jim mk2 Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Anyone seen any interesting people at Ewood today? Cleaning ladies arrived about 15mins ago. One of them is thinking over her new contract offer and the other's agent is touting her around other employers.

davulsukur Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Looking forward to hopefully getting a signing or 2 through the door this week. Heres hoping anyway
Hughesy Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Krankjar, Krankjar, Krankjar! amen At least spell his name right, unless thats a knock-off polish version or something! Class act mate.walk into Rovers side.Excellent at Parma.Just as good as Junior.Frightening pace. Get his name emailed to Rovers!!! Sounds like the sort of player we need. Im really hoping we go for pace & real attacking intent, it would make a change for us to worry some of the big boys at the back, without having to lump it to Samba or whatever.
47er Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Kind of agree Hughesy.. but have to say when given was out and Olsson was forced to play left back we looked far far weaker attacking than with him on the left wing. Yes you've hit the nail on the head! If our main problem is creating chances and scoring goals then no way should we waste Olsson at left-back! Boxed yourself into a corner there Hughesy.
LeChuck Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Isn't the solution to buy a left winger then? I still think Olsson is a limited attacking player, he can't really pick a pass and his crossing is poor. Having said that, surely one of Formica and Rochina will play there if both are featuring in the first team next year?
Dave S Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Yes you've hit the nail on the head! If our main problem is creating chances and scoring goals then no way should we waste Olsson at left-back! Boxed yourself into a corner there Hughesy. One of the problems last year was that we did not have strength in depth. We missed Oojier, Zurab, Mokoena and even Berner. To come in and do a job when the main players were injured. Pushing Olsson to left back wastes a lot of his qualities. I think we definitely need a back up left back to cover for Givet. Someone like David Carney, free transfer, I've heard he has a good attitude, plenty of experience, not on big money.
alexanders Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 What exactly has happened to Ninis? He was being touted as the next big thing and linked to all the big clubs in Europe. Have you heard anything about his next destination Roberto or is he planning on staying in Greece to play for Pana? We have Hoilett, Formica (if he comes good) and rochina all who can play in the attacking line up + pedersen , emerton . If we get a pacy winger (ninis, biabiany, barnetta, gervinho - just examples). we can put Olsson on FB. It might be easier to find a decent winger than left back. On the flip side it might be cheaper to buy a left back than a winger. Serge Aurier who we have been linked with seems like a pacey left back and might be worth a shot.

He has lots of pace and takes defenders on.Can score goals too. Shame on you!
DanLad Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 We looked at our best last year when we had Olsson on the left and Junior on the right.
martmitch Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 sturridge would be worth every penny of 20 million should he want to leave the chelsea bench
neophox Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Whats the latest from Ewood Park? Any interest in winger Scott Sinclair? He scored 27 goals in championship last season.
Taggart Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 sturridge would be worth every penny of 20 million should he want to leave the chelsea bench Its not really been mentioned before, but it would be worth a shout trying to get Sturridge on Loan for the season with a front payment to Chelsea to secure it ? Would suit me down to the ground
braddock Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 I always found Hoilett to be more dangerous on the left cutting inside than the right. I have no qualms about having Olsson at left back as, similarly to his left wing role, he has time to improve some of his attributes and is good enough at the moment anyway. Looking forward to a week of conjecture.
Iceman Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 At least spell his name right, unless thats a knock-off polish version or something! does it really matter how I spell his name? I think I should do an Abbey, and just don’t give a (Please don't use that word again)
Roberto Policano Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 What exactly has happened to Ninis? He was being touted as the next big thing and linked to all the big clubs in Europe. Have you heard anything about his next destination Roberto or is he planning on staying in Greece to play for Pana? Lad lost his way last season totally, but he is only a young lad,so he can come again. As far as i know he only has a year to run on contract,so could be available for less.Leto was crap last year too.David Fuster is a decent player for Olympiacos.Kevin Mirallas good solid player too.
Hughesy Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 I think Olsson at left back, with a proper attacking left winger infront would be deadly – as they could overlap. Perhaps we need 2 wingers, so Hoilett can play upfront or just behind in the hole Wonder if Dunn might move on now he’s selling his house? Surely he must realise he will be struggling to get in our side soon if we sign a couple of players? Hope to god we find new homes for Gorilla & Julie Andrews
roversmum Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 We need a plan and its obvious Rovers don't have one. Is it? You personally know that, do you? There always used to be meetings to discuss players during transfer windows etc., and that is what is happening now. Perhaps you ought to give Mrs D a ring and tell her you want to be involved. I've sure she will give you a most gracious reply...
Iceman Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Victor Obinna anybody? Thought he did okay at West Ham... i know he has also been injured, but no takers for Thomas Hitzelperger or Mark Noble?
Hughesy Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Victor Obinna anybody? Thought he did okay at West Ham... Just snubbed Stoke according to reports
Lathund Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Victor Obinna always, always scores when he plays against me on Football Manager. Therefore I hate him and would not want him here. I also don't want Gyan; a striker who plays with #3? Can't have that. What, I have silly reasons for not wanting players? Surely not...

Kenwoo Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Wonder if Dunn might move on now hes selling his house? Surely he must realise he will be struggling to get in our side soon if we sign a couple of players? I know that he's getting married which could be a possible reason for him moving house. Also, he was in the pub over Christmas (very drunk) talking about offers to play in the middle east. I'd like to keep him for another season or so.
Roberto Policano Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Victor Obinna anybody? Going to Lokomotiv Moscow.
alexanders Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Going to Lokomotiv Moscow. The figures for Mirko Vucinic is ridicilous. Hope he goes elsewhere.

With what he has learned since leaving us in terms of defensive skills, imagine what Duffer & Ollson could do down our left hand side!!
