No we dont....we need to be sensible with it & not panic...We have lost 1 young player, we need to take our time and secure the correct targets without being ripped off

Agree to a point, but I think it would be a good move to bring in a high profile signing quickly to shut up the doom and gloom merchants. They'll only get worse as the days go by without anyone new being brought in.

As for Jones, thanks for the 2 x half seasons, good luck and thanks for the £16m. I'd be more disappointed to lose Hoilett. £16m is plenty to bring in an adequate replacement and give us funds to strengthen elsewhere too.

make sure we keep Samba, Hoilett, Olsson, Robbo etc before we sign anybody!

...just to poke the fire though.. I suggest Dann or Johnson from Brum as a replacement.

I have news that Hoilett is going to sign a new deal.. From a great source..

On another note.. this night has been so draining.. its worse than deadline day!!

I heard that too. Olsson had told someone apparently, but who knows...

To be fair Tom I think they've been hanging in the balance for a while now.

If it turns out that the medical is done and it's a straight cash deal I think he can say goodbye to any credibility. If he's right on these two factors then the contacts are obviously doing well.

Have it on good authority that Jones has just landed in Denmark. What that means? Your guess is as good as mine

probably that he has caught the last plane to Aarhuus and will probably be staying in the radisson SAS in the centre... the Spanish team did last time I stayed there.

Well then you must be gutted that he's leaving but he is only a good player with bags of potential. He is not the Anelka and Drogba destroying better than Rio super defender you portray. He's in demand as he's English, young and decent. 16 million is good business for all concerned in my opinion.

Without a release clause, and with Man Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs all prepared to sign him, we would have got significantly more money for him. That's the point.

16 million would have been good business for Sunderland when selling Jordan Henderson, but they got £20m. 16 million would have been good business for Newcastle when selling Andy Caroll, but they got £35m.

Really? haha! I got it from a guy in Singapore, and I'm in Norway ;)

Loving the fact that my convo which took place at about 9 oclock has made it all the way to Singapore and Norway! Haha!

I think I know how it got there though..
