Much bigger than just naming rights.

10 year naming rights, extended shirt sponsorship - £150m vs Arsenal 15 year £90m deal

They are also building the Etihad Campus & also a new training ground next to the stadium which in total its going to be worth about £400m to City....

Interesting that Etihad in Arabic has a meaning or Unity or United - therefore its more or less called the United Airways Stadium

Very shrewd bit of business by City. Sheikh Mansour owns/has a big stake in Etihaad. By having naming rights on the stadium, he is basically pumping his own money into the club via a 3rd party. That means City will have £x million income from sponsorship, which will help them when the new FIFA regulations come into place.

They have not disclosed the figure they are receiving from Etihaad, I wonder why?

Great business.

Pretty old news, but I'm a bit gutted that Di Matteo went to Chelsea.

He was one of few young up-and-coming maagers who could have landed another managerial role at a top Championship, or maybe Premier League club, and I can't help but feel his career will take a big step back by going back to being an assistant.

Dunno about that. He failed dismally in the Prem with WBA. Hodgsons no Alf Ramsey but the turnaround that he achieved suggested that something was way wrong with RDM's management skills.

I don't agree with that at all.

He got MK Dons to third in League One, and got West Brom promoted in his first season - fantastics achievements.

He only got half a season in the Premier League. The campaign started off well, but they went through a bad run of form that saw him sacked. It was an incredibly harsh decision to sack him seeing as WBA were always going to be fighting relegation and be finishing in the bottom half.

Appointing Roy turned out to be a good decision, and he did a great job, but that doesn't make Di Matteo a failure. Given the factt hat Hodgson came in at the start of a very easy run of games, I'd suggest that Di Matteo could definitely have turned it around.

Is it just me or does anybody else find it a sick reflection on football when some disgruntled little Argy who will never be heard of again in another 5 years is worth twice the entire value of BRFC?

My disenchantment deepens.

Maybe, but it's all about market value.

Besides, you ask, for example, Mourinho at Real Madrid: "Would you rather have the entire playing squad of Blackburn Rovers at your disposal, or Carlos Tevez?" and I suspect the answer would be Carlos Tevez.

But it's not just the squad, it's everything. Ewood Park, Brockhall, Players, player's new sports bras... everything.

And on a different scale, do you think Acc Stanley fans are thinking 'is that centre back that Rovers have just sold to United really worth 4 or 5 times more than our club?'. Same answer as your question I'd think.

At least our players are doing a better job of presenting a unified front the people at Newcastle...

Is it just me, or does this smell of lads sticking up for their friends? Newcastle has brought in three players of undoubted class this window and cashed in on a player who has his best seasons behind him. Also, I would be hugely surprised if Andy Carroll ever lives up to his transfer fee.

Anyone see Balotelli today? Went through on goal and then stopped, turned and tamely backheeled it wide, Mancini then dragged him off and the two had a row.

I love that guy, comedy genius!

It is only a nothing match but I'd say it's a job for his team mates to sort in the next few days rather than his manager opening a further rift. Dzjeko looked well miffed and rightly so.

It looks like City are signing Aguero for silly money. It's frightening to see the what they can use up front; Tevez, Bellamy, Adebayor, Dzeko, Balotelli, Santa Cruz, Jo(?).

This points out one of the many things wrong with the game of footall. In times gone by they'd be lucky to have 3 strikers, with the rest spread out. If 4 left, they'd still be well off. I reckon any one of those would seriously strengthen us. Arguements about Jo and RSC's effectiveness will be taken on board.

Wonder if Rooney's asked for his money back yet...?

You'll have to elaborate on that one Jisty. Or will it come out soon?

£40m, and £200,000 p/week for the man himself.

Enough to make you puke.

From what I've heard, Jo is gone back to Brazil, City are really trying to offload Adebayor on Real Madrid, Bellamy wants to leave and I've got to think Tevez is gone as well (he's certainly done his best to be sold). I almost expected some sort of swap deal for Aguero.

BUT EVEN THEN, that's an impressive strike force.
