still a little weary about Hoilett. Would love to think he's loyal and wants to repay the club for the opportunities it has provided. But a little iffy on how they (i think it's mainly his dad) is handling his nationality issues. The natural choice is for him to play for Canada, but they seem to be fine holding out for a better opportunity to come around. Which is understandable, I suppose, but I don't want our Rovers to be treated the same way.

agree. And I am pretty sure Hoilett was being pretty difficult last time he signed, but it looks he and Kean has a good relationship, and understand each other, so hopefully he will sign. After all Jr himself said he wanted to stay. It's all about making him an offer that he is ok with.

Theres now 19 topics in the 'transfer talk' section, some of which aren't even players we have actually been linked with. Think I preferred sifting through the rubbish on a single thread. Surely everything can be subdivided into 4 or 5 subtopics. This one, transfer links + press speculation, twitter speculation and then who we'd like to see at the club.

With the different threads you don't have to read 4 pages of guff on Joe Cole, for example. I like it, beats skipping through 20 pages a day hoping for decent info.

I like the different threads, especially with the information of sources in the header. Great job!

right back is Roman Shishkin

http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/transfer-news/Blackburn-eye-up-Russian-right-back-Roman-Shishkin-article751654.html

J Jones. his price is 5.5 million pounds. I would say paid it and get him signed. Think he will go to roma instead.

I've heard our top target is an inflatable crocodile to improve the atmosphere (Ok I'll stop with the crocodile stuff now)

I'm cautiously optimistic about this window at the minute but have any concrete bids been lodged yet?

More than anything we need that 'BIG NAME' striker to score goals and make the gutter press stand up and take notice that Venky's intentions are serious.

We are surely looking at a club record fee here possibly 15-20 million,no messing about.I fear its the only way to stop us losing season ticket holders too!

I also fear we are going to see an awful lot of 'BIG NAME' players turning us down. :(

My Worry also Garners'. Vucinic for example is a great player but he's never been prolific, nor is he a target man. If it's really going to take £18 mil to get him I'd rather walk away. We could waste the entire window chasing a 'top striker'. Would rather bring 2 highly rated young uns in and give them playing time.

Surely, given that they must have decided on the kitty some time ago(and Kentaro/SEM will be involved) they would have established prices, availibility and more importantly checked with agents whether players would be willing to sign for us. Or is that too simplistic in the world of football?

How am I supposed to waste hours at work if I don't have needless crap to wade through? My three pence worth...with all the talk of money being spent I can see a lot of the players we're speculating over with regards to leaving, staying (junior and samba). They want success at the end of the day and maybe the players are feeling like they could be part of something special. I'm not saying a walkeresque revolution...but pushing for Europe maybe. A few good signings and we could be around the everton level. I thought this even before the talk of five or six players but not to the same extent. I know fifty million doesn't get you much these days when It's spread over a few players...but if the money gets spent...we're a hell of a lot better off than under the recent trust. Ever the optimist.

We don't do too bad at resurrecting careers of players who aren't too old. Worth a punt at that price if he passes a medical and the management think he's up to it, as they will be a better judge than us.

That link of Nickos looks like the editor cut someone else from the article. 'also'

"Blackburn also making a £4m move for Russian international right-back Roman Shishkin".

So who is the mystery man?.

I think that's just in reference to jermaine jones link

That's what I was thinking. We are a different proposition to both Chelsea and Liverpool. I think he might enjoy it.

It doesn't appear to be true though
