it's about time Aguero moved on. He should be playing Champions League football and every year he stays at Athletico is a year where his talent is wasted in a lesser European competition, and domestically the best he can realistically hope for is for his team to finish 3rd.

Obviously it's nice for a player to be loyal to a club but if the club would also benefit from him leaving then it is win-win.

I don't watch as much La Liga as I do of the EPL but to me Augero is the best player not playing for the big 2 in Spain.

Piatti has deals in place with both AM and Udinese, I assume that Almeria have also accepted the bids from both clubs, is this why Nicko is saying we are over pricing him.

The clubs in for Piatti are Benfica and Udinese - if they ever sell Sanchez presumably. No price agreed. Benfica take forever, Udinese likewise. As of five minutes ago his agent knew nothing about Atletico Madrid joining in. I take it they would have to sell a few first.

Door open...walk through.

The player and his agent are both very keen on the Premier League.

But are we showing any signs of walking through?

Which of these signings would you say are likely to be sorted one way or another first?

Hopefully this will be an interesting week with the team due back

Are we actually making moves to sign Piatti or we just wasting time ?

If we have a chance of signing him we should be moving as fast as possible to sign this guy up but i get the feeling Rovers are just wasting time and another team like Spurs will move ahead of us and sign him.

Did we make an enquiry for Piatti and are weighing up whether or not to make a bid, or is his agent offering him around? Would love to see him in a Rovers shirt.

PIATTI...there is nothing to worry about re Atletico Madrid just yet...but Rovers need to get cracking with this one...of all the deals at the high end of the scale the wee man is the easiest to do...

I think this one is quite a good test of the ability to turn ambitions into realities.

It will make a statement and give all connected with the club a boost. Should also make the next deal or two a tad easier, has a domino effect.

I am led to believe that last week was spent identifying targets and working out which ones are affordable or not. That process is now complete. Rovers will now be moving forward and making bids for the players that I have identified over the next week or so. It seems that this whole process has been done in a very specific way with clear objectives and been handled by Kentaro.

Piatti is deffinately the name i'm most excited about. Proper winger, together with hoilett, the destruction that will be caused doesn't bare thinking about!

Thanks for that, Piatti would seem to be a problem for both clubs as is being mentioned in the topic now regarding none EU players. Shifting out one EU player to bring in another.

Theoretically he should be good - decent in the air also as well as a hard worker. However his acceleration and positional sense are poor. A decent winger would take him apart at left back.

I think you are right there about MGP as a FB. However I also have severe reservations about Ollson as an out and out LB too. As things stand at present I think he is too inexperienced in that position and it shows. His ability to read the danger signs and to choose the right option, along with the ability to read and position himself has been exposed many times to our cost. As he plays more and more as a wing back or a winger he will develop this skill and may eventually become a skillful FB, but not just yet.

He has Italian nationality so dont think it would be a problem

As far as I know and I am not in the loop regarding all of the targets, they are the ones that Nicko identified earlier today. Nicko is extremely well informed about all of what is going on at Ewood.

Sorry Kamy I was merely playing on the wording of your previous post.

Sounds very promising. Any idea on what the specific objectives were - ie are we targetting players based on the type of football kean wants to play or is it based on ability, price and future sell on value?
