Thanks for the responses guys and girls, I just wondered if I had missed a trick. To be honest, I think Kean deserves a summer after keeping us up last year. If all isn't well after ten games, then we move on but on the strength of character he has shown thus far, he deserves a chance next year. Although results weren't great, to take fifteenth in such a baptism of fire with such a hostile crowd in your first managerial role isn't actually that bad. In fairness, it's probably around the places where we have come to find ourselves, with such a tight strain on finances over the last five years or so, in particular.

I also don't buy all this, 'i'm not playing for Kean rubbish' that some people believe is happening right now. Most clubs haven't actually conducted any business so far, so I don't understand why some people are panicking. I agree some names do help to attract better players, obviously, but that isn't the case at Ewood right now, regardless of what David Anderson in the Mirror suggests.

MIDFIELD...very interesting name popped up from one of the elite spies around here...yet to confirm...hope it's right...good, good player who hardly ever gets a mention but would be ideal.

My guess would be Diamé from Wigan, even if I'm desperately hoping that we'll keep out of the complete mayhem that is transfers between PL teams.

do we have scouts at the u17 world cup?

Not sure we need scouts now given the apparent way we do business. It is rumoured that there is some frustration in that part of the club's operation.

personally I think venkys are going to try and go down the Portugal way of bringing in players and dipping into the Brazil market, how many unknown Brazilians have started there trade in the Portuguese league and went onto bigger things, I think Porto are a great example of this, no English team have ever done this to the extreme of teams like Porto, I think its a great idea and only be good for the future of Blackburn rovers

Have you considered the difficulty of getting work permits? I know Arsenal managed to get work permit for Denilson, and that there is an opening for 'extraordinary talents', but I think we'll struggle to bring in too many players without farming them out first.

I hope Unleaded will have some info during the summer about targets from the U17 and U20 World Cups, will be some gems involved there. I have always enjoyed his posts.

Mercerman, regarding our scouts having no say in transfer matters anymore: I saw that mentioned earlier as well, but where does that information come from? If we aren't doing business that way anymore and purely relying on Kentaro relations we might as well get rid. Not saying we shouldn't use our scouts, but if we aren't...

Now there's a surprise one of the doom merchants saying 'it is rumoured' followed by more guff.

Does not work in England for two reasons..

Brazilians speak portugese (slightly dif but still portugese)

The rules on work permits are way diff 90% of those guys would not of been allowed to even get of a plane in England.

Hopefully 11=12 will line up as such:

Robinson

Corchina (le mans) Miranda Givet (if Samba goes) Olsson

Bentley Kayal Jones Gamst

Hoilett/Macheda Llorente

Corchina - 4million

Kayal - 6 million

Jones - 4 million

Bentley - 6 million

Macheda - loan/4 million

Miranda - FREE

Llorente - 10 million

Total 34 million

I'd say it was a great young team ... Robbo as the oldest player! Full of potenctial and a new target man in LLorente!

id like to see

Robbo

Aurier , Mills , Miranda , Warnock

Hoillet , Nzonzi , Krancjar , Olsson

Formica

Pavlyuchenko

VUCINIC...should be much clearer in the next few days...Roma'a main man coming to England for some transfer business...he is dropping hints about seeing Rovers during this trip...this is being treated with some surprise at this end...it sounds to me like he is trying to create an auction because Roma want the player sold...they have a new coach and a new regime...but they are trying to raise cash through sales...this one has to be watched very closely.

As much as I would LOVE to sign Vucinic I am 99% certain that he and his agent are using us in order to get a bigger wage at Juventus who is realistically who he wants to sign for. This may well be a case of stating the obvious but I just cannot see him joining us...he is far too good.

Is that your take on it Nicko or what do you reckon?

I am going to spend the next couple of minutes daydreaming as to what damage we could do next year with Hoillet playing the free role just behind Vucinic

Are you being serious. I think a comment like that should lead to a three day ban. ha

ha ha ha. maybe a little extreme. But I agree that the notion of Essien coming to Rovers is a little farfetched to say the least
