rebelmswar Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 I wonder if all the negative posters are talking loud now, when there is still time to be negative, since I thin we all know that by the end of the window, we will in fact have a better squad than we had a few weeks ago. Can't we try to keep this thread about transfers and not how Kean managed the team last season? That's great to hear, fantastic in fact. Care to name everyone who tells you things in confidence? I mean if its good enough for Philip then it should be good enough for all right? Or is it because his view is slightly different from the surf riders and should be attacked? Or is it just popular to smear him? I dunno myself, but goose and gander an all that.
Neal Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Busier than a Baghdad brickie. There is something involving a Rovers target that appears to be moving today...trying to get to the bottom of it...getting closer to working out what is going on, but when you see the tale you will understand why it is a complex web to unweave. Anyway, back to the day job. Surely Miranda with his pre-contract agreement with Atletico. Too obvious?
jellyfish7006 Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 For left back, has anyone seen Eric Lichaj playing the Gold Cup this week? He's been absolute class (not just saying that because he's a countryman) - his 1v1 defending is of a very high level, and going forward he is as dangerous as Olsson with runs and taking guys 1 on 1 - currently sits the bench for Villa so we could get him on the cheap. Anyone else seen him play? Lichaj has just signed a new three year deal at Villa
chaddyrovers Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Bassong and cash fro Samba wouldnt be the worst deal in history if it came to fruition. If they are offering him to Bolton he is obviously surplus to requirements. Bassong would be a good signing for us as a replacement for Samba. I would move for Collins of Villa for Jones replacement. With Nelsen and Hanley aswell plus Collins and Bassong that will be a strong 4 centre defenders.
Jamesw1982 Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Juventus are close to agreeing a deal with athletico madrid for Aguero. Which means they dont want to sign Vucinic. Surely this makes us favourites to sign him? maybe we can gt him for cheaper now ?
imy9 Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Vucinic is a top class striker who is worth 10 million- anything over and personally I would say no- can play in a variety of positions up front.
brian_gallagher85 Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Quick, everyone make wild guesses! Nickos lass is going to release a range of Rovers related handbags for certain members of this site to use during the next transfer window? The clue is in his use of the word "unweave"....am I warm?
dubdubdub Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 No wait, first lets slag Kean, THEN make wild guesses! Kean's a dick...probably fat Ronaldo for £20 million (insert comment slamming Venkys here).
howzat Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Two names mentioned in the last couple of pages make me cringe Danny Rose and James Collins both terrible players. Make that 3 names Hanley shocking defender never seen him have a good game. Surley there are better options than Rose and Collins.
HemelRover Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Ok guys n gals. Keep it transfer rumour related. No talk of last seasons relegation battles, the points we had when Sam left or anytghing else off topic. Thank you.
Blueboy Downunder Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 They weren't meant to be going straight into the first team anyway, were they? Thought the plan for Formica was next season to begin with..? as far as i am aware i am sure kean said they would be going straight into the first team squad and challenging straight away.
pick32 Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Kiev in for Kranjcar Don't no if he is on Kean's list but he is on the majority of the supporters.
Torgeir Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 There is something involving a Rovers target that appears to be moving today...trying to get to the bottom of it...getting closer to working out what is going on, but when you see the tale you will understand why it is a complex web to unweave. Not likely to happen then. Braddock and I are hoping it's Heskey
LeChuck Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 as far as i am aware i am sure kean said they would be going straight into the first team squad and challenging straight away. I can't remember whether it was Rochina or Kean that said it, but after his decent performance against Everton someone said about it being a bonus to be playing this season as he was signed for next season really. Also, if we wanted Formica then we had no choice but to sign him in January, he'd be at Monaco now if we hadn't.
AJW Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 benayoun anyone ? for that little bit of quality in midfield ?
Mullionvagrant Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 http://www.fansfc.com/story/33178.html Linking us with dann again. 12 million might be a bit too high though!
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted June 20, 2011 Moderation Lead Posted June 20, 2011 Dann's never seen happening, far better clubs than us in for him!
rogerjonesgloves Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Dann's never seen happening, far better clubs than us in for him! I think you mean bigger!
Mullionvagrant Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Nicko sort out David Anderson please the below article isn't pleasant reading for us rovers fans....not a sniff of any positive comments http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/opinion/columnists/david-anderson/Transfer-news-and-analysis-Blackburn-struggling-as-Phil-Jones-quits-Chris-Samba-set-to-leave-and-targets-Mirko-Vucinic-Amauri-Emmanuel-Adebayor-Sebastian-Larsson-look-elsewhere-David-Anderson-column-article750181.html
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted June 20, 2011 Moderation Lead Posted June 20, 2011 I think you mean bigger! Erm, nah mate I mean better- i.e Liverpool, Arsenal- the quality of their squad is superior to ours....
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Huh? As I recall, during January or Feburary, we were seventh after having beaten West Brom twice and Liverpool 3-1, dreaming of challenging for Europe and even Chris Samba and Phil Jones signed a new contract then. Of course when things looked rosy back then, Kean thought he could buy a couple of kids for the future. None of us at that time expected Blackburn to go on a slide all the way down. But even after the winless run, we never once slipped into the relegation zone. Not trying to downplay our problems back then, but you do have to admit at that period of time it was a good choice. Plus we had Jermanine Jones and Roque Santa Cruz, the former of whom shone and the latter who none of us thought would flop at that time. Be a little more fair to Kean, yeah? Hang on matey, I thought Santa Cruz would flop and said so repeatedly at the time.
liam Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Nicko sort out David Anderson please the below article isn't pleasant reading for us rovers fans....not a sniff of any positive comments I agree, maybe not good to read but it's pretty much on the nail. http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/opinion/columnists/david-anderson/Transfer-news-and-analysis-Blackburn-struggling-as-Phil-Jones-quits-Chris-Samba-set-to-leave-and-targets-Mirko-Vucinic-Amauri-Emmanuel-Adebayor-Sebastian-Larsson-look-elsewhere-David-Anderson-column-article750181.html
