Wow. So 5.5 mill is the starter for Jones? Dunno about the rest of you, but if I had my hands on the purse strings that'd be a goer. I know he's not a spring chicken by any stretch, but by god he has the engine and he has the attitude that the midfield badly needs.

I would pay it.

It looks to me like the big money will be spent on the big striker.

If you land one of those then the others could tag along.

Some of the targets are a tad ambitious, but others are achieveable.

If you look at the Premier League and clubs in your range then you have more financial clout just now than most.

In the past we have been linked to Oscar Cardozo whose value seems to have dropped despite him winning the golden boot in Portugal, are we interested? It is rumoured that he is off to d. Kiev.

Everton need to sell to buy, Sunderland are picking up other people's cast-offs, Newcastle are slashing the wage bill, Bolton could do with punting Cahill.

If you knock off some good signings this summer it will se you up for some time.

I think this is also recognised by the powers that be.

was thinking the exact same thing,

You're confused? I'm seething.

It's the wrong story and somebody put my name on it.

Excuse me while I tear somebody a new arse.

Anjukov is the target - not the other geezer.

**** me.

£5.5m for J. Jones is not too much, and I believe he proved his worth during his loan spell with us. With him and N'Zonzi in the middle of the park it allowed our wide players freedom to forward more.

Wondering what kind of strikers we're enquiring about. Wonder if Kean is a fan of Crouch like BFS is, or if we're looking for a quicker type. Maybe one that scores goals will do, I know it'll do for me. ;)

Young £7m striker, how about Bojan Krkic? I know Roma are chasing him but he's still young and has potential, a lot of people expected him to become a Barca regular.

Nicko when will the left winger be settled?

There have been inquiries to check prices, availability of the three of them. You have rivals for the first two choices, the third is easier.

However I suspect the major effort right now is on landing the striker...then other things may fall into place.

But there is so much buzzing about that it is hard to predict who and when comes first.

Jones (no need for the j prefix anymore) is well worth five and a half. If we were to sign only one or two players (aside from the samba and junior fiascos..as important as bringing players in) he'd be second only to a good striker. And kudos to Kean or whoever for realising what had been sorely missed. Could be a one off but it gives me some confidence in him spending the money.

Bojan should be a Roma player by now. They should be able to match us - to the level any club would go for Jermaine Jones of course - but I do think we made a good impression on JJ last season. It's still a good deal at 4-5 million pounds in my opinion.

Jones (no need for the j prefix anymore)

Nicko Oscar Cardozo is available, are we interested? His value seems to have fallen substantially since last year despite wining the golden boot in Portugal.

He won it in 09/10 I think, this season I'm pretty sure Falcao got it - he's been scoring for fun.

Heber...I just meant we should call him ones (read owns). One day we'll look back and know the future England capitan was our making. Annoys me though that as soon as he's signed for united he suddenly becomes under 21s captain. Still...better than that pile that is mancienne.

Braddock...whoever you may be...probably agree...I said six tops but the constant inflation of player's prices has to come into account.

i see Liverpool want to sell meireles to fund other transfers, if he available i would at least make an enquiry he was liverpools best player last season and would be a great addition and the kind of player I would love to see at rovers what does everyone else think
