Actually, I think you're right. I was looking at stats for the wrong Cissé. Took six, scored four. Seems very confident in his penalty taking, too, which is something I think we've missed for a number of years. I only really trust Dunny to take our penalties.

£6m is a ridiculous sum for a guy so talented. I think with today's over-inflated market, we could be looking at double that based on his potential alone. Still, good on Stoke for testing the waters for the rest of us. I thought Sturridge was almost perfect for Bolton this year. He'd fit in really well here, and it'd help having a young Englishman here to account for our loss of Jones.

Yer we seem to have a nice little influx of young players at our disposal now, been refreshing watching hoillet and ollson last year being able to run at defenders, definetly missed that the last few years. Let's just hope more is to come from rochina and formica.

If we don't get Jones from schalke we need some more steel in midfield though. Think viera would be a good shout but don't think he'd come and might not have the engine for a full 90 nomore. But nzonzi and co would raise their game though having him around

Once upon a time, Viera would have been a very interesting addition... mainly when we were skint, but now we *MIGHT* have some money in the cup, I'd like to think we'd look elsewhere for a younger, more technically gifted player. Not to say Viera wasn't, but I don't feel he isn't now.

Mentioned Palombo before. He's a very stout and well versed midfielder. Not the tallest guy on the field. Sampdoria captain for a number of years and still in the International set-up. But Jones should be the primary target, and that's one thing we can all agree on. It's hard to believe that he still has his doubters. Watched him a few times for Schalke, and really didn't think we were capable of pulling that one off. I just really hope he would take a cut from the €4m a year he apparently gets in Germany.

I really dig Lewis Holtby too. Half English (supports Everton, apparently) and was on loan at Mainz last season. He's right footed, but plays quite a bit of his game on the left wing. To buy him would cost quite a few, as I think he's held in high regard by Schalke, but they seem willing to let him out on loan to get playing time, so who knows?

Nicko says we are trying to sign a left winger for 7 million,exactly the price of Almeria's star player Piatti,he also said there is competition for the left winger ie Benfica and Udinese,i rave about him so much because i believe with him on the left and Hoillet on the right we would become one of the most exciting teams to watch in the EPL,add to that hopefully Cisse and you have three very good attackers who all know were the net is which would be strange.Samba will leave and i would replace him with either Dann or Johnson,one thing that is really bothering me is people on here wanting us to make a move for Keith Andrews understudy Darron Gibson,Gibson is garbage and Andrews who believe or not plays very well for Ireland is ten times better,Gibson has a great shot but nothing else.Andrews,Grella,Kalinic and probably Pedersen will all leave in my opinion.It looks like it's us or Russia for Cisse.

Cheers Glenn. Trying to pick through it was a nightmare this morning.

Bidding decent money for who has scored more than 20 goals in a season is not something we've been able to do for a while. The people turning their noses up at it should remember that. I'm excited by the prospect and hopefully we can tempt him here.

If stoke get Sturridge for 7million, I'll trash my own town.

I personally dont think vicente is a player we should be looking at. Hes injury prone, hasnt been on form for a number of years and will probably command high wages and hes not the youngest. I would like us to be signing a quality left back and pushing olsson onto the left wing as he is a lot more effective in that position. Or if we are after a left winger it should be as mentioned piatti or even nzogbia as they would both be better and younger options that could potentially have more of an impact on the pitch rather than keeping our physio in a job

To be successful in the top league, you must at least try to keep your best players. Selling them as a policy might make sense financially, but wont bring success on the park.
