rog of the rovers Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Its that time of year again! Time to start planning those trips. Who does everyone want first up? Would you rather start the season at home or finish at home? Home on Boxing Day or home on New Years Day? I suspect, with the European Championships this time next year, they will squeeze the games in. This usually leads to midweek night matches, which in all honesty I love! Also lets see who is the first person to claim they've seen the fixtures (only to be proven wrong, come Friday morning)

MarkBRFC Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 I hope we start with a home game. Looks like there will be a New Years Eve fixture this season rather than a New Years Day one. Would rather home on boxing day i think. Also i think the FA Cup final clashes with league games again this season.
robbo_rovers Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Is it definitely Friday? I always thought they came out on a Thursday.
Hughesy Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Id like..... Away on the last day & Home on the 1st day please. Start with Everton @ Home, followed by Arsenal away. Finish season with West Brom away Boxing day away to Bolton New Years home to Wigan
Roverdale Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Home first game to Villa hoping they're still in tatters and without Bent, Downing or Young they're very average. Any new signings won't be able to gel for the first game hopefully. Away on the last day to West Brom.. Woeful side. Boxing Day home to Bolton New Years away at Wigan.
Iceman Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Please, let us not start away to one of the promoted teams. Home game against Man United 1st up, with Phil Jones starting.
Roversi Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Guarantee we will play United in the one of the first 3 games of the season
alexanders Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Going with my wife to London on the weekend around 11th of August. Hoping for a game in LDN so I will be able to make it.
Amo Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Wigan at home for the first game. Nice game to get the ball rolling.
Kiwiwannabe Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Is it definitely Friday? I always thought they came out on a Thursday. I checked with the club this morning and it is Friday the fixtures are released.
roversmum Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Now come on, folks, there's no need to ask. First match guaranteed to be Villa away.
Backroom Tom Posted June 13, 2011 Backroom Posted June 13, 2011 I imagine we'll play all teams home and away. I actually think our first game will be away at Swansea or QPR.

CAPT KAYOS Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 We tend to get one of the promoted clubs early doors so can see us playing one of them. The so called 'big clubs tend to get one of them also' , uncanny how Utd and Chelski seem to kick off with home games more than away. However just have a feeling we could be at a London club away - probably Chelski despit my previous comment So rather just our game - the predicition begins for what its worth -nothing Aston Villa v Notlob Chelski v ROVERS (Sun) Liverpool v WBA Man C v Sunderland Manu v QPR (Sat late k/o) Newcastle v Arsenal (Sun) Norwich v Everton (Sat early k/o) Spurs v Swansea Stoke v Fulham Wigan v Wolves
bennyboyt11 Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 I'm looking forward to the Carling Cup draw, will be nice to play someone other than Villa!
TugaysMarlboro Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 I know the person who does them, I doubt i'll manage it, but i'll see if I can find out a couple of fixtures.
A cup of beans Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 good work, rog! but 2011 Copa América runs from 1ST- 24TH JULY.
MarkBRFC Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 I'm looking forward to the Carling Cup draw, will be nice to play someone other than Villa! There is no reason why we can't draw Villa again in the carling cup this season! We probably will, would be nice to have them at home for a change though
Ralfinho Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 After a successful day out from the Golden Cup to Wolves on the final day of last season I will be putting more coaches on from there this coming season if anyone is interested
rog of the rovers Posted June 15, 2011 Author Posted June 15, 2011 good work, rog! but 2011 Copa América runs from 1ST- 24TH JULY. Thanks Zac Changed it. Also added the CONCACAF Gold Cup if anyone is interested!
chaddyrovers Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 I want a home game for the first game of the season, against newcastle or west brom or wovles. would always like a home game on the last day of the season and one on Boxing day. Also I don't want to play any of the top 6 in the first 6 games.
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted June 15, 2011 Moderation Lead Posted June 15, 2011 Nice local away game on boxing day, Wigan away the other year was ideal! Home to start and to finish, I don't want much do I? Ha
Pedderz0912 Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 I think our first game will be away to Fulham - I had a dream and we drew 1-1 but guess who scored our equaliser::::::: Jermaine Jones - Keep the faith he is going to sign
bennyboyt11 Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 There is no reason why we can't draw Villa again in the carling cup this season! We probably will, would be nice to have them at home for a change though Come on, what are the chances?! I might pay a visit to Coral to see what odds they'll give me on that... At least I'd gain some enjoyment from that result!
