Glenn Posted June 18, 2011 Author Posted June 18, 2011 Bleedin' Nora! How long before we have to pay to say "Blackburn Rovers"? Or any other club name for that matter? (it'll cost a tenner to say "Manchester United" and tuppence for "Blackburn Rovers" ) It's a fixture list for crying out loud...World's gone mad...wibble, wibble... It's been a hotly debated thing for years. I believe one of the pools companies first challenged it in the 60s and lost, and more recently Yahoo. http://www.lawinsport.com/index.php/articles/intellectual-property-law/1207-football-fixture-lists-protected-by-copyright We used to be able to partake in a scheme where (with the club's permission) we could get a license for £1 (and a lot of paperwork) but sadly that's not the case any more.

Interesting link there Glenn, I find this sort of thing just to be pure greed on the football leagues part. I mean serious what money loose the Premier League or the Football League by having the fixtures listed on a website. As the games start to get moved about due to weather, TV and other football competitions you would have thought that its in the Leagues interest to keep the fans up to date. Lee's said he'll put the usual ical export he does on the official site once the first round of sky changes come in. I've lived by iCal / Google Calendar for years, so I always pester him to do the iCal version. The Official Google Calendar ones auto update which is great. Boltons 1st 7 games.....what a run!! Either disaster start or a great one! QPR (Away) Man City (Home) Liverpool (Away) Man Utd (Home) Norwich (Home) Arsenal (Away) Chelsea (Home) Did Pompey not have a some crazy difficult start a few seasons ago? Personally playing the big teams in the first two weeks is a good time as there are lots of strange results then. Certainly would not like that as the run in at the end of the season with lots of points on the board.
philipl Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 We are going to have to get our away form going well or we will be in a horrible position with that run of CL-challegers coming to Ewood at the start of the season.
