Careful is that your opinion or fact. If the latter, what is the evidence (not what you believe). Even though I (I also think others on here) 'believe' this to be the case. What is the evidence?

Word of mouth albeit 2nd hand from very reliable source in my case.

Well, he was universally acclaimed as MoM in his first ever game aged 18 (just)! Was it against Chelsea? Can't remember now.

No, we are not guilty of rating him too highly at all and its going to break our hearts seeing him in a Liverpool shirt.

I have no faith that we'll be able to spend all the money from his sale or that we'll spend it wisely.

Therefore I'll think we'll start the season weaker than than we were last season and will be facing another relegation battle particularly if Samba goes too.

It was Chelsea yes. A fantastic display of last ditch stops and getting his body in the way. Top performance but one that most defenders are capable of on a good day. 16 million is great money for him.

And would it really break your heart? Player dont give a toss about loyalty. Relegation is heart breaking. So thanks for a decent year, thanks for the transfer fee and we'll see you back here on loan in a couple of seasons.

If we keep Samba and sign J.Jones I honestly don't think we'll miss him too much, plus the money will help fix our main problem - Scoring goals.

Still a massive shame that a local lad destined for the top has left so young.

Personally, I think the fact that Jones is a target for the biggest clubs in England represents just how good a club we are at nurturing the youth and also that our Academy is now in fine hands.

I am pretty much disillusioned about him going but the reality is this, how can Rovers keep a player of his quality when the big guns come knocking ? Answer is they cant. If Jonesy progresses further with Manure, then they will also become a victim of his success because itr wont be long before the really big guns come knocking on their door.

Its a dog eat dog world, its going to happen with clubs such as Rovers and you simply cannot blame Rovers or Jones himself for making the sale/move. I wish him all the very best.

Plusses for Rovers are that the Academy gets the recognition, it works and it allows for other players to come to Rovers and find the ticket to first team football. Youngsters at other clubs will recognise this and take Rovers over the so called big clubs where they might not get a chance.

The club gets a huge transfer fee for no outlay other than wages. I just hope that the club spends wisely.

There is no doubt in my mind that barring injury, Jones will captain England. We as Rovers fans can still be proud that he began his career with us and it was our club that set him on the road to glory.

Those clowns that berate him and the club for this are simpy just that, CLOWNS. There is no blame to be held against our owners, our manager or players and staff, Fergie wanted him and that club, loathe them or like them, are always going to get the cream of the crop, thats why they are Englands number 1 club.

Anyhow, ther may an incoming player from Manure (not BMD) to supplement the sale !

Rovers should now go out and secure Nigel Reo Coker (free), Upson (free) Johnson (7m) and Defoe (7m) Bentley or Larsson to supplement the midfield as a matter of urgency.

Outgoings should be formalised asap.

if Samba is also going then theere are many other players that can can be purchased at a reasonable price leaving Rovers still in profit with funds in the bank.

Stop whining about it and get over it, its a fact of LIFE Rovers will always have to sell to the major powers of English football.

Any idea which player may be coming to Rovers

Jones has gone now. I think everyone needs to avoid dwelling on the situation. That's football unfortunately and I think we saw the last of the 'local heroes' a long time ago. Blackburn Rovers are bigger than Phil Jones and we'll move onwards. My only worry now is how we'll spend the money and who exactly is making the decisions on who we sign. Up the Blues!!

Strange that there is still nothing coming out of the club. Are things so bad, comunication silent, that even the mice have left.

Why would the club need to comment? its not a done deal yet?

Much of what you say is quite correct but on the flip side, and this is my worry, if we lose Samba as well, what message does this send out to prospective transfer targets? Whilst it augers well for the academy, if we develop one player per year that would be sensational, occassionally, as with the Youth Cup winning sides of both Rovers (ala Newton, Pickering, England etc) and Man U ( Beckham, Schoiles, Giggs, Neville etc) you can find a crop all at once but that is extremely rare.

But you are in many ways right in your assessment, I would have signed for Man U if it had been me but the biggest problem we have as a club now is the direction of purchases in the transfer market, I dont believe Kean is the man to handle that amount of funding and worry that Myles Anderson will be lining up in our back four next year!!

Words fail, I'm no Vinjay but I have to say, @#/?!

Don't be daft. He'd be mad to have turned that opportunity down. Scholes is an Oldham fan, Rooney an Everton fan and their careers would have been at a much lower level as would their talents if they'd stayed put.

It's not the players who are at fault, nor is it the respective clubs it's the entire Prem / CL set up which has rendered every European league into an uncompetative sham, a carbon copy of the shambolic Scotish set up which is completely at odds to the best interests of 80% of every nations football fans. We have been herded around by the media money men just like so many sheep.

What a pathetic post. I remember the old days, the pre Jack Walker days. But this is a new era. We are supposed to be moving onward and upwards. But there are no signs of that happening.

I think your bad mood is clouding your mind, why not go back and read what I posted again.

I'm saying that there are people on this board who no matter what, will mock or openly diss others whose only crime is to be very disappointed about one of our best players reading the club. How someone can have a go at a fellow fan for being passionate about their club I don't know.

SEM/Kentaro are running the club....this is now fact! With JW and TF gone they are pulling all the strings!

The scouting team have not had any input in the search for new players this is all being done by the c0ck Jerome Anderson!

Interesting that United would have had to negotiate with Anderson, despite Ferguson having had a pop at him around the takeover time.

 Don't get you Tom. Fergy can pick players alright but they are his words to describe the chap with one hand pulling Keans strings and his other up Mrs Rao's sari.

I just mean if it was Jerome who decided to sign Jermaine Jones it could be worse

Have to agree with that thenodrog. What really get's my goat is the elusive G14 group (now called the European Club Assocation). A closed shop for all the bigger clubs in football to make decisions to keep them at the top of the game

I'd much rather we only bought one centre half, moved Givet to centre back and bought a proper left back instead.

Precisely what I came in here to post. Givet is solid defensively at left back, but offers nothing going forward. Olsson offers a lot going forward, but isn't great defensively. Both are better in other positions, so a left back makes sense.

Only just! We were lead to believe weren't we that the Slumdog millionaires only paid 25m for us lock stock and barrell. imo that gap would have been much narrower too if Allardyce had been around to handle Jones's negotiations and sale like he handled Man City and RSC.

Not many 18 year olds that I can think of have managed to boss Drogba and Anelka so comprehensively. In fact not many centre halves full stop.

siggghhhhhhhhhhh

You can sigh all you want when I'm wrong, when I'm right just stfu.

Not botherd by him now would not be wishing him a speedy recovery if he got hurt in the euros tho.
