I hope the 'not so talked about' midfielder we have been linked with is David Vaughan. On a free, nominated as Blackpool's player of the season over Charlie Adam and scores goals. He is the type of player we were missing last year.

Vaughn would be decent, certainly on a free transfer.

"Angelo Palombo of Sampdoria?" Staying next season in Serie B,So he says.

"id prefer andrea Poli from sampdoria" Could do worse.

"Might bung a cheeky fiver on Foghorn Leghorn" Probably do a better job than John Toshack.

"Followed Piatti since he left estudiantes"Deal agreed with Udinese in principle 3 weeks ago,but others on case now.

"Been watching the first half of Brazil-Denmark. Plenty of interesting players on the pitch"

Viktor Fischer & the 2 Copenhagen lads Danny Amankwaa & Kenneth Zohore all looked excellent last night for the Dannes against Brazil, thought Brazil lucky to win that by a 3-0 scoreline.Danish keeper not great though.

Wolves have confirmed the signing of O'Hara from Spurs. One that got away me thinks. Not that us signing him was very likely after he got his loan move to Wolves..

Defo, would much rather have him in our midfield than lining up against us on the opening day of the season.

Victor Fischer does have a special talent. Unfortunately he has just joined Ajax. Amankwaa and Zohore could be good players defintitely. From Brazil I really liked the look of Ademilson (2 goals), Adryan, Marlon Bica and Lucas Piazon. The last one has signed for Chelski though

Could be Vaughan, would be happy enough with him as a free to replace grella and andrews who we could hopefully move out. Interesting to see he made his debut for Crewe against us in a 0-0 draw. Anyone remember if that was the game where we had something like 25 shots and still didn't score.

Scrub that it was the 0-1 defeat I was thinking of, remembered watching it on the box

Gardner over Vaughan for me, chips in with a few as well.

Mentioned Gardner the couple of years back as someone we should have gone for - reminds me of Dunn just not as skillful (think he scored against us for Villa).

Vaughan is a decent player also.

Both would fit in very well to our team.

Want a left back, then surely worth an ambitious bid???

Arsenal defender Gael Clichy is a £7m target for Roma and the Italian club are willing to sell striker Mirko Vucinic.

Full story: Daily Mirror

Clichy would prefer a move to Liverpool but the Premier League club have made an offer of £5m, which falls short of the fee Arsenal are holding out for. (the Times)

Talented player and fairly proven, good signing - also, importantly has experience of playing in the English league so won't need time to settle in.

Only potential negative is his fitness.

I think this is a bit of a daft idea. We alread have Olsson, Givet and Morris coming through at left back. Arguably right back is more of a priority with only Salgado who is a specialist and Emerton who can fill in. Why waste money – especially seven million pounds – when the priority is strikers, then defensive midfielders, then central defenders. Left back is way down that list.
