pedebumchin Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 I hope the 'not so talked about' midfielder we have been linked with is David Vaughan. On a free, nominated as Blackpool's player of the season over Charlie Adam and scores goals. He is the type of player we were missing last year.

Makey11 Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 Surely you must have, you would be stupid not too. Yeh the scouts go to nearly all the youth comps around the world. Think they went to comps in holland, south America france in the last month.

Kjell Sindre Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 Not unlikely, since he is out of contract and because of the Sociedad connection (apologies if it has been mentioned before). Would be a good signing.
RibbleValleyRover Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 I hope it's Vaughan as well, he's looked a decent player from the few times I had seen him and Blackpool's fans must rate him if he was their player of the year over Adam. Like Kjell said Kean will know Vaughan from their Sociedad days, might give us just the edge to sign him.
budha Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 Wolves have confirmed the signing of O'Hara from Spurs. One that got away me thinks. Not that us signing him was very likely after he got his loan move to Wolves..
Roberto Policano Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 "Angelo Palombo of Sampdoria?" Staying next season in Serie B,So he says. "id prefer andrea Poli from sampdoria" Could do worse. "Might bung a cheeky fiver on Foghorn Leghorn" Probably do a better job than John Toshack. "Followed Piatti since he left estudiantes"Deal agreed with Udinese in principle 3 weeks ago,but others on case now. "Been watching the first half of Brazil-Denmark. Plenty of interesting players on the pitch" Viktor Fischer & the 2 Copenhagen lads Danny Amankwaa & Kenneth Zohore all looked excellent last night for the Dannes against Brazil, thought Brazil lucky to win that by a 3-0 scoreline.Danish keeper not great though.

DanielMB Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 Victor Fischer does have a special talent. Unfortunately he has just joined Ajax. Amankwaa and Zohore could be good players defintitely. From Brazil I really liked the look of Ademilson (2 goals), Adryan, Marlon Bica and Lucas Piazon. The last one has signed for Chelski though
Ricky Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 Could be Vaughan, would be happy enough with him as a free to replace grella and andrews who we could hopefully move out. Interesting to see he made his debut for Crewe against us in a 0-0 draw. Anyone remember if that was the game where we had something like 25 shots and still didn't score. Scrub that it was the 0-1 defeat I was thinking of, remembered watching it on the box http://www.crewe.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=234995
Halstead Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 Could the forgotten midfielder be Harry Kewell on a free transfer ?
Roost Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 Is Gutierrez anygood? Worth a look? He is very very good, so I am wondering why the Barcodes are willing to let him leave??
Kenwoo Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 Is Gutierrez anygood? Worth a look? Gutierrez is poor. I remember Salgado having a nightmare against him last season but his final ball was awful.
CAPT KAYOS Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 Gardner over Vaughan for me, chips in with a few as well. Mentioned Gardner the couple of years back as someone we should have gone for - reminds me of Dunn just not as skillful (think he scored against us for Villa). Vaughan is a decent player also. Both would fit in very well to our team.
braddock Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 I would be happy to see us with either Gardner or Vaughan. Will further annoy my Villa mate if the former comes.
Hughesy Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 Want a left back, then surely worth an ambitious bid??? Arsenal defender Gael Clichy is a £7m target for Roma and the Italian club are willing to sell striker Mirko Vucinic. Full story: Daily Mirror Clichy would prefer a move to Liverpool but the Premier League club have made an offer of £5m, which falls short of the fee Arsenal are holding out for. (the Times)
Hughesy Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 Hargreaves? Id be surprised – only yesterday he said he hasn’t received a single offer and would be prepared to sign a pay as you play deal
67splitscreen Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 Abou Diaby has certainly been forgotten about by many and capable of bossing the MF. Not gonna happen but! .....
John Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 Wolves have confirmed the signing of O'Hara from Spurs. One that got away me thinks. Not that us signing him was very likely after he got his loan move to Wolves.. Talented player and fairly proven, good signing - also, importantly has experience of playing in the English league so won't need time to settle in. Only potential negative is his fitness.

(the Times) I think this is a bit of a daft idea. We alread have Olsson, Givet and Morris coming through at left back. Arguably right back is more of a priority with only Salgado who is a specialist and Emerton who can fill in. Why waste money – especially seven million pounds – when the priority is strikers, then defensive midfielders, then central defenders. Left back is way down that list.
