Transfers can take much longer than you may think - some folk need to calm the f down, loads of clubs haven't signed anyone yet.

The worry/panic posters are bordering on the ridiculous.

On another note, it may be worthwhile having a summary thread (not sure if there is one already?) of the main developments (perhaps posts from Kamy/Nicko for example) - if you don't have much time it takes a while to wade through this thread to find out if anything interesting is happening.

it's alright being linked to these players but we should be buying them if we want them!!!

Okay. Try this.

If you like the look of a bag of peanuts in a shop you buy them. This is because it has a set price and it is for sale.

If you like the look of a football player you first have to agree a price with the team that currently owns him. Then you have to agree wages with him, giving his agent a cut, and then sort out all of the bureucratic crap that involves moving countrys and such.

Players are not like a bag of peanuts.

If what your saying is true, why did the transfer of my namesake go through without such turbulence.

Click on members then search for nicko or kamy you can see their last 5 posts or so and you can get a good overview.

That's what I've started doing, this thread has got ridiculous.

The issue is that there are players like Piatti who wont be on the market for long and may well slip through our grasp through just bureaucracy and incompetence. I dont want this to come down to bringing in anybody on deadline day because we wasted too much time at the beginning of the window. Its early days yet and hopefully there's nothing to worry about..

I don't see what good advertising whatever we are doing will do.

Going back to the peanut analogy - say you have found a very tasty bag of peanuts in said shop and its on sale, do you tell everyone else in rhe shop about the sale price before you have even picked them up? Say for the sake of argument we are in a very depressed area in Bradford and everyone is hungry... for nuts.

Who?..

Metaphoricaly speaking that would be Kean.

Good post and very much right, we have primary targets identified, we have enough dough we certainly have enough people to see the deal through so why leave it to chance that someone else can nip in and steal your first choice while you settle for second best.

I understand that there is plenty of time but if you want to make a statement of intent, get in there and get it done, I think after what the fans have had to put up with last season it would be nice to to get a few players in of real quality so we can see the owners intent and prove it's not just hot air.

Who?...

That's a very controversial opinion!

I take it you did'nt watch the 1st half vs Everton.

I fail to see what that has to do with transfers or peanuts for that matter.

I am now awaiting being chastised for being a racist, doom spreader, or both.

Sure we will sign someone between now and the end of the window.

Are Carl Jenkinson, Dan Burn, Jordan Henderson, Phil Jones, Mehdi Abeid, Demba Ba, Yohan Cabaye, Sylvain Marveaux, Elliott Bennett, Ritchie De Laet, Steve Morison, James Vaughan, Danny Graham, Brad Friedel, Billy Jones, Gareth McAuley, Dorus De Vries and Jamie O'Hara bags of peanuts or football players?

You forget that we are very discerning shoppers, who travel in packs.

im just hoping where doing what we did with formica wait till another club agree a fee with the selling club and then we know the kind of money we need to be offering and then go in with are bid that matches the other club, maybe that's what there waiting for with cisse so they don't pay over the odds
