Summer 2011 Transfer Window Part Two

Ok people need to calm down a little. There is nothing to suggest that the summer spending plans are in dissatray, far from it.

What has happened is that things have changed (sorry to be vague) and that has caused frustration, hopefully these things can be resolved, with the attitude that they had last week returning and we can move on and sign some players. At the moment no real damage has been done as the likes of Cisse and Piatti are very much available.

All that is really required is some decisiveness and for someone to talk charge of the situation.

This is their business and their other businesses depend upon this one being a success.

If, as many people speculate, all of this is being done to create negative propaganda and that they're just going to constantly make noises without signing anyone, then they're bigger idiots than I ever thought possible for people that own a £multi-million/billion (who knows) empire.

Their future success depends upon their integrity and honesty even if they are using Rovers for advertising their name.

Have some faith and give them some credit. They are business people. Lose face and respect in business and you're nothing. They know this. Stop seeing rumour as fact, be patient and use your own thinker and what common sense you have.

They maybe good in the chicken business - so be it. But they are currently making a joke of themsleves in the football business. Last season Gillette soccer special could have chnaged its name to 'lets laugh at rovers' because that was what was happening. So far since the season came to and end, venkys have done NOTHING to stop that laughter. Venkys need a new media shake up becasue they are blowing their opportunity.

This time we know for sure that at the time of writing, the wheels have well and truly come off at Rovers.

You keep throwing in these little sound bytes philipl, not sure why, you've been a good poster over the years, but now you seem intent on causing as much mischief as possible, often without any foundation.

It would be good to put a little meat on the bones if at all possible, dont you think?

Poor Venky's PR, can't be easy doing a good job when they keep changing their minds once every meal. Would like to think that our owners have had enough time to understand how transfers work by now. If not then that they would at least trust the people they have put in charge of this club.

Purely speculating here, but could it be that Kentaro and Kean have drummed together a list of targets and started working on them, only for Venky's representative in Brazil/South America to claim that we can sign the biggest stars from over there? Far fetched eh? :)

Is the problem mainly conflicting views over potential transfers (who's realistic and who's not) or are they arguing over the valuation of our current 'list'?

I wish nicko or Kamy could shed some light on this.

Sounds like an absolute shambles. No one inside the club seems to have a clue what is going on and who is doing what!

I've just said that to someone via PM Kamy. This was my thinking earlier when I suggested it wasn't the manager making the decisions on player recruitment.

and there is half the board thinking the club is in collapse because the "wheels have fallen off of rovers" because of some posters.

like i said, people intent on causing mass hysteria and encouraging people to get carried away with all sorts of stupid theories need to stop doing it and get a grip.

thanks for clearing that up kamy and hopefully we can stop the nonsense now

This from the man who confidently proclaimed that Ali Syed was the real deal and not a tyre-kicker.

Drama queen...

This could be the moment Kean becomes the Knight in shining armour and brings everything into line........

And they haven't had chance to do anything to stop that laughter. They kept us in the league against many pundit's wishes and as of this moment in time, the transfer window for the top leagues in Europe are yet to open to us.

As for the 'joke of themselves' comment, that's downright ignorance from the majority of the media. I'll say it again, West Ham were relegated under their current owners yet they are yet to be called dildos. ###### dildos.

I don't know but someone needs. At the moment to many people are involved in the process, a sort of decision by committee, that is not a sustainable way to make decisions. So someone NEEDS to take charge otherwise they will go round in circles!

Unfortunately the ideal person for this situation is now at Man City.

I am sure that they will get this sorted, also this a huge test of relationship between owners and Kentaro, this where the decision making power is, not with the people who work at Ewood.

I still believe in Kallinic and would like to keep him, though i feel that he would not want another season like the previous two which is bound to do his confidence no favours, however, we do need reinforcements.

Ditto. I also think Kalinic will come good.

But we really need to get Hoillet sorted.

We currently have two Goalkeepers in our squad and thus require an additional back up, it is unlikely that the guy would ever be required to play, but we would need him just in case. Begs the question why we released Brown and sold Fielding for a pittance

Brown had issues and needed to go. The Fielding sale was surprising to me. From what I'd read, he was a valuable prospect.

Thus far, for all the talk of excellent targets, it would appear the ageing Robbie Keane and a 37-year-old 'keeper are likely to be the first arrivals. Hardly going to set the world alight in terms of season ticket sales.

We need to avoid Robbie Keane. He will not advance the Rovers.

Not yet.

I will have to run it by the committee, who will take a view, pass it back, come up with some other ideas, have a think about it, perhaps make a small bid, try to get the wages down, spend all time working out where the moles are, perhaps sack a few, wonder why we did that and then have tea.

If that is the way the Rovers now operate it explains a lot.

I personally don't want a marque signing at all, I would rather we spend the money very wisely fleshing out the team with decent players and bring in quality youth prospects. Having a super star up front will do us no goof whatsoever if our midfield is torn to shreds every time we loose possession, nor a defense that stare at each other as Robbo hauls the ball out of the back of the net again.

Agreed. Why are we so focused on "marquee" signings without a proper support system?

Reserve judgement till the close of the transfer window.

Since November of 2010 there have been those whose mantra has been "reserve judgment". And they almost always select a date at which it will be impossible to correct any mistakes made.

This time we know for sure that at the time of writing, the wheels have well and truly come off at Rovers.

I hope not. But Nicko's post make it seem like the Rovers make decisions by committee and the committee is fully staffed by the Keystone Cops.

All that is really required is some decisiveness and for someone to talk charge of the situation.

The first signing needs to be Mark Hughes as manager.

They kept is in the PL despite their decision making. Looking at their efforts alone, and not tacking on the efforts of the [sacked] previous manager, Venkys has been relegation form. Not confidence worthy.

They need to make some signings which do inspire confidence. So far, nothing. Hopefully that will change in the near future.

Sounds like an absolute shambles. No one inside the club seems to have a clue what is going on and who is doing what!

You are twisting his words. If the club was really in absolute shambles with clueless people running the club, Kamy wouldn't be telling us to calm down and assure us that the summer list will still be bought.

This is contrary to all the speculation earlier with Venkys supposedly rejecting/blocking/delaying Kean's wishlist for their own superstar marquee signings in Brazil or South America.

The problems, like Kamy said, are VAGUE. We do not know exactly what the problem is, other than that decisions are being run by a committee and so take forever to be processed. And to cut down that forever, someone in the committee apparently should take charge and make the decision for everyone instead of discussing it around.

That by no means mean that we should sack Kean, we should kick Venkys out and get new owners, we should make our first signing Mark Hughes, etc. That's overreacting to what seems like a democratic decision making. Fine, maybe their method is not the best way but they might figure that out tomorrow when nothing gets done and one of the Rao brothers might even get fed up with the situation and take the initiative to give Kean the green light. It's not as if Blackburn Rovers will collapse and be in shambles if we don't make the decision by today. Sure, it's frustrating, but something might or might not happen. Either way, why start hounding Venkys and chasing them out?

Transfer has a lot of red tape in it. Spending millions on players should also have red tape in it. Otherwise any old fool can just squander 30 million, and we end up with a bogus player and a weakened squad next season.

he responded and explained it the best he could without giving away more than he can.

he could have just gone "your all wrong - guess again" and then chuckled to himself after causing 10 pages of mass hysteria and stupid rumours.

So what power does Steve Kean have over potential signings? Power of veto? Or does a majority verdict suffice?
