Because this is without source. Whereas, say, with Phil Jones, they had their own footage, information and sources all over it.

At the end of the day, we have Nicko's word and The People/The Mirror. Take that whichever way you will.

Oh Yeah that's right, SSN never do rumours or unfounded stories

Yeah I agree with that. There has been a lot of hysterical views about Kentaro but we may be onto a winner if they can bag some of these players that have been mentioned.

I know some people will go on about how much money Kentaro will make on these deals but personally I don't think Venkys are in the business of being ripped off.

Hopefully we can bag some of these players then we can stick two fingers up at the rest of the football world who have been taking the pish out of us for the last few months !

Well sadly, it's a fair enough question. Agencies like Kentaro make what, anything from about 300k to 2 million on higher end deals like these, for helping arrange a transfer and contract (not much work for the scale of the money IMO). Now we've got them arranging the transfers (and presumably contracts) for all of our purchases as well as lining up the signings, and possibly assisting with departures too? All with their TOP people apparently. You can't help but wonder what our eventual bill for all this is going to be. I'd probably have to guess (operative word of course) that if we use them on six signings, it will cost us at least about 4 million? That's enough for a reasonable player. We can make bids and do contract negotiations ourselves, was our scouting network so inept we couldn't settle on our own targets too? Would the amount Kentaro -might- save us on contract and transfer negotiations be more than the amount they will charge us for their services? Will they be helping us get players we couldn't get without them? You don't need to be a football genius to see that somebody like Piatti is oozing with talent, half the people on here seem to be aware of that.

And I don't need anybody jumping on me saying stop being so negative or something, I just think they're interesting questions that merit consideration.

I'm also wondering something that maybe Nicko could help us out with...how many (or are ANY) of the targets Nicko named are Kentaro-represented?

Cisse's agent says our scouts have watched him around ten times.

My link

So, as a club, we've been watching him a while, but Kentaro will be doing the deal? Hopefully they can drive a hard bargain regarding wages. ;)

So Nicko's stuff counts as "rumours" or "unfounded stories?" ;)

I tease. :P

The rumours, and by rumours I mean rumours within football circles, not down the pub, are that Kentaro made circa 3million from the January deals alone. That's pretty hefty considering the deals were only reported to add up o around this price.

Make of that what you will. If they can bring in quality players that we wouldn't have otherwise been able to get and do it above board, then I have no issue with their involvement.

It's not like other agents/advisors etc. are for free though.

Well, exactly. It's probable that we'd have to pay the players' agents ON TOP of what we pay Kentaro. If you mean "well, whatever advisors we hired, we'd have to pay", my point is that we already have staff at the club who usually handle these things (unless it really all came down to JW and Finn before), so we shouldn't really need third party advisors.

Kenwoo, I heard about those rumours too, but since they're just rumours I didn't come up with a figure commensurate with them...especially since that'd be about £50 million!

Splitscreen, that's another potential worry. You'd expect Kentaro will try to get players on our books onto their books, since it's easy for them to loiter round the training grounds. If that starts happening, doesn't bother me- except that if other agents catch wind they might want to stop doing business with us for fear of losing clients.

Got a feeling everything should start kicking off today. :)

http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Transfer-news-Manchester-United-bid-for-Thiago-Alacantara-of-Barcelona-article752948.html

This has got me thinking:

A) Season long loan for us, if they're looking to "farm him out?"

B) Is there a similar buy-back clause in our deal with Barça for Rochina?

Any thoughts, Nicko? Or, indeed, anyone else?

Barca do have a buy back clause for Rochina.
