Didnt realise Gary Cahill only has 12 months left on his contract.....clubs would be daft to pay anything more than £10m.

I'd wondered why his name hadn't been touted around this summer already. He's no doubt running his contract down for an inevitable bidding war next summer! He could pick himself up a tidy signing on fee and huge wages! Silly Noblot, should have put a release clause in there, and signed him up to a 5 year deal ;)

'Media driven?'

Haha, you just don't get it. We DON'T CARE about LFC. Just because the media are obsessed with a few clubs doesn't mean supporters of the other clubs give a @#/?.

You are just another club to us. It aint the 1980s anymore, you've got to get a reality check.

Yup, media driven ######. Did I tell you to care about them?

Enlighten me how exactly are Liverpool the most successful side in England or Britain? You are getting confused pal.

Suso was signed from a Spanish club aged 16. Can't be bothered to check the rest but Spearing is what 23 and played how many games?

We have had Jones (20 million), Olsson, Hoilett, Lowe, Morris, Hanley come through our ranks last season and before- best youth set up... Ok...

You're acting big with the 20 million bracket next to Jones, imagine what we'd get for a young Carra and Stevie? Well I suggest you do lad, our youth set up is best in the country, whether you like it or not

How thick can I get? Who has your academy produced in the last few years of any worth? Less than Rovers I'd wager. An in form Torres is worth more than Carroll (all £35m of him) and Suarez. I'm sure 18 months ago you'd have agreed. 'Back since Kenny arrived;' well, his points to game ratio would't have won you the league.

Man Utd are domestically more successful than you. Give it another decade and they'll have surpassed your European record too. Bigger club? Um, more fans, more money, bigger ground, more successful, better players, better manager. Anybody who thinks Liverpool are a bigger club than Manchester United is an absolute cretin.

We can put our money where our mouths are if you like. You name the sum, and I'll shake on it that Manchester United finish above Liverpool next season.

Liverpool always boasted that they were the 'most decorated club' in the country. Well, decorations come down, and it must kill you that it was Sir Alex and co doing the cleaning. Good luck in the Europa League; oh wait. European Giants indeed.

For the record, I quite like Liverpool. I also like Dalglish. However, you are an absolute @#/?, and are yet write anything of any genuine substance. Do us all a favour and ###### off.

(Please don't use that word again) domestically, overall we're the most successful club in Britain. Another decade? You mean another two! Fergies only won two european cups in 20 odd years! Paisley won three in the space of six seasons lad! Aye european giants indeed, most successful british team in europe too :)

Good lad, you should! Howeve you're an pickey ######, do me a favour and jog on

Must be borne out of years of frustration. Years ago when he elected to be a plastic football fan he went and backed the wrong horse.:lol:

:rolleyes::lol:

Go on, you hiding half your clubs trophies at your house or something? You don't come anywhere near us in history. Remember Treliborg? Ha ha ha ha ha ha

Nah, I think he's on the 'we got just about the correct market value for Jones' team. Any Henderson/ Carroll responses will fall on deaf ears, because those clubs got more than the market value for those players. Why? Largely because the club buying are mugs, and Man United aren't.

S15 I'm not sure that the Henderson price was too far off right. He's played more games than jones, been called up to the England squad and been a regular for his club. Attacking players do go for more money as well. I have no qualms with the fee we got but think hendersons fee was about right really.

Sunderland fans were probably feeling hard done by when they saw the jones fee, less than 40 games for his club, had a bad injury, never played for England. They probably think we got too much for him.

Newcastle confirms the free transfer signing of Liverpool-target Marveaux. They've had quite a few days with Cabaye, Ba and now Marveaux. On paper all three could be good signings and I wouldn't have turned anyone down for Rovers..

So that's 2 who have failed medicals elsewhere. Smacks a bit of desperation to me. And why be desperate at this point in the close season?

Marveaux himself has claimed that he couldn't agree personal terms with Liverpool, and not failed the medical. And Ba did seem to stay fit for WH, where as Grella or Hargreaves or .. have passed the medicals with flying colors in the past..

Ba has had a serious knee injury in the past and it is a massive risk signing him as he is potentially one tackle away from being finished.

Marveaux was sidelined for most of last season due to injury and he has failed a medical at Liverpool based on various reports. Two to have avoided.

Yes, I read that Marveaux denied it too, but he missed last season from November onwards and if Liverpool had any doubts about fitness then they probably weren't offering the length of contract or the terms he wanted. Ba didn't play a whole season for West Ham and didn't Stoke say that the problem was one of those that could flare up at any time? Probably not going to cause problems initially but catastophic if it did? And I just don't get the Hargreaves or Woodgate thing. If either of them had played even half a season in the last 3 years then possibly worth taking a chance. Still possibly worth taking a chance if you are a club that can afford to carry passengers in your squad - we can't. We need 25 players who are more likely than not to be available and who can make a difference when they come on, even if it's only being a fresh pair of legs, not need to be subbed off themselves after 10 minutes

It's been so long since Hargreaves has played properly that even if he was over his injury problems it would take him some time to re-adjust to premier league football, and to be honest chances are he'll never again be the player he was around 2007. It'll be interesting to see if anyone takes a punt on him, but I'd hope we give it a miss.

Looks like Modric is off to Chelsea then.

Spurs had fun while it lasted, and they've been great entertainment these last two seasons, but I can't really see them keeping up this fight for the top four.

People raved about Bale and VDV, but it was Modric that was the heart beat of the team. Injury-wise, he was also ever-reliant, whereas Bale and VDV both had long spells out. If they lose him, I don't think they'll get an aqequate replacement. They also need a top notch striker, which is proving hard to come by with limited funds.

With Liverpool's resurgence and with City continuing to blow everybody out of the transfer market, I see Spurs finding it very difficult to stay in touch hereon. I think Arsenal will be next - either this season or next - unlesss they start spending real money.

I think Liverpool will be quite entertaining next season under King Kenny - quite a lot of English players there now as well, which is nice.

Just like he did with Berbatov and Carrick, expect Modric out the door before end of window

I know similar statements were said with those players, however big blow if they were to lose Modric.
