There is a reassuringly large gap between what Rovers offered for Robbie Kean and what Spurs want for him. I would ordinarily say I'd want that gap to stay that way but we are so bereft of striking talent, we could do worse.

I think anything over 3m for Keane would be bad business, people forget he's only 30yrs and he's still a decent player if we can get him for the right price.

Alternatively, many posters prefer happy delusions.

Look at who is posting the warning messages- I have kept off this board deliberately.

We don't prefer happy delusions philip, we just prefer not to apply a 'doomsday' scenario to every bit of news and are willing to assess the situation, rather than slate the owners at every bit of news. The owners have been giving out so many mixed signals since the takeover, it is hard to believe what they say.

We're willing to give them time, and judge them when we feel appropriate. Now isn't that time, regardless of what is going on behind the scenes.

Apparently 5 clubd have made an offer on Neymar. Price will be 40m... Man City, Real Madrid and Anzhi(!!?!) is among the bidders.. Surely Venkys can't be that crazy?

I wouldn't rule it out. Perhaps you should all see what odds you can get. ;)

The most worrying aspect it that we have an excellent young 'keeper, Jake Kean, coming through in the Reserves which is why Fielding was allowed to leave. Is it possible that the club are interested in Warner as an Academy goalkeeping coach, particularly as he has links with Lowe? If Kean is looking to sign Warner as a player, then it really is worrying.

Thus far, for all the talk of excellent targets, it would appear the ageing Robbie Keane and a 37-year-old 'keeper are likely to be the first arrivals. Hardly going to set the world alight in terms of season ticket sales.

Why do we need one? Surely if the likes of Fielding and Kean are coming through then our current one is doing very well?

Right! Had enough.

I sincerely wish I hadn't renewed my season ticket now. We get nothing but bullshite and no action from Rovers and I've had my fill. ###### off Venkys and take your bald parrot with you.

I have met many people who feel like this and IMO a fan uprising/furor is about the only thing that will force change in Venky's through crisis.

The one silver lining I see in all this is that Venkys want even BIGGER names than the ones on the list....and money ISNT the issue....Yes its annoying when other talents can be snapped up now, but at least they really want the big names.

We just need someone to get through to them that all that can come in a year or two once we are much higher up the league.

Bigger than Vucinic, so we are chasing Villa then??

Venky's give me 1 hour with you and I'll rip your world apart and put it back together in a sensible progressive plan for rovers.

You make an important point BPF.

Of course the window is open until 1st Sept, but that mustn't be the target for Rovers. We have lost a large part of our squad already and might lose at least two more in Samba and Hoilett. Taking the reality [again] of the situation - and where we were last season, we have to ensure we hit the ground running. That means Wolves, first game of the season. We must [iMO] have a much stronger squad then, than we do now. Get off to a bad start and the season could be equally as difficult, if not more so than last season.

In the past there have been reasons why transfer dealings had to be left so late - in particular because we had no cash and were picking up the scraps when everyone else had had their fill. Now it's different. We have the money. We must get on with it.

BPF & Den, make good points and all this dillying and dallying is doing is making us look like clowns.

He's not what we need and if we are keeping Banjoni and Roberts then there are our two back-ups. Decent player he may well still be but he really struggled last year at west ham and Spurs, given he'll be about 10M all in, I'd rather waste that on an up and coming kid like Sinclair.

Signing Cisse and Piatti will bring quality into the squad , signing Keane and J Jones will bring some experience to what could potentailly be young first 11 , singning a marquee player will raise the clubs profile , especially if he is Brazilian and seeing as though we are a defender light before Samba goes , what about Lucio?? world cup winner , champions league winner he's more or less won everything and is he still captain of Brazil?

Exactly, less than a handful of people say that we're going to sign some world class players and the next thing you know we're going to win the Champions League...fast forward a week and the next thing you know the sky is falling and we're signing a 'keeper from Tranmere...

Not having a go at any of the posters of the valuable info that this board thrives on but sweet Jesus some of the drama queens on here are bloody ridiculous....

Its the complacent posters that get me.

I think if we can just get that first signing through the door, effectively to appease the masses, things might start to look a bit better. A decent signing mind you, not a complete no mark or one that will divide the fans.

Might just calm things down. At the moment its all talk and no action, we are linked with everyman and his dog and so far nothing much seems to be happening. I know other clubs are yet to make signings and i am not going into a massive panic but the longer it goes on, the more anxious the fans will get.

From scanning the last twelfty pages seems Venkys may be like kids in a sweet shop - they've just about decided what they are going to spend their money from the penny tray when they spy all the big glass jars up on the shelf and get tempted by some kali and kola kubes instead of bazooka joes and flumps...

I've got a son who recently turned 12 and we've just been through this painful process of him deciding what he's going to spend his birthday money on

Nerf guns, X Box games, Scooters, Bikes, clothes, Rovers gear, trainers - there's just toooooo much to choose from and when you've no experience of spending money (like the Rao's buying players) it's a head spin!!!!

Remember the article a while back that showed all the super cars in the Pune garage?

It seems the Rao's may have the same approach to buying players
