That's the great thing about football

They want about £15m for him, add into that wages in excess of £40k a week. For someone who has scored 24 goals in 201 PL games. Throw in his stinking attitude and you have the combination for a meltdown. Maybe if he went to a top club he would step it up and perform consistantly but at the moment he just doesn't do it enough. When he bothers to turn up he can win a game but if that's one in 10 or 20 games then that isn't really enough.

You would get far more value buying Charlie Adam, Matthew Jarvis, Barton, Brunt, I could go on.

nicko, i read through one of your posts earlier in this thread, regarding the timing of all of this etc etc....and as the club are being silent and saying nothing, do you suppose that this could have all been organised after jones made it back from injury, thus being outside of the transfer window of january and even more thus....tapping up allegations could be levelled at man utd??

It was a simple question, not (another) conspiracy theory. Seeing as we do have links with Kentaro it would have been a good thing if he was represented by them as that might give us a chance if we're up against Man City for his signature. No one's forcing you to read the forum btw, if it's making you sick and tired and all.

Jones sitting infront of the back 4? Did you watch him for the 6 months he was here?

Nzonzi is a sitter, Jones is a box to box player. If you tie him down to covering the back 4 your loose half of what made him sparkle here.

IMO neither are true sitters.

They tend to alternate the duty, from Set plays and goal kicks N'Zonzi is usually further forward, in open play he reverts to more of the sitter.

Both have good engines and decent pace, neither are exceptional in the tackle but adequate.

I like them as a pairing because they do seem to be quite fluid with a good working understanding.

Many of us have been begging for Kranjcar to be signed, if only!, maybe Kranjcar signing and a decent target/goal scorer would bring Kalinic to the fore.

They seem to work well together for Croatia, where Kranjcar does plat on the left side as LC said earlier.

It was rumoured that Kranjcar could leave for around the 5m mark, bargain IMO.

Not sure why some are still calling for Ba, when we have been told on a number of occasions to stay away.

I think yesterday's events added additional fuel on the fire, but fans on here have legitimate reasons to be worried about their beloved club. I hope we finish most of our transfer dealings early, but of course I won't pass judgment until the window shuts. We do have some ground to make up though.

All I asked was a simply valid question. There is no conspiracy going on just that it would be nice to know who is looking after the transfer reqirements of our beloved brfc.

I know as fans we like to see things moving but it is very early yet and only those who are worried that someone else may get to their targets after the u 21 tournament are rushing things through. Playing in the tournament alerts other clubs to your talent and even though they say you should never buy on the back of one decnet tournament (Rigters anyone) you know if other clubs have been watching players and then if they play well you step up your interest too. We will buy, but there's no rush to go mad and get things done just yet. We need to see who is available and weigh up our options sensibly. No point in having cash if you squander it just because it's burning a hole in your pocket.

Lots i don't quite get..here's a few thoughts out loud...(sure lots are thinking the same)

Why was there a need to insert a 15 million clause when jones was under contract.

did a gentlemans agreement (loose choice of words) exist between sam and alex that jones would not be bought for 2 seasons but could develop at blackburn and then be bought at a reasonable 16 million. utd first refusal.

was jones aware he would eventually become a utd player. Obviously when sam went and liverpool/arsenal began sniffing around the goal posts shifted.

Questions.

1) WHAT did sam get out of this potential deal apart from guarantee of jones for 2 seasons. he wanted out he had asked to go abroad but was refused.

2) How did williams allow this to go through (was it sold as we need a guaranteed 15 million at the end of the season for players/wages before the takeover.

3) Who approached who and when?

I remeber a quote which interested me from venky's a while ago about sam dealings and not being surprised with the givet news-is there more we don't know were they aware of this.....
