CheeseOnToast Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 You may get your wish. Don't kill us plea. Unless forced to sell players, Everton should remain in the top half. They've a promising, young midfield in Fellaini, Rodwell and Barkley, but Fellaini will be well gone if Everton don't start winning. Troubling financial news for Evertonians though, the club is just such an unattractive buy with the 45 million in debt and the need for a new ground. The bit about not wanting to be Blackburn is just Kenwright being a misguided Evertonian. For me, Blackburn is on the way up, and Everton, well, have some serious issues to address before pulling a Leeds and finding themselves in the third division.

Nothing to do with John Williams being best mates with Kenwright then.
John Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 Everton have a solid/decent squad plus, importantly, a good manager - their assistant manager Steve Round is highly regarded in the game too.

That's some serious optimism, right there. Blackburn being described as 'on the way up' is usually followed by 'in flames'. Hope you're right...!
thenodrog Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 Chickens coming home to roost eh? Barclays have come to their senses it seems and are calling their football debts in. Just a pity they and other banks lost them in the first place.
Backroom Tom Posted August 19, 2011 Backroom Posted August 19, 2011 I hope Lukaku is a success at Chelsea after seeing this video Good luck to the lad! Surprised nobody mentioned we should go for Bullard after he was sacked by Hull http://www.hullcityafc.net/page/NewsDetail/0,,10338~2424467,00.html? Been a bit of a naughty boy apparently!
Backroom Tom Posted August 20, 2011 Backroom Posted August 20, 2011 I approve of Newcastle being denied a pen, anything to wind up Barton is OK in my book
HemelRover Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 Bad news for us with Koschelmy(sp) going off after 15 mins for Arsenal?
RibbleValleyRover Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 Bad news for us with Koschelmy(sp) going off after 15 mins for Arsenal? I thought the same. Arsenal badly need central defenders.
John Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 Brum have financial difficulties so the price may not be as high as initially suggested (for Dann)
Amo Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 Or Wenger will just sit on his hands, as per, and sign nobody.
RovertheHill Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 Dirty, dirty Arsenal. Couldn't be happier for Arsene Wenger after his years of moaning. Watching this game, two of the biggest clubs in the country, spending lots of money and paying high wages, and it's just not very good. Best league in the world? No, I don't think so - just overpaid and overvalued
Backroom Tom Posted August 20, 2011 Backroom Posted August 20, 2011 Frimpong looked class until the red. That goal just sums up Arsenals luck at present
Eddie Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 2-0 down and game over. Arsenal look to be in big trouble. If they lose Nasri and don't bring in any quality players then they could easily be looking at a midtable finish.
Backroom Tom Posted August 20, 2011 Backroom Posted August 20, 2011 West Brom beating Chelsea Less than 5 minutes gone though
Miker Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 West Brom beating Chelsea Less than 5 minutes gone though Reid having a good game for West Brom, Mulumbu looks even better though.
alexanders Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 Martin Jol not the best start either. Fulham lose 2--0 to wolves.
Nelsta Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Friedel expected to be starting tonight for Spurs.
67splitscreen Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Macs with another £10mpa in the kitty, new training kit sponsor DHL. Only 5 main shirt sponsors are higher in the PL.
Nelsta Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Macs with another £10mpa in the kitty, new training kit sponsor DHL. Only 5 main shirt sponsors are higher in the PL. There's been a few rumours about that.some say 4 million a year and some say 40 million a year.
thenodrog Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Frimpong looked class until the red. 'Frimpong'? Wasn't he a friend of Rupert Bear?
