Some of the lower teams defences are terrible yeah, but look at Bilbao stuffing the top team in the Premiership, could well be an all Spanish CL final and 3 of the last 4 in the Europa League are Spanish too.

This is definitely La Liga's period of dominance.

Bilbao didn't just beat United though, they utterly destroyed them. I work with a United fan who actually goes to games and he said that if Bilbao had won the first leg 6-1 it wouldn't have flattered them. The away leg was pretty much the same. And that's the team who are 8th or 9th in La Liga playing our champions-elect!

And Sky still peddle that rubbish about the Prem being the best league in the world!

I caught the LFC/Villa game this morning on MOTD. Could help notice how few away fans Villa brought. They had the smallest possible section of the Anfield Rd end, and there were plenty of empty seats. So I guess only a couple of hundred of them bothered?

Just more evidence of how referee's approach the big club's games differently. Rooney should have been booked for a nasty tackle and got away scott free - then the ref gives a penalty for a dive and couldn't get his red card out quick enough.

I think it's unfair to put the blame fully with the ref, by the book it's a red if it's a foul, Young should be punished after the game IMO

I was talking about the ref's approach to the game Tom. Can't wait to get the red out*, yet where there's a certain yellow, he looks at that differently. The mindset is different determined by the colour of the shirt.

In fact, Jamie Rednapp has just used those exact words.

danny wellbeck is rubbish, score ffs. As far as utd's homegrown players go he seems a lot more in the wallwork/chadwick mould than the scholes/giggs mould.
