before' was 95/96, we finished 6th... or 7th.

And no, we didn't have a respected manager. 2 out of 3 ain't bad.

Would the club have progressed further under the trust? I personally feel it would not have. I definitely agree the jury is out on Venkys but I am going to make my decision after viewing the ins and outs over the summer. If we lose the likes of Samba, Jones and Hoillett with inadequate replacements then yes I will hate the fact they took over our beloved club.

CryerRovers Andrew Cryer

Im sure Jones would have had some sort of clause in original deal and that the £16m has just upped it. Every top young player would have it

Also as others have said the Samba account is fake

Whilst the club was comfortable under the trust, we had reached a point where we were going nowhere.

People talk about how we need to improve the current squad or risk being involved in another relegation battle next season.

How exactly would we have done so under the trust?....the sale of Samba or Jones?

The promise of consistent investment over the coming seasons can only be a good thing.

The Jones and Samba situations were time-bombs waiting to explode at some point.

I can't see how they can be attributed in any way to the new owners.

I feel if we lose Samba and Jones, we can't afford to sell anybody else....and this means Hoilett. I am worried that we can't replace these players and expect the new guys to settle as much as the three guys have. Who could we realistically purchase in place of them?

If we sell both Samba and Jones, I would fully expect Hoilett to say, "Right, I'm off then".

That is pretty ominous reading. Venkys need some serious work to do this summer. However I will not jump on the bandwagon of blaming them for their departures. Samba has been making noises to move well before the takeover and Jones' contract extension was also done at the time of the trust. How well they replace these guys will be a good judge of how serious they take the club.

IMO, they are to blame.

As it's been well versed, against the advices of the then Rovers' board, they sacked Sam and appointed Stephen Kean.

Stephen Kean, IMO, has little credibility with the players and the paper applied over the cracks since his appointment is starting to peel off at a rapid rate of knots. Like it or not, IMO, therein lies the problem.

Players will almost certainly leave for a Big 4 club at some stage, however, with a respected manager, I believe that we would have got at least another season out of Jones.

Jones going will be the beginning of the domino effect - we are in big trouble.

we need to wait and see before jumping to conclusions.

We have to accept jones might leave, he has the potential to be a world class international defender.

If we go for rubbish targets then I will agree with you but at the moment it's too early to say. The club don't even know what they have to spend yet.

I do however agree with some posters that venkys will probably keep some of the transfer money for themselves. They seem the type that would do that.

As I lack any confidence in either Venkys or Kean I am happy for anybody to bash the owners as well as the manager. Both useless, both at rovers, both in my view should be out. Bash away.

You may not like it. But we are all entitled to our opinions. Yours may differ, so be it. Others would like new owners and a new manager.

Strange people were happy to protest during the season - I was often shouted down on this MB and in PM's when I suggested waiting for the end of the season. Well people waited, seasons finished, Rovers are safe. So is everybody now happy, including those who desired to protest during the season? I even think the protest thread has been removed from the MB. I'm maybe wrong, but I cannot find it.

Nope, not deleted. Just not viewed or contributed to for ages and as the Football Messageboard main page displays 6 pages of the most recently contributed to topics you have to use the "change filters" function on the bottom of that page to increase the number of pages you can scroll through to find it.

and how do you come to that conclusion? "They seem the type that would do that" did you see any of the Granada reports programmes showing what they do for the community in India, out of their own pockets, Food, Medicines for thousands and thousands of people every single day, To say the SEEM THE TYPE is bang out of order in my opinion

You still havent given any evidence to back your opinion that they will keep some money themselves....
