Just a sobering thought for Rovers fans who think Saturday was the turning point.

If Sunderland beat us on Sunday we will be back to being four points and effectively two wins away from safety.

Kean's theory that we will be mid table is based on the idea that every team above us will lose. Unfortunately in the real world that does not happen.

Swansea and Norwich are our biggest rivals and by winning on saturday we closed the gap on those two. If they both fail to win at the weekend then we have a real chance of overtaking them with the next 3 games we have.

Think we'll lose to sunderland but can see us beating west brom and prob a point against bolton.

Fulham were never going to finish below us. The actual teams aren't worlds apart in terms of quality, the managers however...

Interesting that Jol manages to get plenty of attacking players into his line-up but still keep tight defensively.

They started with Zamora, Dempsey, Dembele and Ruiz last night. Not a tackle between them there really. Danny Murphy plays a holding role and he's not exactly a ball winner, so the only true defensive midfield player is Etuhu.

I wouldn't say that's too far from the 4 attacking players we play with, plus Pedersen alongside N'Zonzi. The difference is that Jol can play those players without breaking the defence.

Norwich are 6 points in front and Swansea 4 points in front. So for us to 'overtake' them we would need to get 2 wins in these next 3 games and they will have to lose their next 3 games. This is my point everyone assumes all the other clubs are not going to pick up points so it will be easy to catch up. This will not happen. Norwich and Swansea have a better home record than us.

We all thought we had turned the corner when we bear Arsenal on 17th September. It has only taken 11 weeks to win our second game.

I think we'll definitely lose to Sunderland on Sunday.

MON will have his players fired up, especially after the manner in which they lost at Wolves last week. One step forward....

I agree. Which means that if we do manage to get a win it's all the more reason to be positive.

If we win and keep a clean sheet?

Man. Utd out of the Champs League.

Gutted, Jones! And you, Rooney, you dweeb. Everyone's quick to kiss your balls when you're banging 'em in. When you're crud, you don't hear a peep out of anyone.

ITV were heartbroken.

im heartbroken, i would have loved to have seen all 4 english teams through, dont think an english team has gone out of the champions league group stage for years let alone 2.

Hahahahah, you've got to be joking!

Be a cold day in hell before I 'support' Man United!

Call yourself a football fan ? I'm a heartbroken as a newt celebrating !

The days of blanket support for English clubs in Europe are long gone.

Hopefully Arsenal and Chelsea will get knocked out next.
