Myles Anderson Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 As venky's know only too well, if you pay peanuts you get doughnuts. This may be a little on-topic so i apoligize in advance, I don't think R.Keane's the answer, i think we have enough backup strikers already. Cisse would be great. Has there been any news on Reo-Coker he would be a very useful signing.

True Blue & White Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 i think we have enough backup strikers already. Really?
1874 Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Are Carl Jenkinson, Dan Burn, Jordan Henderson, Phil Jones, Mehdi Abeid, Demba Ba, Yohan Cabaye, Sylvain Marveaux, Elliott Bennett, Ritchie De Laet, Steve Morison, James Vaughan, Danny Graham, Brad Friedel, Billy Jones, Gareth McAuley, Dorus De Vries and Jamie O'Hara bags of peanuts or football players? They are uk based players how many clubs have actually signed a player from abroad. The foreign peanuts are not for sale until 1st July
Hekla Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Would be disappointed to see a very likeable guy like Morten leave, I understand that he has been poor but he is a very good guy to have around. You can never have too many people with a personality like MGP.
Mr. E Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 9 MILLION POUNDS I just wanted to be sure people are aware of what clubs like Sunderland, who to my knowledge have never achieved a single thing in their entire history, are spending on no-name players. Why is it with our history and our achievements....you know, nevermind. Forget all this.
Myles Anderson Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 i think we have enough backup strikers already Really? Yes Benjani Roberts Kalanic Rochina
pick32 Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 I think that MGP is an excellent player to have in a squad he is still a good player and try's his best whatever position he plays in. I Hold him in the same vein as Emerton both good players for the club over the years and could still perform at the top level for a couple of years.
Backroom Tom Posted June 28, 2011 Backroom Posted June 28, 2011 Whilst I like Pedersen and would like him to stay around if he is being replaced by a younger and better player then it will be best for everyone if he leaves.
Hughesy Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Dunno how true this is but someone posted it on Twitter blesaux Bernard Lesaux by katie_jayne40 Morten Gamst Pedersen is gone....#Rovers IF true - might kick start us for the Piatti move....
bob fleming Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Are Carl Jenkinson, Dan Burn, Jordan Henderson, Phil Jones, Mehdi Abeid, Demba Ba, Yohan Cabaye, Sylvain Marveaux, Elliott Bennett, Ritchie De Laet, Steve Morison, James Vaughan, Danny Graham, Brad Friedel, Billy Jones, Gareth McAuley, Dorus De Vries and Jamie O'Hara bags of peanuts or football players? Not entirely sure, but in all probability Myles Anderson is a bag of @#/? if that helps.
leerovers1980 Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 IF true - might kick start us for the Piatti move.... something needs to kick start are in comings, im hoping the 1st of july will be the day it all starts
rebelmswar Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 IF true - might kick start us for the Piatti move.... Why? I thought we had enough money to choke a peanut, I mean horse. Getting rid of more players at this juncture is folly. Who would be left in midfield, Grella, Andrews, Bert and Zonzi? Oh and that new boy.
USRoverME Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 having just seen him rip the doors off the USA linking up with Chicharito... if Dos Santos is surplus to requirements at Spurs, he's be worth a shout. That final goal he scored was a masterclass, especially when you realize it's Everton's Timmy Howard that he makes look like a fool. oh and pay no attention to Jones running past dos santos and then ineffectively sticking a leg out to not stop the shot...
Speedie Dived Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 IF true - might kick start us for the Piatti move.... If this is true then someone HAS to come in soon. The MGP sale looking like a good one would be dependant on fee received, how long has he got left on his contract?
Mullionvagrant Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 i think we have enough backup strikers already Yes Benjani Roberts Kalanic Rochina Hoillett (still one year on contract even if doesn't sign another).
promoted2001 Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Since when is Twitter a reliable source? That's like using Wikipedia in a bibliography
yeti-dog Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Are Carl Jenkinson, Dan Burn, Jordan Henderson, Phil Jones, Mehdi Abeid, Demba Ba, Yohan Cabaye, Sylvain Marveaux, Elliott Bennett, Ritchie De Laet, Steve Morison, James Vaughan, Danny Graham, Brad Friedel, Billy Jones, Gareth McAuley, Dorus De Vries and Jamie O'Hara bags of peanuts or football players? Clearly they're footballers, although overall pretty average ones, so I'm unsure what the point of this prolonged peanut analogy is.
McRovers Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 I'd be really sad to see MGP go, hes a great squad player and has been an exemplary servant to our club for the greater half of a decade, hes part of the Ewood Park furniture along with nelson, emerton and dunn. I think particularly when we still have andrews and grella on the books it'd be criminal to sell our morten down the river. And how one can argue that benjani or roberts ought to stay because they still 'do a job' when MGP scored 1 less goal than roberts and a goal more than benjani last season from midfield, i'll never know.
T.J.Newton Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 having just seen him rip the doors off the USA linking up with Chicharito... if Dos Santos is surplus to requirements at Spurs, he's be worth a shout. That final goal he scored was a masterclass, especially when you realize it's Everton's Timmy Howard that he makes look like a fool. oh and pay no attention to Jones running past dos santos and then ineffectively sticking a leg out to not stop the shot... sorry but i think thats just pee poor defending, dont rate him much myself, hes been out on loan a few times and never really impressed(all whizz, no bang!).
chaddyrovers Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 I would keep Peds at rovers. very good squad player and I would play him more. is Tugay the manager Galatasary? I can see why Tugay wants him! Been a very good player for us!
beerwins Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 I dont understand why anybody would buy Pederson, he was on a free last season and has'nt exactly shone this year, wages are'nt small either.
AmazinTim Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Peds has been a good servant, didn't leave on free when he could have. I like him better in the middle of the field sometimes, definitely a good squad player but if we want to free up cahs or get the wage bill down, it'd be alright seeing him go. Also, to other posters saying "why dont we just slap a bid down" - to that I say, just because we have money doesn't mean we can recklessly spend. Can't throw caution to the wind just because he wave a decent kitty.
