I think it's unfair to put the blame fully with the ref, by the book it's a red if it's a foul, Young should be punished after the game IMO

If the FA are serious about stamping out diving, then they need to start making a stance. With proper punishments of red cards on the pitch and reds by panel review they could get rid within a month.

The truth is they aint bothered unless a big club is negatively affected. Todays decision will be pardoned with the pandering of that QPR were unlikely to win at Old Trafford anyway, just as Wigans was at Chelsea yesterday.

Pretty sure if the tackle by Rooney was on him rather than by hm it would have been yellow card too. Do you think Rooney would have got a red for a challenge like Modestes yesterday?

Rooneys tackle in some cases would be a red, no attempt to get the ball and he was just kicking out becuase he lost it. I remember an even worse one he got away with at ewood 3-4 years ago

As much as I want another four for our sake, football is a f***ing joke. In full view of the lino he's a mile offside, then dives like a cissy with virtually no contact from the left back. Young you're a disgrace.

Yep, yep and... yep.

United have such an average team. To call the Premiership "the best league in the world" is a joke when you consider that team are 8 points clear at the top of the table. Bilbao put them in their place a few weeks ago, they'd get destroyed by Barca or Madrid.

Red card for some handbags by Modesete, yet Balotelli could have broke Song's leg and not even a foul.

Dear me.

City know they are part of the PL elite when that kind of thing happens. I'm not convinced the ref or lino spotted it. If the PL/FA don't take action on Tuesday, then it's conspiracy theory time.

Tell you what, I would be very upset if I was a QPR fan this afternoon. The linesman has badly let them down. It wasn't even a difficult one. Makes you wonder what goes through their minds.

The league looks like being over, city's demise is akin to the famous keenan's Newcastle meltdown.

I can see Balotelli being used as a scapegoat

City's choke is on a par with any one of Arsenal's famous collapses. No wonder United win the title all the time, they're the only team with any balls.

Just a shame that most of the officials who rock up at Old Trafford don't have any.

Vieria's comments on Scholes (his comeback was a sign of weakness), are looking a bit stupid now - saw the stat earlier, since he came back, Utd have collected 34 out of 36 points in the league.

Ferguson is the master of all he surveys, that United team aint all that, but he has instilled such a will to win and he is feared by the PL, the FA, refs, opposing managers.

£500m spent by City and they can't even mount a serious title challenge.

And people have the nerve to compare them to us?

Allegedly and doing the rounds on Twitter that Balotelli got smacked by Kompany, like i said allegedly.

Talksport suggested after the match that somebody in the City dressing room had chinned Balotelli. Would be surprised if it was Kompany, he's one of the few players there I actually respect.

I'm just glad we get to keep it to 4 winners, calm the cocky city lot down!

It will be interesting to see what happens at City , their owners have not got anything like the same affinity with the club as Jack Walker had with Rovers ..

Another blank season , as far as the league is concerned .They have the champions league ,but they really need to finish above Man U ..

How long before the owners start to get bored ???? If they did , it would be some meltdown and at a very fast rate ...

Mind games John ;) It didn't work though! Probably motivated him more.

You've reminded me, Hughesy; I've not had a text from that cocky City b'stard; sorry; that should read, "my esteemed former-colleague of the Citeh persuasion" for days now.

I might just have to text him to check that he's not sick [as a parrot :D ]!

On second thoughts, I'd better not; he knows where I live and he might send Balotelli round!

As a football fan I feel sorry for QPR and Wigan. As a Rovers fan I'm delighted.

Like others on here I am a bit non-plussed at a mediocre Man U team winning the title. For the amount of money Man City have spent they should have walked it - not that I would have been happy if they did win it. To me it went south when Tevez spat his dummy out. Him coming back shows that Mancini is not in charge.

If Arsenal had got their act together last summer after losing Fabregas and Nasri they would have been a lot closer. Bining Arshavin happened far too late.

Another thing I noticed over the last few games is the lack of people who can cross a ball. Far too may are scuffed, or hit the first defender.
