Fancy a job writing for the mirror JIm i think you could fit in with their journalistic style (Nicko not included in this comment).

Yes, that's right, ignore any useful contributions from people actually in the know such as Nicko's recent inputs,

Nickoteens bloody paradise is this thread. :angry2: Get real children.... Alan Nixon only tells you what he wants you to know and not anything of actual value to him..... thats how he makes his living!

Surely you know the answer to that K-Hod? Obviously it's to get noticed by other clubs in the Prem. I'm sure that he has too. We have been a stepping stone club for some time now. Nowt wrong with that role but as supporters we need to learn to stop forming emotional attachments with any footballing journeymen and Carlos Kickaballs that sign meaningless pieces of paper every season.

Which therefore shows that Kean can attract people. Upcoming prospects such as Rochina and Formica, players of Jones calibre as a stepping stone (which is fine by me because the way to use us as a stepping stone is to earn a move, to our benefit), or indeed players who are after some money (which could be what is required to get some more quality in - not all those on high wages are time wasters - see Salgado).

To say Kean can't attract anybody as a blanket statement is ridiculous. True, he may put some people off signing, and true, the players he get in come end up not doing the job, but this can happen for anyone. How people can be so one sided in their negativity (not saying you) baffles me. They seem to be revelling in it, or at least enjoying playing misery guts. If there is one thing we know it is that confidence around the club can do a lot for a team. Our bad run coincided with Andrews being booed. Give people a chance (once again not aimed at you) and then make your mind up instead of writing us off on absolutely every tiny little thing that happens within the club and you'll probably feel better for it anyway.

If you look back at my posts I've received warnings in the past for disrupting threads by giving Nicko stick about why he is here. My point in that post is that Nicko is who the majority of people here want to hear from and read. I didn't mean anything else by it, but do carry on.

Why don't get behind the club and support them!!! Let's try to be positive about things.

Too many people look at the glass half empty instead of half full!!! :angry2::D:brfc:

We need to support the club though the good, the bad and ugly times!!! [/b

The time to judge the manager and the owners is at the end of this transfer window. Let's see who we sign and who we let go. We need 5 or 6 quality signings.

Samba hasn't said he's going yet. He said a couple of weeks ago that he will decided on who we buy and if the club is going to be challenge for Europe whether he stays or goes! If he leaves then he leaves for either Spuds or Arsenal to challenge to win trophies then fine. I will say thanks for your good performances for rovers and wish him all the best!

If Samba stays then GREAT for Rovers and the fans. Let's push on and challenge for Europe!

The 'I'm a bit too puffed out to wait until 11 o'clocker'...

There has been a lot going on in terms of talking to agents and the like today, finding out fees and wages for a couple or more targets.

VUCINIC...should be much clearer in the next few days...Roma'a main man coming to England for some transfer business...he is dropping hints about seeing Rovers during this trip...this is being treated with some surprise at this end...it sounds to me like he is trying to create an auction because Roma want the player sold...they have a new coach and a new regime...but they are trying to raise cash through sales...this one has to be watched very closely.

There may be a BENJANI line in the Mirror that would suggest he won't be back. Even if it is not used I don't think he will back.

MIRANDA...no further word...but I believe it is still 'live'...it needs to be as some of the prices for Premier League centre halves are just nonsense...never seen him play but a Brazil international for free HAS to be worth a look.

MIDFIELD...very interesting name popped up from one of the elite spies around here...yet to confirm...hope it's right...good, good player who hardly ever gets a mention but would be ideal.

That's all I have heard today Rovers-wise, but there is probably much more going on that has yet to surface.

There are all sorts of clubs chasing targets and running into brick walls at the moment. It's the time of year when people find out that it isn't as straightforward as it looks.

And that goes to the top too - ask Man U, Man City and Chelsea.

But from indications I would say this may be the busiest transfer window for some time - all round.

Thanks for the update Nicko. You're more positive about Rovers than some of our own fans...

And how do you know it is pretty much nail on the head?

Edit - Also learn how to quote.

Without going too deep into it, just a couple of facts, rovers struggling to keep hold of thier main talent. True.

Jones didn't think twice about leaving (although I don't blame him). True.

I am ever the optimist but also a realist, unlike some.

As for learning how to quote that's just my phone and it's stupid set up not that I should have to explain myself to you.

If my phone made me look like a moron I wouldn't post on my phone.

Struggling to keep hold of our main talents? Samba has wanted out for quite some time and Jones didn't think twice about leaving because he joined Manchester United. These players aren't leaving for Stoke. Jermaine Jones is interested in signing and Hoilett is interested in a new contract. Robinson seems settled, as does Olsson. These players are going to be important to us and haven't hinted at unhappiness. The others would have gone anyway.

Excellent article in the Mirror - thanks for whoever provided the link. It touches on the biggest problem Rovers have in trying to make new signings - Steve Kean. Why would any decent player want to come to Rovers to play for him ?

You and your ilk, are backing yourselves into a corner that you'll struggle to get out of if you’re not careful.

The wind is turning Jim, I suggest you get on board or you’ll be left behind :D

Ps, I have no insider knowledge or agenda.

Asked a Spanish lad last night about this, he's pretty clued up with the goings on over there, although a Barca fan...

He agreed and signed an actual contract with them during the week.

They'll possibly get a full back to replace Ujfalusi (he'd swaped with Perea and gone to right full back in recent times)

That's his take on it anyway.

THAT IS THE CHARGE THAT I LEVELLED AT YOUR MATE WAGGY ON FREQUENT OCCASIONS. HE'S HAD TO GO TO DEEPEST DARKEST CAMBODIA TO GET OUT OF IT.

Ps, I have no insider knowledge or agenda. OBVIOUSLY.

I know you didn't mention them. You failed to mention them when talking of our best talent. Olsson being the one who could be there in a season or two.

It's statements like 'we can't keep hold of our best players' which spread the negativity, even though you claim to be a realist. A realist would look at things from a wider picture, rather than just making points on the verge of pointless with faux authority and finishing them with 'fact'.

That article never suggests that the problem is Steve Kean. Really the only thing the article suggests was caused by Keans management was the introduction of Junior as a talent. All other mentions are about him being worried.

Not only do you praise a negative story about BRFC but you had to make up some extra negative points that weren't even there

I'm liking the sound of this player Nicko mentioned who's good but rarely gets mentioned. Unlikely to be a drama queen and will get on with his job sufficiently. Likely to be a professional on many levels. And shows we aren't just going to blow it all on big time charlies. The fact we are looking at players like this can be seen as a positive in my eyes.

We must have the most negative supporters in the country, calm down we are in June still guys.

I totally agree Helka. Not many clubs have signed players with Chairman, Managers and Players all away on Holiday! Some clubs have been BUT not too many.

I hope we sign a couple of quality players in the next week or so, Just to calm people down on here abit!!!

I think the midfielder player is David Vaughan. Would be a good signing!

Sure I said struggling to keep hold of our best players not can't

In which case why does that make us any different to others around us? And why is that a change from the past. We don't have to sell, but if someone wants to leave then we will. Our players are moving on to better things, they aren't jumping ship and getting out while they can.
