LeChuck Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 im going to guess its either one of David Vaughn, Charles Nzogbia, Scott Parker, Ji Sung Park, Charlie Adam.. Deary me. You should stay away from this website over the summer, you'll be bitterly disappointed.
Hughesy Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 Hughesy, he DID stand out. He was their player of the year, surely he cant stand out much more than that. He was the savage to the Tugay in their Adam/Vaughan partnership. A couple of stats Appears to me that Adam was both Adam - 12 Goals last season (35 league games) 9 assists 11 yellow cards 68 fouls Vaughan - 2 Goals last season (35 league games) 3 assists 7 yellow cards 33 fouls Adam - 16 Goals the season before Vaughan - 1 Goal the season before
47er Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 Yet again - there's no mention from Mr Nixon in his original post of his being local Perhaps someone else did, cos I remember replying "Adam?" and some body else, whose name I forget!
dubdubdub Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 Fellini (spelling) For some reason I immiediately thought of Fellaini...but then reason and logic took their hold and I realised I was being foolish (would love to be proved counter-foolish though).
vintageadidas Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 A further 25 pages of name guessing now - thanks Nicko
patrickvalery Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 how cool to have Jermaine Jenas and Jermaine Jones as the 2 CM Nah. The post above your would be better. I'd love Joey Barton at Rovers. I know he's a bit of a rascal, but it doesn't really concern me. Would i want him baby sitting my kids? No. Would i want him as a lodger? No. Would i want him playing center midfield for Rovers, demanding more from some of the bog average players like Pedersen and Andrews? Abso bleeding lutely!
pedebumchin Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 Much as I enjoy the summer habit of guessing at the mystery midfielder, just a couple of things. VAUGHAN...free...absolutely no Rovers contact. ADAM...way too expensive now and only like to go to one club. CARRICK...zero chance. PARK...zero chance. Nobody has stabbed at the name yet - and I have yet to get an update to see how live this one is. Thought somebody might have had the same name... Good player in my book. Nicko, give us a clue, nicko nicko give us a clue! Would help us avoid stabbing in the dark? Even if it might turn out to be nothing would be good to see who we are being linked with rather than guessing. Or are you enjoying the chase and like seeing us throw random names into the pot
s_simpson_9 Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 I think the key word in nicko's response is "stabbed". Whoever has stabbed someone. We are in for him.
Neal Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 Vladimir Weiss or Micheal Johnson of City? Just thinking of their cast-offs. Ideally, i'd love it to be Gibson but with Rovers - United relations at a probable all time low... I doubt it.

How about "total psychopath"? I think the key word in nicko's response is "stabbed". Whoever has stabbed someone. We are in for him. Joey Barton?
patrickvalery Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 "bit of a rascal"? How about "total psychopath"? Come on 47er. Who hasn't got a bit over excited and stubbed out their Monte Cristo in a young lads eye? He's a wee rascal and no more!
Miker Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 A couple of stats Appears to me that Adam was both Adam - 12 Goals last season (35 league games) – 9 assists – 11 yellow cards – 68 fouls Vaughan - 2 Goals last season (35 league games) – 3 assists – 7 yellow cards – 33 fouls Adam - 16 Goals the season before Vaughan - 1 Goal the season before How many goals and assists did Jermaine Jones have? Or N'zonzi for that matter? I haven't seen much of Vaughan, but I'm guessing he's highly rated for the work he did in the team, not necessarily how many goals or fouls he chipped in with...
davulsukur Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 Vladimir Weiss or Micheal Johnson of City? Just thinking of their cast-offs. Ideally, i'd love it to be Gibson but with Rovers - United relations at a probable all time low... I doubt it. I mentioned Weiss last week. Could be a decent player.
Clitherover Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 I think the key word in nicko's response is "stabbed". Whoever has stabbed someone. We are in for him. DJ Campbell, but he's a striker...
A cup of beans Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 IS MYSTERY MIDFIELDER BASED IN PREM AND NORTH WEST.. ? if so.. here's a few that come to mind! matt taylor, Ben Watson, James McCarthy, Leon Osman
RoverRich Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 What about Stuart Holden? That's my stab in the dark anyway. Played very well for Bolton last season until he got badly injured but he is one who doesn't seem to get mentioned much. Leon Osman might be a decent shout as well. He is a good player IMO.
philip369 Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 I think the key word in nicko's response is "stabbed". Whoever has stabbed someone. We are in for him. Callum Davenport Callum Davenport (stabbed twice apparently!)

What about Tom Cleverley?
A cup of beans Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 Osman is a decent player, cant see him leaving Everton for us though, nor could i see everton letting him go. yeah.. but maybe everton will cash in on him cos they need to raise funds ?? i also thought about anderson at united.. but stopped dreaming! cleverly is a good shout.. but sure he said he's going to give it a shot at united next season ??
