Bloody silly season. Hughes is not coming back here. If he happened to it would be a short term thing and he'd be off as soon as the bigger purse strings came along.

The midfielder? Park? very much doubt it I think SAF loves the bloke. I wonder if the midfielder might be mates with the mystery striker we've been getting for donkeys years now. I wish we'd get some business done though.

Pablo Piatti is leaving Almeria for 7 million with Benfica and Udinese leading the charge, surely we should throw a bid in there, fantastic player and if he impresses his value could rocket, thats what venky's want to do,buy cheap and sell for a profit.really hope the midfielder player we are after is not Vaughan, hoping for a better quality player.

Followed Piatti since he left estudiantes. Awesome potential and the spit of Lionel Messi.. plays a similar way too!

I know and exactly the sort of player Kean claims we want at the club,Wigan were interested but can't afford 7 mil i can't think of a better player available for bout 7 mil.

Venky's and Kean are supposed to be blood-brothers these days, why would they shaft him now?

Business people shaft anyone who gets in their way including their own mums.....people at our place would stab their own mums and dads in the back for a few hours overtime....lol

Yes, but surely if they wanted to pull the trigger on him they would have already done so? It would seem odd to do it after all the transfer lists have been drawn up and Kean has started pursuing his targets. Unless he literally has no say in it (which is possible) in which case it wouldn't really matter when he got sacked.

So bored now, just wish we would sign somebody!

They are not going to sign someone just to make sure us fans aren`t bored lol

I would prefer they take their time, do their homework if not already done so, get the right deals for the club and the right targets with the right skillsets to compliment the team and potential tactical methods of playing...............

We know most managers / players will have been on some sort of vacation, we know there have been Pow Wows in Switzerland, India and now Ewood this week, and we know there are "live" targets - lets judge the window and players brought in on 1st September.

I`m pretty sure we will start to see more movement and things firming up in the coming weeks anyway

"They came in all singing and all dancing and yet nothing they have said has come to fruition yet,”. Pretty much the same as you and your transfer to the Mancs then David ya gobshite!

Rem..... He did get a CL winners medal AB. And he's still got the splinters from the bench in his arse to remind him of his time there. In truth he must be the luckiest footballer on the planet. Very much a Joe Ordinary defender at his supreme best. I wonder why the LT dredged him up when there are so many more ex players with much more between their ears?

Harsh on David May - I thought he was an excellent right back but lost his place at Old Trafford because of the emergence of Gary Neville. Didn't he have a bad injury at United ?

Twelve pages on this thread since I last looked - do I need to look through them all or have we actually signed someone ?

Speculation:

According to reports in The Journal, Newcastle United are ready to listen to offers for Argentine winger Jonas Gutierrez, while there are also now doubts over Steve Harper's future at St James' Park.

Is Gutierrez anygood? Worth a look?
