Summer 2011 Transfer Window Part Two

Fact - We have sold Phil Jones for a decent amount of money all things considered.

As far as I know - please tell me if there has been any more transfers that I am not aware of - that is the only piece of business we have done as yet this tranfer window.

JJ was on loan to us. Samba is still our player and is under a lengthy contract.

Everything else is pure speculation. Obviously, some people like to put a negative slant on things....it's a shame but that's life.

Was there any evidence that Phil Jones was sold against his will in January, or tried to anyway?

Not saying there isn't, but I haven't heard of it so if you have any links to that or a story please feel free to share.

I appreciate you are a new member- it is posted on the Phil Jones thread.

Come on chaps can we not keep it civil in here.

JAL and others obviously care for the club but currently are in need of reassurance about the future of it thus sees the glass as half (or three quarters) empty, others see the positive in everything.

I say we call a truce till the start of the season and reassess then. The petty squabbling doesn't make good reading for anyone.

So how do Rovers dress the signing of a russian right back.

Rovers lose both key centre halfs, yet recruit russian full back and captain who could well replace fans favourite Michel Salgado.

That's a bit silly. Salgado shouldn't play a full season again and who else do we have to play at right back?

Maybe the Raos have learned to announce signings after they've signed after looking like tools when we tried to go for Ronaldinho. With all the transfer rumours, stories of board meetings etc. there is a sense that something will happen soon.

Any outlandish rumours from those with sources about who the first signing is?

Quick question, since nicko hasn't/won't answer my question I'll throw it out there. Does anyone actually believe the 45-50 million figure is before we've sold Samba?

I would say it's before the Samba sale if it happens, mainly due to the shopping list only having the Jones replacement on it.

But Reb you aint! All you're doing is putting a negative spin on the "Facts". Jones/samba would have/will gone/go irrespective of who the manager was/is.

Those M'lud ARE the Facts! ;)

I never stated that they wouldn't.

All I see right now is Jones has gone, Samba is pimping himself to anyone who will listen and we are promised to spend a shed load of cash. Not by the club by the way, but by Mr. Nixon who is a wonderful contributor on here, but in no way infallible.

Taking into account our manager likes to spout nonsense about the Champions League every chance he gets (probably mutters it in his sleep) it makes one wonder why, if this was at all feasible, would Samba want to sod off to wear a red or blue shirt?

Why must we pound our chests like enraged silver back gorillas and throw feces around?

Spin does go both ways you know, 360 degrees covers all the angles and all sides. It seems that if we blindly follow the masses and grab players names out of thin air and belittle any player that doesn't rank as acceptable to the new team of giants that we are creating, then it seems nowadays that that person is a bigot, idiot, or just retarded. I am none of those things and take exception that I am being thrown into the crowd of fanatics that can not find anything positive. I am certainly not as rabid in regards to Kean as many, but I am not as blinkered to the glory that is Kean as well. Kean could streak naked through the streets of Burnley with "###### on Jack Walker" on his back in red paint and some would think that he was cleverly instigating our inbred neighbors. The club could sell any player for 50p and Hughesy would think that the player was crap anyway. Kamy has voiced concerns to all and sundry about the club and what Kean is saying, does he get stick? No. Why is that I wonder?

Why is it that the people who see a contradiction in selling your best players to buy better players so very very wrong? To go forward does one have to take two steps back and hope that the barrier in front of them will magically disappear?
