vintageadidas Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 I'm of the opinion that you can always replace centre backs at the level we currently find ourselves at, but not at champions league level where we'll be at in 4yrs time Whilst Samba and Jones will be missed, they're replaceable, unlike say a 15 goal a season man, so I'm not worried about selling Samba also. Been saying that for a while. Could not agree more. Defend as a unit.

sweet Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 By the way, how many transfer windows in a row has it been now, that all our 'concentration' has been on bringing in a striker first?!? Nothing changes, just the figures. How about we put some effort into getting kranjcar who is available now - and is a creative playmaker that we have been crying out for, for so long, and he can also play on the left! Since we are supposedly so flush with cash and ambition It used to be an agreement on here, that we could have a worldclass player playing upfront, but he aint going to score if we dont have the players creating the chances for him!
joey_big_nose Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 £3mil? I can understand people saying £5mil and I'd personally go higher, but £3mil? Who else are you going to get who can offer us what he offered us for that money, outside of free transfers? He had no injury problems whilst here. Looked the fittest player at the club. We might have a bit of money now but even Fergie or Jose would balk at 5m+ for a player with Jones' injury record the wrong side of thirty. That's crazy talk. Perhaps I am being naive but what other over 30 year olds have moved for 5m+?

JAL Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 This say's to me "i am off". http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11670_7001843,00.html Yep! yet another player who doesnt want to play for the fantasist Stephen Kean. Who's next ?

rebelmswar Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 Yep! yet another player who doesnt want to play for the fantasist Stephen Kean. Who's next ? Robo? I really don't know what to make of the situation. Maybe the players don't believe in Keans dream for the club, or fairies for that matter. What I do know is that one of our best players have left and the next best one wants to leave. Hardly a fantastic advertisement for potential incoming players.
67splitscreen Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 More than 500k a month? 125k p.w its a lot. Which is £110k, which is probably £50k more than our top paid player. Diego is not coming to Ewood.... It's nearer £100k a week in sterling - but still a lot. Whoops! sorry about that forgot the smiley.
LeChuck Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 Anybody watch The Wire? You know Season 3 with the "free zones" - pushing a horrible and damning section of society out of harms way, allowing normal people to resume their normal lives? That's what this transfer section is. I'm going.
Mullionvagrant Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 For once this is useful from Andy Cyer anybody want to add anybody to this list:- http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/blackburnrovers/news/9103058.Blackburn_Rovers_transfer_rumour_round_up_____summer_2011/?ref=rss In Roman Shishkin (Lokomotiv Moscow) Aleksandr Anyukov (Zenit St Petersburg) Joe Cole (Liverpool) Mirko Vucinic (Roma) Diego Novaretti (Toluca) Joao Miranda (free agent) Papiss Cisse (Freiburg) Wes Brown (Manchester United) Roger Johnson (Birmingham) James Collins (Aston Villa) Scott Dann (Birmingham) Vicente Rodriguez (free agent) Pablo Osvaldo (Espanyol) Emmanuel Adebayor (Manchester City) Amauri (Juventus) Jermaine Jones (Schalke) Mame Biram Diouf (Manchester United) Roque Santa Cruz (Manchester City) Stephen Warnock (Aston Villa) Matt Mills (Reading) Serge Aurier (Lens) Out Morten Gamst Pedersen (Galatasaray) El-Hadji Diouf (Rangers/West Ham) Chris Samba (Arsenal/Tottenham) Junior Hoilett (Newcastle) Jason Roberts (Ipswich)
davulsukur Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 Samba's been wanting out for months. Possibly before Kean even took over. I don't see having kean as manager sparking a mass exodus.

alexanders Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 Whoops! sorry about that forgot the smiley. Forgot that the sterling currency has taken a dip against the Krone.
Rover95 Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 Yep! yet another player who doesnt want to play for the fantasist Stephen Kean. Who's next ? Samba's wanted out for much longer than Kean has been in charge. Surely it's a case of not wanting play for Blackburn Rovers rather than the manager. You seem a bit of a sad little man to me. Sniping over every little thing and always looking to the negative. I think the ignore button is called for.
Backroom Tom Posted June 23, 2011 Backroom Posted June 23, 2011 Yep! yet another player who doesnt want to play for the fantasist Stephen Kean. Who's next ? But he also didn't want to play Samuel Allardyce he's been wanting out a long time. It's simple we wont stand in his way as long as teams are willing to pay what we want, I hope we stay strong on this one.

Yes and yes to your reply rebs without saying anymore.
A cup of beans Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 Anybody watch The Wire? You know Season 3 with the "free zones" - pushing a horrible and damning section of society out of harms way, allowing normal people to resume their normal lives? That's what this transfer section is. I'm going. great analogy! season 3 was the best.. 2 and 5 the worst! IMO anyway.. back to transfers.. wheres the fixation with pav come from (apart from the fact that he always scores against rovers)??? he's allegedly moody , not a good communicator and doesnt mix well with the rest of the squad (if you listen to 'arry and other pundits and sources ). we already have kalinic.. who allegedly is exactly the same. so why bother ?

Big Chris said he'd look at who we were signing before making a decision .....who've we signed ?
gumboots Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 Samba's been wanting out for months. Possibly before Kean even took over. I don't see having kean as manager sparking a mass exodus. You're right. Samba's desire to leave has nothing to do with Kean. Remember a french friend of ours asking him whether he was staying at Rovers when Hughes was still manager and his answer then was "On verra" (We'll see) And on the Hoilett issue, well again his dad has always wanted him at a bigger club. If players don't like the manager then there's only one group of people who can change him and it's not us. Protests against owners' decisions were yet again proved to be futile by Villa fans just a week ago. Samba's head has been turned by Arsenal just as surely though perhaps more subtly than P Jones' was by Utd. My French club, Lorient, has already lost Gameiro (Ligue 1 second top scorer), Amalfitano (Most assists) and Morel their captain who has come through the ranks at Lorient. No doubt they like their manager - Christian Gourcuff is very highly thought of as a developer of good technical passing sides with young players coming through - but they have still left the unfashionable Lorient to play for Marseille and PSG.

Ok Rovers95, take your point on board, and i'm not in any way disagreeing with what you say. Just what is or are the positives please ? Along with many other Rovers fans WE are desperately in need of some positives. Feed me a positive because i'm desperate for one.
Taggart Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 Yep! yet another player who doesnt want to play for the fantasist Stephen Kean. Who's next ? yep ! and yet another negative post by JAL - see any similarities ?
