Just heard some interesting news.

Venkys reason for delaying the Jones deal is apparently NOT for more money.

They still want to keep Jones rather than sell him.

Great source..

Personally I think we will end up getting a better price but not 25 million and we won't keep him.

His head is at Manchester United even if he actually isn't at present..

But well done to Venkys for fighting to keep him.. rather than just letting him go like the Walker Trust fund did.

Hearing:

Samba to leave

RSC to sign imminently.

Not surprise to see Samba leave if it is for Arsenal.

Not a problem signing RSC if it is a low fee like 2 mil and a pay as your play deal.

I would go Collins and Bassong as replacement for Samba and Jones. Sign Warnock back for the left back position. Maybe sign the young right back from Lens who we have been linked to today. Never heard of him before! We need to sign J Jones permanent and maybe another winger depend on where you are going to play Hoilett if that's up front then we will need another winger. we still need a striker with pace.

If we pay more than £2-3m for RSC then id be annoyed....at his age, with his lack of form he isnt worth anything more. I also hope if we sign him, we dont him pay more than £50k a week, and ideally link it to performance related pay.

Agree with that Hughesy. I'm not completely against the signing at the right price. With a full pre season he migt do ok next season for us.

Agreed.. He really was thrown in at the deep end after January. He definitely looked rusty but after a full pre season I'd much rather have him up front than Benjani. Although if this transfer is £5m+ with no wage cut then he better be a sensation. On the plus side I missed my chance to get him on my shirt last time.. a possibility for next season if we lose Samba and Jones.

What a load of racist balls.

What prompted this?

For all we know they have a perfectly good case.

You're right, and I hope they do. :)

. . . frankly, if you took the blue and white specs off and asked whether getting £16M for a 19 year old DEFENDER, with less than a seasons worth of first team appearances and one serious injury under his belt was good value, I think it probably is.

Agreed, but I like that Venkys is fighting.

If Kean signs Cruz will there be any credibility left for the sweaty sock after selling our future in young Phil Jones.

Credit to Paul Plunkett in the LT today for saying Cruz is a spent force. Totally agree with him.

I'm at a loss as to how anyone would think signing Santa Cruz is a good idea.

RSC to sign imminently.

Curses.

I have to comment looking at that SEM link to players it is a surprise to see this team in the trouble it was last season. Some of their players are poor sub-standard ones there are some very good players that would definitely improve our team. I would welcome Collins as a replacement for the departure of Jones but other possibilities that I would be happy to see here are Bellamy would add much needed pace to our attack will definitely leave Man City, Corluka-not getting much game time at Spurs is he still there? would be perfect if Samba/Givet leaves but would rather break the bank to keep Samba.Elano,G.Fernandes,Kuyt,Yobo all would improve our starting 11 & with them all being SEM clients we should at the very least asking most of them are not getting a lot of football & even the ones that are if you don't ask. Also another one for the conspirists to consider Sam has been going on about how Jones will fit right into the Man Utd team speaking to the BBC & anyone who will listen even though the transfer has not officially gone through even Kevin Gallacher has said that release clause is too low it should easily have been 20M with some of Allardyce's old purchases being less than legal even with Givet saga I am wondering whether there was something untoward in his negotiations with Jones because if you remember right when Venkys bought the club he knew he was about to be sacked is this some type of pay-back for him getting the sack. I have to conclude the timing of how Utd went about doing things when Kean is out of the country as well as SAF by reports the fact Big Sam has been speaking in the press about Jones & his shady transfer dealings in the past. By the way some people are just giving in to accept the lower fee is disgraceful with the owners dammed if you do or dammed if you don't. I would rather let SAF squeal and if we somehow manage to get more out of them then better it is about time we got the right amount for our players than just accepting any old lower offer. Even if it means them throwing some players to make up the deal we should not accept anything lower than what he is worth. The Berbatov transfer just illustrates that fact if you challenge things you can get the extra few million out of them. I would welcome MB Diouf as he is still young & will improve and his pace can be worked on to good effect I think though he might be better on the wing even Gibson would be ok. Plus also the delay means the longer it goes on one of the other suitors might come in with a better offer that might twist his hand to bid higher would love it if Liverpool came in with a 17M bid and I seem to remember before as he has taken the medical at manchester usually the other clubs will take take that as gospel & would not need another medical it has heppened before in the EPL either way the fact it has dragged on this long suggests to me we are in a good position & could possibly mean we get his true valuation just a theory. BPF where did you hear this & where is Samba likely to go?.

If samba wants to leave I say let him. Last couple of months after signing a new deal he still mouths off about wanting to leave. Get 2 new quality centre backs in who actually want to play for rovers. As for roque I just don't get that. The only thing is If he has a good pre season could come good. Think we need some one who can supply quality crosses into the box other wise it's a waste of time

If it is Arsenal Samba will be heading to I wont mind if Clichy heads the other way as it has been hinted he may leave.

Gael Clichy? I'll have some of what you're drinking.

If we do sign Santa Cruz I do hope its for next to nothing and on vastly reduced wages. He has shown very little on loan but perhaps with a decent pre season at Ewood with a few games will help bring him along (fingers crossed). Would quite like to try and get Bentley back so they can reform their old partnership.

Without wanting to sound like a broken record can we please try and buy Jermaine Jones asap and tie up the Hoillet deal.

If I'm to renew my Season Ticket the board has to convince me and I'm sure many others by doing something in the market and soon.

Just had a quick look through City's MB for any insight into the Aurier deal but unsurprisingly none of them give a monkeys when they're linked with every player this side of Barcelona. I did however notice that a large number of them are gutted that they didn't get Jones, even with their big money signings they are genuinely upset they didn't try for Jones. I wonder, City really didn't seem that bothered about an up and coming defender right in front of their eyes how bothered do we think they are about Aurier.

Wishful thinking maybe, but hopefully he has slipped under their radar a little while they're mucking about telling Tevez that Manchester is in fact not only 100 metres long.

Totally bemused by the prospect of RSC signing. He came back to Rovers, we were in a dire situation, he was not fit, he did not look interested, and he did not even come close to scoring a goal or making any meaningful contribution. On top of that he was and will be one of the top earners at the club.

I am more than happy to give Kean a chance - I have been impressed with how he turned around the side in the last ten games - but this makes absolutely zero sense. Cruz has demonstrated he has severe form and injury problems during his loan at Rovers. I am unsure how a transfer could ever be more clearly a bad idea. Expensive (in salary) and a very poor record in recent seasons..... GAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What's all this about,if I am going to renew my season ticket,at these prices you should renew if there are no signings,if you are a genuine Rovers supporter you follow the team whatever, and that includes who owns us,who the manager is,and whatever players are here,we are talking 11 june and your moaning already, like many others on here,we average 25000 gates, but we still have about 8000 core supporters who would support the team whatever.

Lets just wait and see who he does sign, you might just be pleasantly supprised............
