Backroom Tom Posted December 5, 2011 Backroom Posted December 5, 2011 To me we looked like a championship side with one or two class players as a team they looked more complete IMO

Fylde Coast Fan Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 I might have missed this somewhere, but why isn't Hughes getting games regularly for Fulham this year? Just out of favour, or did he fall out with Jol?
philipl Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Fulham winning is bad news Fulham are far too good to go down as will Sunderland under O'Neill. The reality is we are playing catch up on clubs at least 5 points ahead of us if we are to try to stay up.
Backroom DE. Posted December 5, 2011 Backroom Posted December 5, 2011 Fulham were never going to finish below us. The actual teams aren't worlds apart in terms of quality, the managers however...
Kendalrover Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Just a sobering thought for Rovers fans who think Saturday was the turning point. If Sunderland beat us on Sunday we will be back to being four points and effectively two wins away from safety. Kean's theory that we will be mid table is based on the idea that every team above us will lose. Unfortunately in the real world that does not happen.

Kean's theory that we will be mid table is based on the idea that every team above us will lose. Unfortunately in the real world that does not happen. Swansea and Norwich are our biggest rivals and by winning on saturday we closed the gap on those two. If they both fail to win at the weekend then we have a real chance of overtaking them with the next 3 games we have. Think we'll lose to sunderland but can see us beating west brom and prob a point against bolton.
LeChuck Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 Fulham were never going to finish below us. The actual teams aren't worlds apart in terms of quality, the managers however... Interesting that Jol manages to get plenty of attacking players into his line-up but still keep tight defensively. They started with Zamora, Dempsey, Dembele and Ruiz last night. Not a tackle between them there really. Danny Murphy plays a holding role and he's not exactly a ball winner, so the only true defensive midfield player is Etuhu. I wouldn't say that's too far from the 4 attacking players we play with, plus Pedersen alongside N'Zonzi. The difference is that Jol can play those players without breaking the defence.

Think we'll lose to sunderland but can see us beating west brom and prob a point against bolton. Norwich are 6 points in front and Swansea 4 points in front. So for us to 'overtake' them we would need to get 2 wins in these next 3 games and they will have to lose their next 3 games. This is my point everyone assumes all the other clubs are not going to pick up points so it will be easy to catch up. This will not happen. Norwich and Swansea have a better home record than us. We all thought we had turned the corner when we bear Arsenal on 17th September. It has only taken 11 weeks to win our second game.
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted December 6, 2011 Moderation Lead Posted December 6, 2011 I think we'll definitely lose to Sunderland on Sunday. MON will have his players fired up, especially after the manner in which they lost at Wolves last week. One step forward....
BuckyRover Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 I think we'll definitely lose to Sunderland on Sunday. Which means that if we do manage to get a win it's all the more reason to be positive. If we win and keep a clean sheet? Dreamland
Audax Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 If you look at the league table: http://www.soccerway.com/national/england/premier-league/2011-2012/regular-season/ ever club from 8th Stoke City down to 20th, Wigan have a negative goal differential EXCEPT for Fulham (GD=0), Fulham had a big win over QPR, 6-0 but still, Fulham have at times, played well. They drew Man City too, 2-2. Telling statistic.
