Audax Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 Not much to say about Adriano except nowadays, so many diet drugs will be caught in doping tests that they can not be used so it's not easy to lose weight or even keep it down unless you are eating a lot of vegetables, good idea but not easy to do. Had to chime in. Many of us face the "battle of the bulge", that's certain. Was it Toure who said he borrowed his wife's diet pills and copped a ban? I think so. Tough road to hoe.

Stuart Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 Not much to say about Adriano except nowadays, so many diet drugs will be caught in doping tests that they can not be used so it's not easy to lose weight or even keep it down unless you are eating a lot of vegetables, good idea but not easy to do. Had to chime in. Many of us face the "battle of the bulge", that's certain. Was it Toure who said he borrowed his wife's diet pills and copped a ban? I think so. Tough road to hoe. C'mon Audax. A person payed as a professional athlete should be able to control their weight. It's like defending a taxi driver for losing his driving license because of drink driving, and blaming the copper who pulled him over!
Backroom Tom Posted February 10, 2012 Backroom Posted February 10, 2012 But Adriano had 99 shot power on PES!
Backroom DE. Posted February 10, 2012 Backroom Posted February 10, 2012 With all that weight behind him he probably still has 99 shot power
Stuart Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 With all that weight behind him he probably still has 99 shot power I had this image of someone wheeling in an old cannon to take penalties!
RibbleValleyRover Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 The guy you abused puts his hand out and you reject it. Classy by Suarez
Backroom Tom Posted February 11, 2012 Backroom Posted February 11, 2012 Utterly horrible little man he is Glad Rio refused to shake his hand after that
Audax Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Now Evra can claim the refusal to shake hands was racist abuse.
Audax Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 C'mon Audax. A person payed as a professional athlete should be able to control their weight. It's like defending a taxi driver for losing his driving license because of drink driving, and blaming the copper who pulled him over! This is true. I guess I was saying in general, weight problems are widespread.
Doug Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 This is true. I guess I was saying in general, weight problems are widespread. I suppose they couldn't be anything else!
Stuart Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Utterly horrible little man he is Glad Rio refused to shake his hand after that Agreed. Disgusting. Audax, you surely aren't defending Suarez?
imy9 Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Now Evra can claim the refusal to shake hands was racist abuse. Just wow.
Amo Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Suarez is a disgrace and Liverpool (Dalglish and their fans alike) should be ashamed with themselves for backing him.
Backroom DE. Posted February 11, 2012 Backroom Posted February 11, 2012 My respect for Dalglish has decreased immeasurably as this sordid saga has rumbled on, barely recognisable in comparison to the man who led us to the title in 1995.
Audax Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Maybe I haven't read the full report: http://www.caughtoffside.com/2011/12/31/luis-suarez-could-receive-permanent-ban-fa-release-detailed-report-into-patrice-evra-racist-abuse-case-that-led-to-eight-match-ban/ So this report shows Suarez crossed the line if Suarez said things like "I don't speak to blacks" translated from the Spanish. I thought it was all about just using the word which necessarily might not be bad if Spanish is used, this article says Suarez also pinched Evra's cheek. Players are playing hard against each other but IF Suarez said this "I don't speak too" and the other mean things in the article, he did cross the line. The article reads: The report says that when Evra asked Suarez during the 1-1 draw why he had been kicked, the striker replied in Spanish: “Porque tu eres negro,” which translates as “because you are black.”Evra said he would punch Suarez if he repeated the comment to which Suarez said: “No hablo con los negros” – “I don’t speak to blacks.” And the above is unacceptable. But John Barnes says: Barnes told BBC Radio Merseyside: "From a cultural point of view, [suarez] has been backed by people from Uruguay saying the word he used is not deemed as a racist term."As much as we will say that ignorance is no excuse, ignorance is an excuse. "Twenty years ago in England, the same people in England now condemning him were ignorant as to what racism is. Why don't they condemn themselves?" http://foreign.peacefmonline.com/sports/201112/86067.php So this is what John Barnes said, maybe Barnes hadn't heard what Suarez said in the first article. I thought it was just a word, not necessarily bad in Spanish. Apologies if this came off wrong from me. Still, Arsenal Wenger said players might say something in the heat of the moment in talking about John Terry: Wenger agreed Terry should be punished if found guilty of racially abusing QPR's Anton Ferdinand after the FA launched an investigation into events at Loftus Road last Sunday. But the Frenchman, who has taken abuse from rival supporters across the country for years, caused a surprise by speaking up for Terry and said the “passionate” situation should be taken into account. That goes against the general outcry from the rest of football and anti-racism campaigners, but Wenger says he felt some understanding towards Terry. “It came to me, how much credit can you give to something that is said on the pitch in a passionate situation? How deep do you read into it?" said Wenger, whose Gunners face Terry and Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday. “If you have played football, you have said something to your friends; sometimes that they are an idiot – but you do not really think he’s an idiot. http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/John-Terry-racism-probe-Arsene-Wenger-defends-Terry-over-heat-of-the-moment-remarks-article822700.html I still think that the Liverpool supporters and management think a different situation occurred and this is why they have not set Suarez out to dry. I will read the full FA report later. I still can empathize that a South American Spanish speaker might see things differently, yes, he is in England and in NOT in South America, that is a valid point. The below article even states that Suarez's grandfather was black. Pro MUFC website has this: LFC considers racism in any form to be unacceptable – without compromise. It is our strong held belief, having gone over the facts of the case, that Luis Suarez did not commit any racist act. This is the crux of the whole argument and where obviously the FA and Liverpool disagree – as well as Evra and Suarez. When the club states: “any form of racism.” Is not calling someone a name based on their race, during a heated argument when they obviously find it offensive, racist? If someone calls me ‘black’ thats not racist but if during a game they repeatedly call it me while were arguing then surely that is. Negrito may not be racist when said in a certain way or in the usual context just as calling me black isn’t but when it’s said during an argument, then repeated and obviously offends the recipient, I’d argue, as the FA arguably have, that it is. http://redflagflyinghigh.com/2011/12/blogs/deconstructing-liverpools-luis-suarez-statement My home computer is slow, I never would be able to find all these articles in a short time period. But to me, that word bolden above was what it was all about. When Clubs like Man Utd. and Liverpool play each other, no telling what might happen, they sort of hate each other. Not totally easy for me to call this when considering all factors. I'm not convinced Suarez meant to be all that malicious. What if Evra called Suarez a "South American" on the pitch which one poster said he did? Could all that have started this? That is more research, sorry for the long post. See, I don't know if Evra called Suarez this or a "Sudaca" meaning South American but it has been reported, this is a Liverpool webpage, I'd need of course, neutral verification of this, http://www.anfieldroad.com/news/lfc/2011-12-19/5526/will-suarez-evra-verdict-help-fight-discrimination.html/ One more factor. Sudaca doesn't sound like a nice word. Change up in topic, per Chelsea: The Chelsea attacker Mata looks a lot like the Chelsea manager A Valles Boa, at least to me. I think that's part of Chelsea's problem, their manager just looks too young to be in that position. I'm sure Valles Boa is a competent professional and manager, Chelsea had big big problems again today.
Stuart Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 I don't think John Barnes would have made the comments he did if Suarez wasn't a Liverpool player...
Backroom DE. Posted February 12, 2012 Backroom Posted February 12, 2012 I don't think John Barnes would have made the comments he did if Suarez wasn't a Liverpool player... This is the same John Barnes who said "Ignorance is an excuse". His opinion means nothing.
Majiball Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Draw please Really? We have some tricky games coming up wolves and QPR not so tricky. All I want this year is 17th.
Sparky Marky Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Really? We have some tricky games coming up wolves and QPR not so tricky. All I want this year is 17th. How do you define tricky? Notlob at home was obviously tricky.
