Bolton and Wigan are my favourites to go down. We are in the next bunch with Wolves, Norwich, Swansea, QPR, Sunderland, W.Brom. Avoid defeat at all costs tomorrow!

As usual, I have changed the future with my predictions (see crossed out teams)!

Now Wigan surged ahead, last year, the relegation battle was very exciting, quite a few clubs close to each other in the table, a few results here and we could see the same. But Hodgson is a keen manager, so, we may well see WBA come back.

Sometimes do you ever wonder that a team with the benefit of seeing the prior games might benefit? I do. Sometimes, it might be best to play the first game as well. Works both ways.

I get WBA scoring, 33 minutes, Reid.

38th minute, Nigerian like Yak, Victor Moses scores for Wigan

57th minute, PG Gomez, assist from Moses, so this means Moses was the one fouled in the box? I only have the box score, I am not watching this game.

I would have expected Arsenal to route Everton at home but they are only up 1-0.

Well, Lawro predicted Norwich 2-1, they are leading Newcastle, 3-2 so perhaps he picked the right sides.

Sorry to say, Owen Coyle could easily get the sack next, they had the big vic-tree vs. Stoke City but other than that, zilch. Back to the same old Bolton. It seems to me there are NOT many available managers around to tell you the truth, MON the only major quality candidate hired, Hughes is very good as well but I doubt the same calibre as MON. Some managers may deserve a 2nd chance even if they bottled it somewhere, we'll see.

Swansea wins, they'd get 17 points, it depends on the other games, this could send them up but Villa and Norwich will too, still, that will be good for Swansea and the Rovers will need a win even more. Liverpool barely gets by QPR, full time.

I may be in error but now with the concluding games, I get these scores, unbelievably, for the moment, Wigan are out of the drop zone. 2 wins in a row does a lot for you.

This table look very difficult. Rovers need to win, Sunderland will too and they are in the drop zone.

  • Everton 16
  • QPR 16
  • Fulham 15
  • West Brom 15
  • Wolves 14
  • Wigan 12
  • Sunderland 11
  • Blackburn 10
  • Bolton 9

--------------

In the C-ship league:

Reading 3 West Ham 0

West Ham remains 2nd with 40 points, Cardiff City, 'Boro, 38 points, so WHU is in striking distance. That's kind of a bad loss, 2nd in a row for WHU, last week to Burnley at West Ham.

Even after last weeks win its clear to see the awful situation our club is in....we deserately need to put a run of wins together to get out of this mess or I fear the writing is on the wall.

A run of wins under Kean?

We need that run of wins in next 3 games, Sunderland away and then home to WBA and Bolton. If not then we are just about gone.

We could get 9 points or none the way things are at Rovers but surely home to Bolton has to be a Rovers win?

Games up to the new year:

Sunderland Away

WBA Home

Bolton Home

Liverpool Away

Man Utd Away

The next three games are absolutely crucial.

Are there are about 3 or 4 games in the next two weeks? This is crucial too with the table, it would be important for the Rovers to remain at least in striking distance here.

The other matches are very pertinent.

Wolves/Stoke City Saturday and then Wolves/Norwich Tuesday, Wolves with some fortune could put some points between themselves and the drop zone.

Fulham/Bolton and then Fulham/Manchester United, I would not count Fulham out from getting a draw vs. Man Utd. Yes, Fulham are good but still, they linger around at the bottom of the table.

Blackburn/West Brom, Blackburn/Bolton.

Blackburn/West Brom and then, Newcastle United/West Brom.

Newcastle/Swansea, Everton/Swansea.

Tottenham/Sunderland, QPR/Sunderland

And many more.

http://www.soccerway.com/national/england/premier-league/2011-2012/regular-season/ Schedule is here, I could have presented this better I'm sure. This is a real crunch time. Rovers could be in the mix or fall way behind here.

Wigan tie it about 88th minute, They deserve it, now it is an even game, Wigan could have gotten a penalty earlier and should have per the TV commentary though the announcers say the late Wigan goal was due to some shoddy goalkeeping by Cech.

Wigan are going to stay up unless they go on another rubbish run. Wigan Liverpool Dec. 20th.

Wigan had 5 points it seems like for 3 months, 8 game losing streak...they've been better than CFC in this game.

I don't support Wigan but I admire the way they've looked left for dead and now, they are playing pretty good football. Lots of attacking, Wigan/Chelsea must have been even in possession, I'll check the stats later. Wigan in the drop zone still at 13 points, Wolves at 14 clinging to safety.

Quite possibly, it's definitely been a long time.

The promoted clubs have never had a better chance to stay up than this season. Most teams in the league outside the top ten are awful, particularly from 15th downwards.
