I've got to say, that's a bit harsh on Keane. Let's not forget that he's scored 51 international goals in what has recently been quite a poor Ireland team over a long period of time. Given the right environment and game time, of which he will have both at Ewood, Keane has plenty to offer. He just needs to settle down at one club and be given games.

I would personally pay 5 million for him, although that would only be as long as his wages/signing on fee etc. were suitable for our wage structure.

This could be a great move for both Keane and Rovers and would dramatically improve our strike force.

I'm against the Keane signing, especially if it turns out our so called 'large transfer budget' has to take into account not only transfer fees but the wages have to come from that total budget as well. Keane would cost £5m? He's currently on wages of £70-80k at Spurs, meaning we would probably have to pay him around £50-60k minimum on a 3-4 year deal.

Rovers might as well throw money away.

No offence Jamie but I fail to understand your point of view.

Did you see him against us? He is barely an improvement on Roberts and that is saying something. Five million on Keane and nothing on a left back? Olsson is not a defensive player, no matter how much Kean tries to force it. Even if Givet stays, we need cover.
