SAMBA - if he goes it will be for loads...

This is the thing I care most about. It's almost a matter of principal - how dare Arsenal think they can get him for so little.

I doubt we will play 2 up top. And I certainly hope not. Kean tried it through the situation that he'd been engineered in, it didn't work and we ended up playing Hoillet in a free attacking midfield role in support of Roberts. We looked most comfortable, most compact and most dangerous with that formation too. Only teams with exceptional players can contemplate 4-4-2 these days. It's too easy to play against.

I'm sure we all knew that anyway.

You get my point though.

How about 'You will be playing with Junior Hoilett just behind you, a player with pace to burn and mega potential'?

Sure, Junior Hoilett is gonna attract Europe's top strikers...

We have £50m to spend (supposedly - I don't believe it) and we're keeping Roberts and keeping Benjani? As Theno says, we'll most likely be playing one up top and it's worrying to think that two of our principal strikers are Championship players.

No-one has said we are keeping Benjani.

He wants more money and he wants another year in England to gain his passport.

Don't stress about that situation.

Patience may be rewarded when it comes to bigger matters...

A ) Could Benjani get a 12 month contract in McDonalds and still qualify for a passport?

B ) We're close to signing somebody.........?????? Stewiedancingsmall.gif

I could care less if Benjani stays or goes, though I do have a bit of a soft spot for him.(no jokes please ; ]) What's important is, where does he fit into Kean's plans. If he's around for squad player purposes, then so be it. If he's planning on starting him 15-20gms a year then we've got problems.

We can't revamp the whole damn team in one window. Experience has to count for something.

More than anything we need that 'BIG NAME' striker to score goals and make the gutter press stand up and take notice that Venky's intentions are serious.

We are surely looking at a club record fee here possibly 15-20 million,no messing about.I fear its the only way to stop us losing season ticket holders too!

I also fear we are going to see an awful lot of 'BIG NAME' players turning us down. :(

I mentioned this the other day. The old "not attractive enough" excuse will no doubt be used.

Checked both ends on Cole...and it has been denied at both ends.

It doesn't fit with the players being looked at and asked about for that position.

All three are younger, probably better...but unfortunately quite expensive. Although their wages would be much less than Joe's.

are these targets being looked at playing there trade in the premiership or in europe ?

Are we looking at similar players?

Alan Dzagoev one of the three? :)

Could it be that he has been in teams surrounded by prima donnas and a subs bench worth about a hundred million pounds?

Also, that crap with his wife must have messed his head up pretty badly.

I feel that a fresh start at a down to earth football club, like ours, would give him a massive boost and would be a fan favorite very quickly.

Not sure about the prima donna's comment. He was in the Chelsea side, and 3 managers did not ultimately fancy him.

Take your point on having a kid, but not the first to do so.

If he came without doubt he would be a favourite. First and foremost because he is not Julie :-)

I reckon winger from Spain, striker from Germany and striker from france.

The midfielder you were on about yesterday is from the premiership. can you say which club he is from them? could it be Jenas?
