Steve Kean's Hypnotoad Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 Or that they're lucky buggars to get a free £10 voucher or why don't our club do something like this? Wasn't slating the idea, very impressed with Venkys for doing it. Was a nice gesture and this additional letter thats been mentioned enhances the sincerity of it. Just felt inclined to point out that a good proportion of Rovers fans didn't cash in simply because they weren't interested rather than because they weren't determined enough.
Tooogs Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 I think a lot of the 'Rovers' has been taken out of Blackburn.
philipl Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 I think a lot of the 'Rovers' has been taken out of Blackburn. And all the Blackburn taken out of Rovers.
Amo Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 I think a lot of the 'Rovers' has been taken out of Blackburn. And all the Blackburn taken out of Rovers. Congrats on two posts which make no sense.
den Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 Congrats on two posts which make no sense. Yeah, they do. They're saying the club isn't being run by people with Blackburn Rovers at heart. It isn't being run by people who are in it because of their love of BRFC.
BuckyRover Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 Yeah, they do. They're saying the club isn't being run by people with Blackburn Rovers at heart. It isn't being run by people who are in it because of their love of BRFC. with a sprinkling of xenophobia
Amo Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 Yeah, they do. They're saying the club isn't being run by people with Blackburn Rovers at heart. It isn't being run by people who are in it because of their love of BRFC. Then say that, instead of ridiculous metaphors.
imy9 Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 Yeah, they do. They're saying the club isn't being run by people with Blackburn Rovers at heart. It isn't being run by people who are in it because of their love of BRFC. Minor point perhaps but neither Finn or JW were Rovers fans when they were hired- there was no love for the club- I assume it grew over time. You cannot expect Hunt or Venkys to have the same level of affection for the club as the two mentioned however this may occur over time- the club was probably in the same position when they were hired too. I guess their actions will reveal a lot about how much they care for the fans and the club.
Mattyblue Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 with a sprinkling of xenophobia Think it maybe time for another rest.
cn174 Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 Minor point perhaps but neither Finn or JW were Rovers fans when they were hired- there was no love for the club- I assume it grew over time. They may not have been fans, but everything they did they did because they thought it was best for Rovers first and foremost. Don't think you can say that about the current owners.
John Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 They may not have been fans, but everything they did they did because they thought it was best for Rovers first and foremost. Don't think you can say that about the current owners. Venky's might think it is for the best, however having little understanding of football cannot help them.
cn174 Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 Venky's might think it is for the best, however having little understanding of football cannot help them. Yea I understand that. But also I think that their primary motive of running Rovers is not for the good of Rovers, but for the good of Venkys and it's brand. Whereas I don't think that's been the case with any of our previous owners/chairmen etc.
BuckyRover Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 Think it maybe time for another rest. Yes. Obviously nobody in East Lancs is xenophobic. What I am saying is completely "out there". Madness
Mattyblue Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 Yes. Obviously nobody in East Lancs is xenophobic. What I am saying is completely "out there". Madness No Bucky, you know very well the issues of East Lancashire so you thought you troll the thread with groundless accusations. I forget you are from the enlightened paradise of West Yorkshire
den Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Yea I understand that. But also I think that their primary motive of running Rovers is not for the good of Rovers, but for the good of Venkys and it's brand. That's right cn. Also, we're talking about the owners of the club not being in it for the love of BRFC. JW and TF were employees and not owners.
47er Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Think it maybe time for another rest. before it takes over his life again.........
BuckyRover Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 No Bucky, you know very well the issues of East Lancashire so you thought you troll the thread with groundless accusations. I forget you are from the enlightened paradise of West Yorkshire I think your refusal to acknowledge it is telling. West Yorkshire is exactly the same, as is London, Europe and the world. People do think like that. Just walk around Blackburn town centre and ask what people think of Venky's. Yet you seem to be inferring that it's crazy. Why? Mattyblue Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Don't think its crazy at all, but are the fact they are Indians a big issue with Rovers fans? No.
thenodrog Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 And all the Blackburn taken out of Rovers. Correct. Every week I'm losing more affinity for the club. Soon there'll only be the blue and white halves and Ewood Park left. People do think like that. Just walk around Blackburn town centre and ask what people think of Venky's. And when did you ever 'walk around Blackburn town centre and ask what people think of venkeys' Bucky?
Hughesy Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Another one for you to all bash the owners with - Richard Matthewman has resigned from his position after 30 years....leaving just Coar & Martin Goodman on the original board.
BuckyRover Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Correct. Every week I'm losing more affinity for the club. Soon there'll only be the blue and white halves and Ewood Park left. And when did you ever 'walk around Blackburn town centre and ask what people think of venkeys' Bucky? I was referring to you.
Mattyblue Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Why would people be fussed about the likes of Coar and Matthewman? Finn and JW were the lynchpins.
