Amo Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Peds has been a good servant, didn't leave on free when he could have. I like him better in the middle of the field sometimes, definitely a good squad player but if we want to free up cahs or get the wage bill down, it'd be alright seeing him go. Only because we were the only club daft enough to offer him £40k a week for four years. So long, Peds. Thanks for the memories but you've seen better days.

roverandout Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 why do people keep saying we have until september 1st to sign players? we clearly dont, we probably have another week before other clubs move in on our targets and nab em. beggining of july = quality players.....september 1st = cast offs and second raters. Get the deals done soon or its going to be the same old same old.
michaelthomas Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Exactly. I'm sure Keith Andrews is a lovely guy an all, but still, you get nothing for being nice on the pitch. He's not been upto scratch for years now and it's debatable that he ever was, bar a few good months early on. Far too inconsistent and I would swap him for someone of Piatti's potential any day. So long.
JonnyH Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 how long has he got left on his contract? He signed a new 4 year deal last summer so using my bottom set maths skills I'll go for three years left.
rebelmswar Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Exactly. I'm sure Keith Andrews is a lovely guy an all, but still, you get nothing for being nice on the pitch. So long. Andrews or Mr. Gamst? I would be sad to see the latter go, I know there is a Anti-Peds faction led by the insidious Topman which probably forced the owners hand.
Neal Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Pedersen seems like a top guy but he's been far too frustrating for years now. It makes sense to move him on and use the cash generated to fund the Piatti deal. I know we have cash but we want it to stretch as much as possible. It's useful to still have some funds left available towards the end of the transfer window when players are going cheap. Point to make: IF HE IS TO BE SOLD.
Torgeir Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Are we discussing Pedersen's imminent departure based on some unknown guy on twitter? Don't sell anymore from our top 15 until we have brought some new faces in!
The Rover of Finland Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 MGP wasn´t in Kean´s plans even in last season. Certainly he wouldn´t be coming season either. Long time he was a starter because he was best set piece taker we had. No problem to see him going but this twitter message means nothing yet.
cruz Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Pedersen has been sleepwalking for a number of seasons. He was mainly picked because he could throw the ball a long way. It's misty but I used to remember him getting free-kicks on target rather than fluky crosses scabbing it into the net
SuperCat Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 I thought Peds had a decent first half of the season. Or was it the season before?
leerovers1980 Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Good player in his day. 11.00 tick tock dont expect anything ,nicko said he keeping hush hush for a while
Roost Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 dont expect anything ,nicko said he keeping hush hush for a while So he did. Oh, bugger. Night all.
yankrover Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 I thought Peds had a decent first half of the season. Or was it the season before? I thought while he was pretty good under Sam this year he clearly doesn't fit with the new style of play. I've always liked Peds, but if we get a decent offer in for him we should sell.
RoverMad86 Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 I thought Peds had a decent first half of the season. Or was it the season before? Think it was last season. When his contract was up in the air. He put in several good performances. Got his new four year deal. Then went back into his shell. Cracking bloke. If he goes will be missed, but not from playing side.
RibbleValleyRover Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 I thought Peds had a decent first half of the season. Or was it the season before? 2006-07.
UtopianParadigm Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Is Nicko taking a well-deserved night off from the chaos?
UtopianParadigm Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 apparently big transfer news going to be posted by the mirror at 1 am on there site regarding arsenal, do you think it has anything to do with samba ? Is it this? http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/transfer-news/Arsenal-move-to-tie-up-Gervinho-deal-and-Bolton-Gary-Cahill-Blackbun-Chris-Samba-and-Sunderland-Craig-Gordon-could-be-next-article753728.html
brian_gallagher85 Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 9 MILLION POUNDS I just wanted to be sure people are aware of what clubs like Sunderland, who to my knowledge have never achieved a single thing in their entire history, are spending on no-name players. Why is it with our history and our achievements....you know, nevermind. Forget all this. Exactly, the Mirror is tonight reporting that they are about to seal a move for Connor Wickham for £13 million! That's THIRTEEN MILLION POUNDS for a player who has scored just 15 goals in 72 games in the Championship! Some members on here don't seem to appreciate how good we have it
leerovers1980 Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 looks like the past few days the transfer window is starting to hot up and clubs are now going for what they want, the next few days could get interesting
michaelthomas Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Andrews or Mr. Gamst? I would be sad to see the latter go, I know there is a Anti-Peds faction led by the insidious Topman which probably forced the owners hand. Gamst. Forgot to add that was a reply to the guy stating he was a lovely chap. It gets you nowhere.
Hi Mack Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 How are we even thinking about letting anyone else go.... The plan is to strengthen under our new owners, so far we are PJ down and JJ and RSC are back at their clubs. I realise this has come from a total unreliable source regarding MGP, but the fact is the situation isnt clear regarding Samba so should he end up going that means we can add another name to our shopping list, even more time needed to get another decent centre half in. My point is people are saying we've got loads of time....but we really dont, as pointed out before transfers do take time and we've got a few to make before the season starts.
Neal Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Contrasting information on Pedersen from the ever reliable source of info (Twitter, facebook) that he is not being sold.
Torgeir Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 I can understand some people's unwillingness to pay large sums of money for incoming transfers if they're only asking £12m for Samba. Planet Earth to Venky's, over.
