Veevs Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 A lot of angry and conflicting vibes...hopefully some heads get cleared fast. You are on the brink of something pretty good here. DON'T BLOW IT. I presume the don't blow it is aimed at a particular party, has to be manager, managment team, venkys or kentaro.. sounds pretty scary, 5 posts of oh christ what next. So I presume the only movement made was a bid for Keane?

texasrover Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 at least all of this madness is being contained inside of an online forum (for now). Things would be a whole lot more tense if the rest of the footballing world knew about all of this.
Roberto Policano Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Guess...... now Kentaro have come back and said we can do better and for cheaper! Agree with that.Should move for top manager too.
Veevs Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 If the BBC ever want to do a football version of In The Loop they should give me a bell. There is a ready-made script here. So we have muiltiple factions.. probably Manager/Mrs Desai and Kentaro/The brothers Agree with that.Should move for top manager too. lol might be where the rumblings about Kean/Hughes came from.
USABlue Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 If you knew some of things going on behind the scenes in the past 48 hours you would realise why I am staying quiet. It is a case of being struck dumb. If the BBC ever want to do a football version of In The Loop they should give me a bell. There is a ready-made script here. Ffs. Some things are going on that are just too bizarre. Congratulations to the local paper for following the Sunday People on Keane while we are at it. I am saying no more. It is probably for the best in the meantime. Some people need to get a grip...and fast. You referring to folks here or the brain trust at Rovers/ I'm sticking with my original gut feeling too, nothing's going to happen. Keane maybe.
Fraserkirky Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 My guess is that we got cold feet on the Cisse deal.
Iceman Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 My guess, is that transfer budget and targets were agreed by all parties. However, now its changed, and certain individuals are not happy? there is a conflict of interest, and a bit of infighting is starting to happen? we are ###### around with our targets, by offering low wages and them walking away? like I said yesterday, why when budgets and targets have been agreed, has not one single bid been made yet? this meeting to discuss players, were not done yesterday, it was done weeks ago.so my guess is the 3 above, where the agreed budget and targets, have suddenly changed.
walk down bolton road Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 I am going to take a vow of silence on this one for a bit. There is just too much nonsense going on in some quarters. If things become public I will add what I can. If moves start happening then I will pitch in too. But this is just too strange and needs time to be played out without running commentary. Who makes the decisions at BRFC KEAN,KENTARO,VENKYS,it looks like nobody can decide, this hesitation over transfers could cost us very dear.
texasrover Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 i just hope it doesn't have anything to do with mr. hoilett's contract.
Kamy100 Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 To say that the last 24 hours or so have been bizarre would be an understatement. Can't go into it but people at the club need to get their act together or they will screw things up. They also need to get their act together because Junior's dad arrives for contract talks today. Equally bizarre is the decision to try and sign vetean goal keeper Tony Warner.
chaddyrovers Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Let's hope we get GOOD news from Rovers in the next couple of days about Hoilett signing a new 5 year contract! (I hope anyway )
BangkokRover Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Juniors Dads contract talk will be 80K a week please or we are off. Why on earth should Junior stay at Rover when we are in this current mess?
chaddyrovers Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 I reckon we have agreed contract terms with Cisse but can't agree a transfer fee for Cisse with Frieburg! Or he will go to Russia instead of coming to rovers! We need to get our act together and get the deals done that Kean wants! I wonder if the owners or Kentaro and Kean have had a disagreement about transfer money or transfer targets!
howzat Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 looks like its all going tits up. Why am i not surprised.
imy9 Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Hey? Why are we trying to sign a 37 year old goalkeeper from Tranmere?
Tardyrover Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Whatever happened to the saying 'paper talk' !!!
imy9 Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Kamy's info is top notch so there will be substance to what he says- I would like one question answered if possible-who is choosing targets Kean/Raos/Kentaro and who has final say?
Taggart Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Why cna you not go a bit more in to it Kamy ? would it make things worse for the club or have an impact ? i.e it may get used by the sniffers around here and appear on the news sites and create bad publicity ? I must say, we don`t really need mutiny on the ship leading to pre-season, I would ahve thought the business owners would have had their model nailed on and the deciison making tree already established, therfore I think it may be somethign to do with the brothers and Mrs Desai disagreeing. Either way, we still have a long way to go and plenty of time to sign people, wish people wouldn`t get so hot and cold in the same day as soon as they hear snippets of info, its all high as a kite, and then near rusty razor blades in the bath time when they get some bad info.
chaddyrovers Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Come on Rovers and Kean can we have some positive news this week about Hoilett contract or signing Cisse or Piatti. we need a good signing to prove to us the fans that we are MOVING FORWARD as a club and we will not be battling at the bottom of the PL again like last season!
BangkokRover Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Kamy's info is top notch so there will be substance to what he says- I would like one question answered if possible-who is choosing targets Kean/Raos/Kentaro and who has final say? and are we ever going to be told what happened, if not why bother talking about it.
BRFC1995 Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Hey? Why are we trying to sign a 37 year old goalkeeper from Tranmere? because ince is still here signing spice boys, unreal if true very fowleresque
BangkokRover Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Hey? Why are we trying to sign a 37 year old goalkeeper from Tranmere? He started his career at Liverpool he earned the nickname Tony Bonus, due to him receiving many win bonuses as a non-playing substitute, without ever playing a senior game for the club - where he spent the first nine years of his career there.
UtopianParadigm Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 He started his career at Liverpool he earned the nickname Tony Bonus, due to him receiving many win bonuses as a non-playing substitute, without ever playing a senior game for the club - where he spent the first nine years of his career there. He's also a bloody awful 'keeper!
rovers1623 Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 I think the first person that we need to tie up is Jermaine Jones. He wants to come to us, played well from the day that we'd signed him and is just what we require. We need to get rid of some dead wood in midfield and replace them with at least one quality midfielder and maybe a younger midfielder too. Hopefully Formica can prove that he was worth taking a risk on. We need at least one more defender with Jones already gone and the chances of keeping Samba look faint at best. I still believe in Kallinic and would like to keep him, though i feel that he would not want another season like the previous two which is bound to do his confidence no favours, however, we do need reinforcements. Either way, we are going to see a very different rovers next season and hopefully they can hit the ground running, but if deals don't go through soon, i'm not sure whether this will happen as there will be quite a few new faces in the starting 11.
