I think Nicko just looked at the list of suspects that we are rumoured to be going for and deduced that figure. He has no control over the other stuff, so yeah.. Can't blame or moan at him if it turns out to be wrong, he is just giving us information, true at the time he posts it.. Makes sense to me, not sure what the big deal is?

we all have differnt view on our owners, however for me its nice that the club have money to spendon new players unlike other seasons.

Unless I missed something from Nicko I was under the impression we'd be spending around £45 mil and I presumed that would be if Samba goes.

To use a nickoism, check back. I re-posted his quote earlier, his shopping list that added up to the 45-50 only had one central defender on it, Miranda who was free. His original prediction suggested we'd spend nothing on a CB so can only be before we sold Samba. Looking at this post and other, he is also confident we'll spend that much but unsure if Samba will be sold.

I'd love Samba to stay and we spent £45m-ish, providing it wasn't going to get us in trouble further down the line. It would show Venky's do actually mean business because I'm still waiting for proof.

Thing is TBW, it's so tedious to read again and again. The usual suspects just snipe at each other over Venky's, Kean and Allardyce where it dominates nigh-on all the threads!

Why is anyone making an issue out of Robinson not having signed a new contract yet? The last 2 interviews i heard with him on MOTD and LKO suggested he was happy where he is, confident in his game again and quite happy to be out of the spotlight with England. If he needs or wants a new contract I'm sure it will be sorted, but to suggest there is something bad in his not having yet signed one would go against what I've heard him say himself. Hoilett is another issue - his contract is running down soon and his dad is ambitious for him and possibly difficult to deal with, although I've no interviews or anything to go on there.

But we already have a transfer links thread and if you wanna just see what nicko's written just go to advanced search, put nicko as the author, select Transfer Talk from the box on the right, check the show results as posts radio button and search.

This is a discussion thread, people should be able to disagree with each other about the stories, link probability and quality of players linked with Rovers. Of course when the content is nothing but personal abuse they should be removed.

In my opinion the bitching posts are far more interesting than the "nicko have you heard any more on [input subject he has already reported on]..." type posts.

I think that our idea with regards to one CB might be that we would then have Nelsen, Givet, Miranda and Hanley as our CB's. Maybe moving Olsson to Left back and thus being interested in a Left winger. Then having a younger right back and Olsson overlapping Hoilett (or whoever plays on the right) and the new left winger. Hopefully then having two central midfielders with a bit of steel like Nzonzi and Jones. Then maybe we have the idea of a Rochina or Formica behind the new striker. I think Nicko said he didn't know where the money was coming from, however it wasn't debt, but it might include the sale of Samba and others.

CISSE...nothing good ever came easy...I think you can out-match any other bids...however his wages are fierce...but if you want quality then you will have to pay...he is on plenty in Germany and is at an age when this is his big move...so he won't come cheap...I hope this one comes off...he looks good for English football.
