Glenn Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 2011/12 Fixtures Announced BRFCS News Rovers kick off the 2011–12 season on Saturday, 13 August, with a home fixture against Wolves, our opponents in the dramatic final-day game of the last season. On the following Saturday, Rovers travel down to Villa Park for the first away game of the new season against Aston Villa before returning to Ewood to entertain Everton on the 27th. The Rovers' fixture list follows a strict home-away pattern until the end of November, with no mid-week games scheduled at present. The end of 2011 sees us travel away on both Boxing Day and New Year's Eve to Liverpool and Manchester United respectively, while the end of the season also has a tough look to it with Spurs away at the end of April and Chelsea away on Sunday, 13 May, in the final game of the season. To view the fixture list in full, please visit the Rovers official site. ------------------ Additional Note: To secure a licence for this site to display the fixtures (just for Rover's fixtures) would cost £662+VAT, money we'd much rather spend on a new server. We therefore must insist that once the fixtures are released they are NOT copied onto the site. Please discuss them, but do NOT under any circumstances cut and past the full list onto here. Blue n White Rover Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 I'm hearing we have Liverpool around Christmas time.
Bobby G Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 I think its Wolves at home for us. Tough X-mas and NY fixtures with Pool and United, and end the season at Chelsea.

Ralfinho Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Bolton at home 2 days before we finish for Xmas should also be fun
Iceman Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 pretty happy with the fixtures.. its by no means easy, but its not a bad 1st 5 games... Arsenal early, so a possible meeting with Samba. Wolves at home 1st is an opportunity to get an early win under our belt. COYB!
cn174 Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Villa first away game. Good, gets it out of the way and hopefully we wont have to go to Villa Park for over a year then. Gonna be a expensive Christmas!!
SharrockDownSouth Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Not a bad set of fixtures really... No big runs of games against the top 7 and a few months where we can target short runs of games to pick up points... My prediction, we hit 40 points with a win against Sunderland on 17th March...

I think we will be crowned champions on 21st April against Norwich
Iceman Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 I want a home game for the first game of the season, against wovles. Well done Chaddy Lad, although im not sure who wovles is.. sounds French
Herbie6590 Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 There's a great feature on the Sky Sports site where you can click on an icon next to the fixture & it adds it to your calendar....saved me hours of CTRL C CTRL V type stuff... http://www.skysports.com/football/calendar/0,25004,11676,00.html
Ricky Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 The only certainty for me was that we'd get Liverpool around my birthday. Birthday is 11th April, over the previous years we've had Liverpool on 4/4/04, 16/4/06, 13/4/08, 11/4/09, 9/4/12.
Bobby G Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Ricky, I had the same certainty about Arsenal in February as my birthday is on the 13th and we always have them right around that time.
thenodrog Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Points on the board will be needed to avoid the crap we had last season before we play MU on the 31st March. There might not be all that many available afterwards.
MarkBRFC Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Good to see the Easter Monday fixture returning, been a good while since we had one of those.
Clitherover Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 I'm happy with that set of fixtures, The tough games are spread about the season which is nice, although the Xmas period looks a bit tasty. Good time to play Villa away second game of the season as I can see Villa park being in serious unrest what with the whole Mc Leish appointment. Let's just hope it doesn't come down to the last game of the season like the one we've just had, because I don't fancy us away at Chelsea.

There might not be all that many available afterwards. ive looked at the entire list of fixtures. Apart from that Liverpool and Man United back to back fixtures, it is a list where we can lose a game, but win the next 2.. there is not a horrible run to be honest, where we play Arsenal, then Chelsea, the Tottenham. Its like Arsenal, then maybe home to West Brom and Newcastle as an example. Think with some good signings, that top 4, or 6 or 8 or 10 looks a good possibility
Ozz Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Full List http://www.rovers.co...03~2011,00.html Oooooh I prediced those fixtures exactly, but not quite in the same exact order.

Backroom Tom Posted June 17, 2011 Backroom Posted June 17, 2011 As silly as It sounds I'm happy with those they are quite balanced really with winnable games in every month. Plus it's better than Leeds and Doncaster etc
jim mk2 Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Think with some good signings, that top 4, or 6 looks a good possibility Oh my gawd.
misterbigalow Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 CHUFFED that Aston Villa away is on 20th August, my sister is getting married on that day, so I get to completely avoid that match, YAY! Nearly all of my family are Sunderland fans, with season tickets. What game is on 20th August? Sunderland v Newcastle. AHAHAHA! Even if its moved for Sky it'll probably be to 12:45 on the same day!
