I'd love Hughes back but there will be nothing in it.

It will be a dead Market pretty much nobody will be putting bets on a job that isn't vacant so any money going on Hughes would have seen a huge swing in his odds.

At least I think that's what happens

Is there ever anything in this kind of thing?

Just guesswork by the punters joining the dots most of the time isn't it?

I think this is a bit of a daft idea. We alread have Olsson, Givet and Morris coming through at left back. Arguably right back is more of a priority with only Salgado who is a specialist and Emerton who can fill in. Why waste money especially seven million pounds when the priority is strikers, then defensive midfielders, then central defenders. Left back is way down that list.

A lot on here have said they want a new left back. I agree that scoring goals is our problem too – however just put this one in their for left back.

As for Right back = Salgado/ Emerton/ Ramm is pretty much the same as Olsson/ Givet & Morris (who is a left winger not a full back)

I still believe its Harry Kewell, he has gone off the radar then has popped up yesterday saying he would like a prem move as he is a free transfer seems more realistic than diarra, diaby etc

Harry Kewell is 32, going on 33 in September – id be gutted if we signed him!

If allardyce was still in charge then i could believe it. At present i am choosing not to believe it. He'd be a waste of time, just sat chatting with Grella on the treatment table all season.

If he's a handy player in Nicko's eyes then I sincerely doubt its Harry Kewell. Gardner hasn't ever impressed me particularly. Havent seen much of Vaughan. Krankjar is the only guy who's been mentioned that I'd really like to see here. I doubt anyone has guessed the correct identity yet though.

I've never really seen Gardner play a full game against anyone other than us. Brum were never on my priority list of teams to watch (possibly bottom of that list).

On Match of the Day he's always caught my eye because he pops up with goals but i've never seen do anything other than that that's impressed me; a cracking pass for instance.

Doesn't mean his observations on the current situation at Ewood aren't spot on though does it? Shoot the messenger and all that..........

David May is simply saying what many rovers fans think - but it's the way of the site now - don't like truths about the owners, so attack the poster. Usually by the same people who regularly attacked the trust and the previous manager - does anyone think?

Are we any further with signing JJ on a permanent? I haven't heard anything about him for a while.

Also, I've just read the Kalanic piece in the LT. It mentions in there that Vucinic is unlikely to move to Ewood regardless of us meeting the asking price as we aren't an attractive enough club.

I get the feeling this is going to be a repeated theme as the owners and manager keep attempting to lure big name signings to Ewood.

As much as I enjoy reading about being linked with top players and have no doubt that the owners do have genuine ambitions for Rovers, I'm not sure I'm going to be able to handle all of the "not attractive enough" excuses that are bound to follow. wacko.gif

I'd be up for Harry Kewell, he's quite viscous when provoked, and could be good value for the laughs. Dream world would see him bring Lucas back with him, but I doubt we could afford him.

Not saying it could not be Vaughan but we have money now. Don´t think Nicko means his standard player when he says good good player.

IMO he is a 'good good player'.

Top quality passer of the ball and just found out he was voted as player of the year by both fans and players.

People are making some noise about his Real Socieadad link with Kean, does anyone actually know if they liked each other at that time or not? I would imagine that would help make his mind up either way...

Daft ideas are Hughsey's forte. He doesn't believe if you have nothing sensible to post don't post. He just posts for postings sake.

Didn't Nicko say "local"? Maybe Vaughan isn't a bad shout?

No this is what he said

MIDFIELD...very interesting name popped up from one of the elite spies around here...yet to confirm...hope it's right...good, good player who hardly ever gets a mention but would be ideal.

Rather him than Dingle's McCann. He's supposed to be on his way, to Bolton I think. May have already gone whilst I was on holiday though and I missed it, given that Burnley news is never reported any more really.
