Majiball Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 How do you define tricky? Notlob at home was obviously tricky. OK replace tricky with difficult. Aggy, Happy days and Woy we love you!
Ossydave Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 I reckon it might even have been our Keiths goal that got us out the bottom 3? What a good lad!
Majiball Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 I reckon it might even have been our Keiths goal that got us out the bottom 3? What a good lad! Keith did something good for Rovers??? I'm lost for words.
roversmum Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 I reckon it might even have been our Keiths goal that got us out the bottom 3? What a good lad! Once a Rover ...
jrabrfc Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Mick McCarthy sacked by Wolves. And still Kean keeps his job. Wolves Statement
LeChuck Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Mick McCarthy sacked by Wolves. And still Kean keeps his job. Wolves Statement That could be bad news for us, depending on who they get in. Wolves have looked certs for relegation for a while.
Audax Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Drogba missed a penalty kick in the 70th minute of the African Nations, Zambia won 8-7 over Ivory Coast in a penalty shootout. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2012/02/ivorians-weep-blame-drogba-for-lost/ http://www.chelsea.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=527828 Nigeria missed going to the African Cup of Nations, Yak scored, Odemwingie got a hat trick for WBA over the weekend. In a way, International Play is not easy to judge, I think Nigeria surely sends the most players to the big leagues in Europe yet their tournament play is a bit spotty. Sometimes I think of them as the "England of Africa" per international football. Of course, Zambia winning is a cinderella story, so good for them, CONGRADULATIONS Zambia.
Backroom DE. Posted February 13, 2012 Backroom Posted February 13, 2012 Was pleased to see Zambia win the tournament, especially with the back-story behind it all. Amusing that the best paid players in the Ivory Coast team (Drogba & Yaya aside) missed their penalties. Gervinho was an absolute coward and had to be practically forced into taking a pen. Unbelievable that a man who makes so much money as a "top" striker is afraid of taking a penalty.

Unbelievable that a man who makes so much money as a "top" striker is afraid of taking a penalty. There's so much more at stake for the Ivory Coast players than for a "regular" professional player, though. Both Gervinho and Drogba have taken active roles trying to contain a civil war in Ivory Coast for several years, acting on their status as stars and travelling into burning war zones to mediate and display some sort of hope. Millions of people look up to them, relies on them to get some optimism in their lives. I don't think the pressure when they go up to the penalty spot in an ACN final can be compared to any other sports related situation TBH.
Backroom DE. Posted February 13, 2012 Backroom Posted February 13, 2012 I still think a striker playing in the top league in the world and being paid an eye-watering sum to do so should be prepared to take a penalty kick. Out of 11 players on the team I think Gervinho was 8th to take a pen? Drogba stepped up and was counted as the last of the main 5 penalty takers. Had missed earlier on too, so fair play to him.
rovers11 Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 Not prem news but Lee Clark has been sacked as Huddersfield manager. Madness!
Kamy100 Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 Not prem news but Lee Clark has been sacked as Huddersfield manager. Madness! They probably sacked him before he quit. Probably off to Leeds.
LeChuck Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 They probably sacked him before he quit. Probably off to Leeds. Why would they do that? Doesn't sacking involving a pay off? If he quits for another job then they'd have a case for compensation from Leeds.
rovers11 Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 They probably sacked him before he quit. Probably off to Leeds. Bizarre. Why sack him before he quits? Surely they would be due compensation if he left for another job but now they have to pay him off...
Mattyblue Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 Just had a ganders at a Hudds forum and about half of the posters are fairly happy about it!
rovers11 Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 Just had a ganders at a Hudds forum and about half of the posters are fairly happy about it! That's madness. They won't get anyone better than him. He is excellent at that level. Although, I always do wonder how they never seem to lose a match yet never get promoted.
Amo Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 They probably sacked him before he quit. Probably off to Leeds. That sounds like Venky's logic. Not that Kean would ever quit.
imy9 Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 That sounds like Venky's logic. Not that Kean would ever quit. ?? Lol
gumboots Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 ?? Lol What wouldn't you give for Clarke's win % of 49%?
speeeeeeedie Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 I didn't know exactly where to stick this (I couldn't find the where are they now thread). David Bentley is after a loan move to the USA to get back on track; Bentley MLS summer plans. This one is a question of what if? I wonder what he would have been like if he stayed for another year?
Mattyblue Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 Not the first and won't be the last to dissapear out the side and up their own backside at Tottenham.
imy9 Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 What wouldn't you give for Clarke's win % of 49%? Sorry Gumboots nothing to do with Clarke, Topman said I was trolling on a Kean thread...about Kean, yet on a 'other pl thread' he brings up Kean and Venkys...again, thought it ironic

Sick to death of thinking about the fool!
Roverdale Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 I didn't know exactly where to stick this (I couldn't find the where are they now thread). David Bentley is after a loan move to the USA to get back on track; Bentley MLS summer plans. This one is a question of what if? I wonder what he would have been like if he stayed for another year? He could well be the best English right winger around. One of the best end products I've ever seen.. It's a tragedy what happened to the lad. (Although it's 100% his own fault)
