Yeah why not if we can give jones away for 15 million why not samba for 9 million...

on another note maybe we could get 2p for grella and 12p for andrews... that i would say would be a fair price.

Patience....we dont want him just wasting the money on poor players....Its still very early, most clubs dont usually do any business yet.

Keisuke Honda from CSKA, around 12m I saw somewhere. Would this raise our profile in Asia this summer? Would be the face of the franchise, and dare I say somewhat marquee!

He said the other day he wanted to stay and that if he moved it would be Spain

I swear the mods are screwing with us and just copying and pasting whole segments of a transfer thread from years ago.

Not enough in my view for Samba. Would want at least 14 million for him.

If he wants to go then we will NEED 2 Centre back. I would go for proven PL players. I am not going to keep mention the 2 players I would go for. But rovers and Kean have got a massive job on to get Hoilett to sign new contract this season.

Let's just say that we have got 45 million pounds, then I am sure that we WILL sign very good players this summer. we have just got to rebuild the side and try to make it has good as the side last season. I know we are losing our best players in Jones and Samaba but we have sold our best players for about the last 3 years in Bentley, Freidal, Warnock, RSC but still stay up and had to rebuild so let's do it again and get behind the team and the club.

Its whether the 45 million or whatever includes wages, but we should with that kind of budget, be able to get a few decent signings, as long as its not Roque or even MB Diouf, dont think they offer the team anything more than what we have, Jermaine Jones, yes but if as suggested we blow money on Roque, we are goosed!

Just seen on BBC Sport that Fat Spanish Waiter wanted £30m minimum to spend on players to take over Villa. Are Venky's on a mission to meet the criteria, PJ for £17m Big Chris for £9m, Keef for £4m?!!!!

Lot of rubbish on it but Twitter quite good for the footy news - been out of the loop, however someone posted yesterday they heard something unbelievable about the Jones deal, do they know what that person was referring to? It was relating to the fact there has been no comment from Rovers I think.

If Samba goes for anything less than £20m, I'm going to be so angry. We should be looking for upwards of £25m really.

He's our captain, our best player, and recently signed a 5 year deal. It would be incompetence like I've never seen before in football to let him go for anything like £9m.

Urgh I'd hate to lose both Jones and Samba, but I've already resigned to the fact.

Do Kentaro represent anybody half decent?

We will buy, but there's no rush to go mad and get things done just yet. We need to see who is available and weigh up our options sensibly. No point in having cash if you squander it just because it's burning a hole in your pocket.

Have to differ on this one. The club need a quick signing. Surely, between the scouts and Kentaro they must have had their eye on some decent strikers. Get one in, boost the fans, statement of intent to remaining players - and others we may want to pursue.

One way we are guaranteed to squander our cash is by buying British players, the prices for the like of Dann and Johnson are just plain ridiculous. We need to be looking at players from France, Germany, Spain. Plenty of young quality players at reasonable prices.

Having said that, David Bentley's stock can't be any lower. Out of favour at Spurs, injury and attitude at relegated Brum. Would definitely be worth a cheeky offer or perhaps a year loan. Much better than Seb Larson IMO.

Nobody, anywhere, is paying £20 million for Chris Samba. Maybe $20 million.
