Tyrone Shoelaces Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 I have to agree. I too would prefer United to win the league. Never , I hate the Red Rats.

Doug Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 And we won it with the 3 foreigner rule in place! Keep the prem title to a minimum of winners! Come on Utd! Edit: I think the 3 foreigner rule was in place, (poss champs league) but I may have had a senior moment there.
Audax Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 I thought Balotelli started out this season like he could potentially be a great.... and that excited a lot of people, don't mean to be critical but he seems to have really let up.
neekoy Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 I want City to win it, I like Mancini, especially the way he has handled Tevez, as long as Liverpool or Tottenham never get it again I will be happy.
CheeseOnToast Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Never , I hate the Red Rats. This, I can't stand how they're acting like the righteous and just owners of the Premier League who are bravely standing up against the evil, money-spending Manchester City. I Man United are spending disgusting amounts of money on their team as well, people just don't notice because they've been doing so for decades. Rubbish.
Mattyblue Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Doesn't make any odds to us who wins it. Though the longer Blackburn Rovers are just one of four names on the trophy the better, I imagine the PL bigwigs and sponsors want to scratch our name out every time they see it.
philipl Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 City supporters are soppy aren't they? Cannot remember tears at Ewood when they came here and beat us 3-2 putting a dent in our hopes in our Championship-winning season. Anyway, City fans needn't worry- we are going to do the double over their red neighbours this season.
adopted scouser Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Don't you think this title race is similar to 1995 ? United vs .new club with money ? So much animosity to United but the league doesn't lie, they're at the top because they are the best, no ? City supporters are soppy aren't they? Cannot remember tears at Ewood when they came here and beat us 3-2 putting a dent in our hopes in our Championship-winning season. Anyway, City fans needn't worry- we are going to do the double over their red neighbours this season. Altrincham ?
Ozz Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Don't you think this title race is similar to 1995 ? Been thinking that all season Nick.
philipl Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Chelsea home and Stoke and Arsenal away are 3 of City's 4 next fixtures. Despite my brigado about us doing the double, United's next three away fixtures are Wolves, Rovers and Wigan! Looking at the United run in, it is quite easy to see them winning every game except the Manchester derby fixture. City will be doing well to be only 3 points behind their neighbours by the time they meet in the Council House on 30 April.

They always have and always will be arse-licked by the media, It's just one of the many reasons why I detest them, probably as much as the Dingles.
alexanders Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 We will always have Andy Townsend on FIFA mentioning how we won Premier League in 94/95 with help of Jacks money.
Backroom DE. Posted March 12, 2012 Backroom Posted March 12, 2012 Don't really think it's fair to compare City to us. Yes we spent a lot building up to the 94/95 season but our spending was bankrolled by a local fan of the club, not a middle-eastern bloke needing a new toy to play with. Also, in the 94/95 season Utd spent practically the same as us if not more, didn't they? Edit: They spent 8.25M and we spent £1.8M in 94/95. We admittedly spent a lot in 93/94 (although the website counts Sutton as 93/94, I thought he was bought at the start of the 94/95 season?)

Also, in the 94/95 season Utd spent practically the same as us if not more, didn't they? I believe Utd did spend more that year. There is no comparison. We made astute signings with our money, we didn't pay through the nose like City have done by trying to put together an all-star side. Case in point: Shearer Bought for £3.3m. Sold for £15m. Robinho Bought for £32.5m. Sold for £15m.
Backroom DE. Posted March 12, 2012 Backroom Posted March 12, 2012 Sorry Toppers, edited my post after a quick bit of research Overall United had a decent net spend to be fair to them. But we were building a team from a lower division to compete in the top league so it's no surprise we had to spend more. As you say, we spent very wisely on decent players, not superstar names.

winstonsmith Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Zb5obN_Hfg Soft get ! There were still 10 minutes to go ! Sorry City, but I would prefer it if Rovers remained one of only 4 teams to have won the PL.
LeChuck Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Zb5obN_Hfg Tough being a City fan. Haha. I hope for his sake he was hammered, otherwise he really needs to get a life...
Backroom DE. Posted March 12, 2012 Backroom Posted March 12, 2012 He's tweeted Soccer AM telling them he was the "crying City fan" and applied to Big Brother so it doesn't look like he's particularly ashamed.
LeChuck Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Last day of the season/cup final then fair enough, I'm sure we've all done it or been close, but one result in March? Worrying.

It is no good comparing centre forwards ...Because to mind Alan Shearer is the greatest centre forward Rovers ,England and the premier league have ever had !!! Those seasons he had in a Blue n'white shirt , I will cherish until the day I die !!!
Backroom Tom Posted March 12, 2012 Backroom Posted March 12, 2012 I wonder how vinjay feels after switching his support to City
Audax Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 City spends a lot but MUFC have and have done so for years to have some of the best players, Ronaldo and others.
BiggusLaddus Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 I wonder how vinjay feels after switching his support to City That's probably him crying.
imy9 Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Putting it into context we broke the British transfer record twice with Shearer and then Sutton, we also broke the transfer record for a British goalkeeper, so we were spending in excess of most teams in the country. Man City are outspending most teams at the moment but compared to Chelsea or Man United how far are they? I would say we got more value for money but how good is Toure at 15 million or Joe Hart at 200k or Aguero at 30 million?
